Beautiful home, well maintained. Host was very proactive and even let us know that the area the home was had a power outage prior to our arrival which fortunately resolved by the time we arrived. Pool was a great temperature for dipping into after laying in the sun. Spacious living area. We would happily stay there again.

Michael’s place was incredible! Every detail was thoughtful and lovely. We enjoyed coming back and relaxing everyday after exploring the beautiful island. It was clean and so comfortable, we loved every aspect of it!

The view alone is worth the price! Everything was so lush and beautiful! We felt like we were in our very own private resort. We enjoyed the spacious house itself and the outdoor area. The pool was great and the beds were super comfortable! This was a great base to explore the entire Big Island of Hawaii! I would recommend this home to anyone! Just book it already!

Such a beautiful, peaceful and private property. Postcard views everywhere you look. Clean, comfortable, and well appointed. It was hard deciding each day if we should head out and see the various sites or stay and enjoy the house. By far the quickest responding hosts we've ever had the pleasure of staying with. Our stay couldn't have been any better. We can't recommend this place enough!

We enjoyed the private and peaceful location and it worked out well for our brief stay on that side of the island with a reasonable drive to some areas that were just too far from the west side of the island. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the AC as my husband gets hot and sweaty at night without it. The frogs were loud at night but the fan helped cover the noise so we appreciated it. We didn't get the chance to meet our hosts but had a great stay overall and would happily stay again in the future.

Beautiful home on the peaceful Hamakua Coast. Our family enjoyed a wonderful and quiet staycation - the pool was delightful and temp was just right with the cool ocean breeze. Kitchen was stocked with basic essentials making cooking easy. Very comfortable sleep spaces - cool breeze at night with windows open. Loved every minute! Suzy was very friendly and responsive. The grounds were so beautiful - lots of flowers and fruits surrounding us. I highly recommend this home as your next getaway. I will stay here again. Thank you Suzy and Peter!

This was a beautiful Airbnb! Perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. The pool was the star of the show with lounge chairs and lots of places to relax. It had everything we needed to cook and grill our meals. It’s walking distance from Makuu cliffs, which is beautiful to watch the sunset. Chase was communicative before and during our stay. The only downside was that the driving instructions to get there were a bit confusing and the key pad lock was older so the buttons were hard to push and the unlock is a little delayed. But that’s the only minor thing! We would love to come back and stay here again!

Sierra and her place were wonderful! It was peaceful haven with a gorgeous view of a waterfall (which we later walked down to enjoy - an easy and convenient walk!). The lanai and outdoor setting was my favorite along with the spacious bathrooms! No need for AC as the cross breezes are so comforting :)

hidden gem on lovely grounds with his own honey bees making scrumptious honey. Dennis was so sweet and friendly and his dog and cat were so sweet too. loved how close and convenient it was to the volcano national park. The property is set in a simply gorgeous subtropical plot.

Beautiful house with tasteful furnishing. A bit cramped if the tv is pulled out because the tv is set up on a rollable cabinet but still very beautiful and comfortable place to use as base for exploring the volcano national park. Host is friendly and communicative.

The best spot in Hilo. From the incredible location on a cliff with the ocean waves crashing below to the amazing views of the surf beach and cruise ships, dolphin pods swimming by and a clear view of the skies- I want to come back to Hilo just to spend more time here. Saul has made it so homey and is a wonderful host.

This place is probably one of the most unique and beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. The inside and out are decorated beautifully. You can see the ocean from the front porch and the lush vegetation surrounding the place is magical. No dishwasher and no A/C but with the windows open and fans provided in each bedroom, it was perfectly fine. The sound of the coqui frogs was also delightful at night. Just know that you will be driving about 20-30 min to get places but it is so absolutely beautiful - it is worth it to stay there. Michael gave us a tour of the property and was very responsive any time we needed anything, which wasn’t often. Highly recommend this place as long as you are willing to drive a little ways to get to things. Make sure to do the scenic red road drive, which is close by.

The house looks even better and fancier than the photo. The photo looks dark but it actually very bright during day time due to sun shine directly go into the room through roof windows. Everything is clean and organized. The surroundings are amazingly beautiful.

Home away from home. We loved how super clean and spacious it was. The ocean view was beautiful against the beautifully inspiring garden. (I want to make my backyard like this). Coming home each day took my breath away. The backyard has a table to eat on and wooden loungers to take a nice nap on and a bunch of Adirondack chairs to sit on. Dusty and Luba are amazing hosts with great recommendations such as the Maku’u farmers market, food spots and the Mt Kilauea volcano (we were so lucky to see the eruption on May 25th). We BBQ’d on their grill and cooked breakfast every morning all while enjoying the extremely relaxing ambiance. The showers were very clean with a rain shower head and handheld. At night the little frogs do croak but it literally puts you to sleep. Having the washer and dryer came in super handy for all our beach days. I wish this was my home! We would love definitely stay again.

The house is absolutely amazing! We had a marvelous time relaxing in the house and exploring the island. Everything was as described and even more beautiful than we could have imagined. The tranquility of the place together with the ocean sounds is just purely relaxing and inspiring. The house is in great condition and offers everything we needed for our stay. Theresa and Justin are wonderful hosts that were always were kind and helpful and prepared the house with great love.

My family and I had a great time here. The place is clean and lovely. My daughter loves the wooden board games provided and she enjoyed playing them. There is also coffee set, which is a surprise for us. We started the day with making coffee and had a good breakfast. And the location is also great, only several miles away from volcano national park, very convenient for visiting the park.

Staying at the Volcano Tea House Cottage was truly breathtaking—both beautiful and full of charm. I absolutely loved it; it was the perfect escape! The stunning Japanese theme throughout the home and the incredible 'furo' hot tub …Wow!!! …unforgettable highlights. I can’t say enough good things. Shannon was a wonderful host—thoughtful and welcoming. I highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing retreat.

It is such an amazing place. So close to the volcano national park that we were able to go and see the volcano eruption on time. The surrounding is very peaceful. We felt like we are in a rainforest. The place has more than everything we need! Very considerate. We strongly recommend it!

Paku's place was by far the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at. It was a giant house less than a mile away from the Volcano national park. The volcano also erupted to 1000 feet up in the air the day we stayed here, so it was magical, overall. In the morning, I sat in the garden, hearing the wind chimes, which was very peaceful. At night, we sat in the hot tub at Paku's place, watching the red glow of the erupting volcano in the sky. Paku responded right away to my messages and phone calls, and he also texted me when the volcano was erupting. Though I was already watching it at the park, I appreciated that he texted me, in case I hadn't been. He also called me before I arrived to suggest that I should get food before coming to his place from Hilo since we didn't have a car, which worked out great. He was super helpful, and I'll 100% come back if we ever come back to Hawaii.

We had a wonderful day at Roberta‘s house in volcano. It is exceptionally clean and quiet, and feels brand new. The beds are very comfortable. The hot tub was warm, very clean and worked perfectly. The kitchen is fully stocked. The property is convenient to the national park, golf course, and winery. It is very quiet, private, and comfortable. We were sorry to leave!

Peaceful and relaxing in a serene secluded jungle setting. Between the hot tub and fireplace, this house left me feeling rejuvenated after my stay. The house is clean and new, yet still feels cozy. You'll always remember the great places you've stayed on your travels and for me this is one of them.

I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and this is by far the best home I’ve stayed in. It’s so unique and beautifully laid out. And it’s tucked away in such a beautiful patch of giant ferns. Kent is an excellent host. Very communicative and incredibly accommodating. He also puts so many personal touches in the house to welcome you. Fresh flowers, beautiful bouquets, and all the amenities you’ll need and more. The house is 5 minutes from the National park, which made for easy trips in and easy excuses to go back and spend time on the deck amongst the ferns. I can’t recommend this place more highly. Beautiful home, the waves put me to sleep every night as well is the comfortable mattress. Kids enjoyed playing Pac-Man and watching the Nena from the back deck. Coffee and the sunrises were the best. Thanks a lot!
