House holiday rentals in Volterra

Dear Anna, nu we bijna terug een week in België zijn, dringt het nog meer tot ons door hoe prettig het verlof was in Toscane. Ik wil je hartelijk danken voor je goeie zorgen en betrokkenheid. We hebben zo genoten van je mooie huis -waar alles aanwezig was-, het mooie zwembad en de prachtige wijnhuizen en steden in de buurt. Ik wil je ook een dik compliment geven voor je prachtige planten op het hele domein. Het is niet simpel om die zo gezond te houden onder de Italiaanse zon. Kortom, ik zal je huis aan iedereen aanbevelen en wens je nog veel succes met de werken in het nieuwe, naburige huis. Veel groetjes aan je echtgenoot en zoon. Baci Veerle & co

Samen met mijn vrouw en onze 2 kinderen van 7 en 9 jaar verbleven we een week in het huis van Antonio! Wat hebben wij genoten, echt een week om nooit te vergeten! We kunnen deze plek iedereen aanraden! De tuin is prachtig met vele mooie bloemen en planten. Het zwembad en de jacuzzi zijn nog mooier dan op de foto’s en het huis was voor ons de typische Toscaanse sfeer die wij zochten! We hebben genoten van het adembenemende uitzicht en het terras met bbq en vuurplaats waar we marshmallows met de kinderen hebben geroosterd! Antonio is erg goed bereikbaar en geeft handige tips. En zijn Engels is beter dan dat hij zegt 😉 Wij komen graag nog een terug in dit paradijsje 🤩 Antonio, grazie

La récompense est au bout de quelques centaines de mètres de chemin empierré mais praticable: l'environnement de la maison est superbe et la vue sur la campagne du Chianti est magnifique. La maison n'est pas très grande mais convient pour 4 personnes. Elle est très bien entretenue et équipée. Les produits que Monica laisse gentiment à disposition dans les salles de bains sont raffinés. La piscine (commune aux différents logements du hameau) est suffisamment grande pour pouvoir se détendre en nageant, avec une vue imprenable sur la campagne toscane. A partir de Castellina, il est facile de rayonner pour découvrir Sienne (à moins d'une demi-heure de route) et toute la région du sud du Chianti. Florence est un peu plus loin (compter une bonne heure de route). Séjour magique. Et Monica est très réactive pour aider ses hôtes.

This house is the perfect place for two families traveling together. It’s incredibly cozy, thoughtfully designed, and fully equipped with amenities that let you truly enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan countryside. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The hosts went above and beyond — welcoming us with fresh fruit, traditional sweets, bottled water, coffee, milk, and a selection of Tuscan wines, which we truly appreciated. They also provided high-quality Italian hygiene products, which added a thoughtful and luxurious touch to our stay. One of the highlights for us was the host’s responsiveness. Communication was always fast, helpful, and friendly — a detail that made a big difference. We didn’t get a chance to use the private pool due to our tight schedule, but the property still gave us a real sense of independence, comfort, and safety. I 100% recommend this property. Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt im Herzen der Toskana! Die Wohnung liegt traumhaft schön in der Natur – umgeben von sanften Hügeln, Weinbergen und unzähligen Olivenbäumen, die in der Sonne silbern schimmern und das Landschaftsbild einfach magisch machen. Die Aussicht ins Tal ist atemberaubend schön – man könnte stundenlang einfach nur dastehen und schauen. Der 28 Meter Pool? Besser geht es nicht – perfekt gelegen mit Panoramablick, absoluter Ruhe und einer Atmosphäre, die zur puren Entspannung einlädt. Was diesen Ort aber wirklich besonders macht, sind die Menschen: Jacopo, Sophia und ihre Kinder haben uns mit einer so herzlichen Offenheit empfangen, dass wir uns sofort wie bei guten Freunden gefühlt haben. Es ist einfach schön, solchen Menschen zu begegnen – authentisch, warm und voller Lebensfreude. Und dann war da noch Luba, die Schäferhündin – ein echtes Herz auf vier Pfoten! Sie hat uns jedes Mal mit solcher Freude empfangen, dass wir sie sofort ins Herz geschlossen haben.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche in Lyndalls Haus in Lecchi in Chianti! Das Grundstück, das Haus und der Pool waren sogar größer und schöner als erwartet. Die Landschaft ist traumhaft – perfekt zum Entspannen. Die Küche war hervorragend ausgestattet, sodass wir fast jeden Tag gekocht haben. Auch die Restaurant-Empfehlung im Ort war ein Volltreffer. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen. Vielen Dank, Lyndall!

Valeria und Simone haben eine super schöne und saubere Wohnung! Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Wohnung bietet einen super Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Wanderungen und Ausflüge. Während unseres Aufenthaltes haben wir immer gute Tipps und Ratschläge von den beiden bekommen. Unser Hund hat sich auch sehr wohlgefühlt und da das Grundstück komplett eingezäunt ist, konnte er sich frei bewegen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Es war eine unglaublich schöne Zeit!

We hebben genoten van het geweldige huis van Maria. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door Maria en haar familie, waar we verwelkomt werden met een fles wijn en lekkere taart. We waren met 6 volwassenen. Er is meer dan voldoende ruimte. Fijn dat iedere slaapkamer voorzien is van een eigen badkamer. Het is een prachtig huis in een mooie omgeving met een heerlijk zwembad tussen de olijfbomen en het is echt van alle gemakken voorzien. Erg fijn is ook de oplader voor de elektrische auto. We haalden elke morgen vers brood bij de plaatselijke bakker in het dorpje 5 minuten rijden met de auto. Goede uitvalsbasis voor de mooie steden zoals Lucca, Siena, Florence. Ook het strand is prima te doen. We hebben ons zeer thuis gevoeld. Maria en familie, bedankt voor de geweldige tijd in jullie mooie huis.

first I love his neighbors who checked us in. Cinzia was amazing. She not only showed us our place but took our kids to show us her farm. she also makes her own olive oil and gifted us with some! Wonderful Italian neighbors!! I contacted Rocky in advance and he provided me with specific recommendations for where we should go during a long drive we took. we went where he suggested and was not disappointed! Amazing quiet location with great near by wineries. would 100% recommend to everyone!

We had a brilliant week at Jakob and Margit’s house. Margit was so friendly and helpful (and gave us some wine and fresh eggs!). The views from the gardens are incredible and having the swimming pool was perfect. The local area has lots of great vineyards to visit and the house is close to Florence/Siena/Arezzo for day trips. It had everything we needed like a washing machine etc.

Un de nos meilleurs séjours assurément !!!! Mattéo est un hôte très aidant et prévenant. La maison est juste un petit bijou au sommet de cette colline...une vue sur un paysage Toscan très inspirant du côté de la piscine (qui est une très jolie piscine)...bien que partagée nous avons été toujours seuls à en profiter !! La terrasse où l'on prenait nos repas est très agréable avec ces fortes chaleurs. La situation de la maison permet de rayonner dans la Toscane...Lucca, Sienna, Volterra, San Gimignano....et nous avons pu pousser jusqu'au Jardin des Tarots de Niki de Saint Phalle. Nous recommandons fortement un séjour chez Mattéo...et pensons y retourner une autre fois.

This 500 year old house is ideally situated in Tuscany and the Chianti region. It is a perfect place for day trips to other towns, for wine, tasting excursions, and for visiting Florence. The idyllic setting gives you a sense of country life in Italy, and the views from the patio and house are stunning. There are spectacular wineries within 5 to 10 minutes of the house. We found the house very comfortable and enjoyed our stay very very much. Rose and Pier couldn’t have been more helpful in planning our stay and excursions. We found through them fabulous restaurants, and wineries that we would not have discovered on our own. They were also incredibly responsive when we had questions. Our only confusion about the house was that the listing showed three bathrooms, but one was in the laundry room in a separate building . Just something to know. Thank you to Rose for a lovely vacation ! It was the perfect place to explore Tuscany from!

Das traumhaft schöne Casa del Capitano ist mit viel Aufwand und Respekt für das historische Gebäude, die Umwelt und die Natur renoviert worden. Die Ausstattung ist luxuriös (zB gemauerter Whirlpool aus Naturstein) und wirklich alle denkbaren Annehmlichkeiten sind vorhanden (zB Eiswürfelmaschine). Die Aussicht ist unfassbar, 270 Grad Meerblick lassen sich kaum begreifen. Die Gastgeber waren jederzeit erreichbar, zuverlässig, haben alles perfekt organisiert und uns mit Rat und Tat begleitet (zB wo sonntags nach Ankunft mit der Fähre einkaufen) – vom Check-in bis zur Abreise. Besonders der persönliche Kontakt war außergewöhnlich herzlich und sehr sympathisch. Es gab viele kleine, liebevolle Details wie frische Zitronen aus dem Garten sowie Kräuter und „Elba-Duft“ (Aqua dell’Elba) im Haus. Und die detaillierteste Zusammenstellung an Informationen über das Haus und die Umgebung, die ich je gesehen habe. Man spürt, dass hier an nichts gespart wurde, damit sich die Gäste rundum wohlfühlen.

Beautiful property with warm, welcoming hosts. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and everything is tastefully decorated The kitchen is fully equipped, perfect for cooking meals at home. The pool was a great temperature, immaculately clean, and came with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The entire setting is peaceful and relaxing, yet only a 35-minute drive to Siena and 50 minutes to Florence. We especially loved watching the sunset at the nearby five-star Belmond hotel. We went for drinks at 7pm, enjoyed live music, and were surrounded by the heavenly scent of jasmine. There is no air conditioning but the fans were absolutely fine! Another highlight was La Speranza, a gorgeous deli serving excellent coffee, pastries, cheese, and wine. They kindly spoke English when we got stuck and made us feel so welcome.

alloggio molto grande e in una posizione perfetta: tranquilla ma centrale. Casa fornita di tutto ciò che serve compreso il caffè. Volterra è anche il punto di partenza perfetto per visitare i dintorni, spesso più affollati e turistici. (e abbiamo sempre mangiato benissimo) Francesco è stato un host amichevole e disponibile a darci tutto l' aiuto necessario e ad accertarsi che il soggiorno andasse per il meglio.

This has to be one of the nicest Airbnbs we’ve stayed it. The accommodation was luxurious in an absolutely stunning area of Tuscany. The rolling fields and cypress tree made a spectacular setting for this beautiful house. We had hired a car and this place was a 20 minute drive from Siena. Our only regret was not staying here longer.

Apartmán nás skutočne očaril, izby pekné, čisté s klimatizáciou, štýlové, v obývačke veľká Tv, kuchyňa so všetkým čo tu má byť. Samotný "rezort" bol na kopci s krásnymi výhľadmi, obrovská záhrada, bazén, všetko štýlové také Toskánske, okolie prenádherné, pohoda, kľud,pokoj, všetko čo tu potrebujete tak aj nájdete. Ako vravia Taliani, je to tu " Tutto bene"

Andrea en Simone, Are very welcoming, the location is a smal walk but with good directions easy to find. Palaia and the accommodation has amazed us, with a amazing home away from home. Great facilities, terrace, jacuzzi, pool, and not to forget amazing views. As a base to explore there is alot of interesting places to go to witin a hour drive. big cities, smaller towns, wineries, and with a tiny bit extra travelling time the sea. We had a great stay with our friends and made some great memories. would recommend the accommodation, as well as the hosts, and would definitely stay again. Kind Regards, Boyd and Naomi

Unser Urlaub bei Angela und Luigi war sehr gelungen. Alles war wie beschrieben. Die Unterkunft ist sehr authentisch, nicht modernisiert, mit viel Charme, allerdings könnte man mit einigen kleinen Veränderungen (z,B. neue Tischdecke in der Küche, neues Besteck) mehr aus der Wohnung rausholen, aber im Endeffekt ist so was nicht nicht wichtig. Für uns waren zudem die Betten nicht so bequem, das ist jedoch sehr subjektiv. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, der Pool ein Traum: Liegen, Sonnenschirme, Spielzeug- alles da. Nur den Spielplatz haben wir uns besser vorgestellt. Wichtig zu erwähnen ist aber, dass man schmerzfrei sein sollte, was Fliegen angeht. Sie sind überall und es sind viele! Die Gastfreundschaft von Luigi war außergewöhnlich (Angela haben wir nur kurz gesehen). Er war sehr kinderlieb, hat uns den Hof und seine Maschinen gezeigt, uns hofeigenes Obst und Marmelade vorbeigebracht und auch mal in seiner Pause zum Espresso eingeladen. Insgesamt eine ehrliche Empfehlung!

Stella is a beautiful person and a perfect host. Everything immediately felt like home. She explained everything very nicely. The location was serene and she gave a lot of information on things to do in that area. Would love to come again for sure.

This is a fabulous house. While we were there we had not so great weather so a lot of the outdoor space went unused but we did have one evening that it was nice enough to sit outside and over look the valley. This is a house that is not walkable to anything. We would say they "live in the country". We didn't have an issue with this since we had hired a driver but be aware that there is nothing close by. The owners were so responsive and so kind during check in. Couldn't have asked for better owners.

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Sogar an unser Baby wurde gedacht und extra Utensilien bereitgestellt. Die E-Ladestation konnten wir nicht gleich nutzen, aber einige Stunden später was schon ein Techniker da und hat das Problem behoben 👍 Die Lage ist super, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind schnell erreichbar. Wir hatten leider viele Moskitos, aber das ist ein natürliches Vorkommnis 😃 Die Waschmaschine war sehr praktisch besonders wenn man länger auf Reisen ist 👍 Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt

It gave us exactly what we needed, a private and calm place to relax with a beautiful view, lots of space by the pool, around the garden, and if we wanted to be on our own, in our separate space. The hosts were really friendly and had great suggestions for places to go and always were responsive in case we needed anything, but they also gave us the space we needed – just what we were looking for.
