Apartment holiday rentals in Waihee-Waiehu

Maui was our last Hawaiian island to visit, but we didn’t want to stay at a resort. After researching places to stay in Maui, majority of the stays were resorts. Luckily, I found this cozy apartment to stay in that was in a convenient location. The beaches nearby were beautiful and it made it easy to get to them. This spot was great for a couple!

We had an absolutely excellent stay! The condo is in a fantastic location in Paia—just a short walk to the beach, Kuʻau Store, and the iconic Mama’s Fish House (definitely make your reservation in advance!). The space was perfect for two adults, with warm wood tones, beachy decor, and a large living room with a pull-out couch for extra flexibility. The condo had everything we needed, and the laundry in the nearby building was super convenient. Check-in and check-out were seamless thanks to the hosts’ clear instructions and responsiveness. We spent most of the week wingfoiling and windsurfing, and this was the ideal home base for easy access to Kanaha Beach Park and Kahului Harbor. We also explored the Road to Hana, Haleakalā, Makawao, Haiku, Kihei, Wailuku, and Kahului—everything was within comfortable driving distance. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it, especially if you’re looking to enjoy Maui without the resort crowds.

We stayed at Nate’s place for 11 days and it was fantastic. Pictures are accurate, very clean, and the location is great. The place has everything you’d need for a vacation in Maui (beach chairs, beach towels, cooler etc). Nate responded quickly to any questions we had and his guidebook was very helpful for the best places to visit. The place exceeded expectations and we will be back!

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Debbie’s. The kitchen is well equipped - it has ~ every device and tool you could need or want for cooking all types of food or preparing any type of drink. We made breakfast sandwiches. We made a variety of drinks (from Sex on the Beach to Pina Colada's made with fresh pineapple). We purchased steaks from the nearby Foodland and grilled them to perfection + dined al fresco on the rooftop. The shower is great - high water pressure, with 3 different stream options and a built-in steam generator. Every evening felt like a home spa using that thing. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the lanai was incredible. We slept on the lanai bed basically every night, under the stars (aptly named), with an ocean breeze and the gentle sound of waves lapping against the sand at Kamaole I. The view of the daily sunsets were fantastic. It was a memorable and unique experience that made the stay extra special.

Absolutely breathtaking view; our favorite part was sitting out on the balcony watching the turtles swim. It was clean and the kitchen had pots, pans, and cooking utensils which made it great for making meals at home. (We stopped at Costco after we left the airport and got supplies for most of the week.) Only two things less than ideal for us were the noise from the street to the bedroom (we didn't realize there was a noise machine in the closet to use!) and the bed size (full? double?). We are used to a king and it was a bit of an adjustment.. I fell off the bed at one point while distracted and sorely miscalculated where I thought the edge should have been. Ha! Only thing bruised was my ego... and being able to watch the turtles from the balcony all week definitely made up for it. We loved our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed Dianne’s place! My husband and I stayed here for a week as we explored Maui. It was perfect for us - the bed was very comfortable (a huge bonus), everything was spotless, and Dianne included so many thoughtful touches, like a welcome gift basket with treats, plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, a beach umbrella, an assortment of coffees and teas, plenty of clean (lovely, thick) bath towels, and more. Located within a block of the marina, we walked to our snorkeling boat! Dianne was a gracious, communicative host and we hope to come back!

Fabulous stay. This location is absolutely perfect, and we loved walking to the beaches and through the town. I've stayed in quite a few places on the North shore and upcountry in Maui, and this is one of the best!

Great location and amazing view! We enjoyed watching sea turtles along side the shoreline right in front of the property. Hosts are very welcoming and responsive. We will definitely go back and stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay and would consider this place again if we are ever back in Maui! The best part by FAR is the location. Waking up every day to expansive ocean views was amazing! My husband and I sat outside every morning drinking our coffee and watching for turtles and we saw so many turtles! The condo is also a quick drive to great beaches, restaurants, and shopping. We had 4 teenagers with us and I will say it was close quarters for 6 full grown people but since most of our time was spent outside it wasn’t that big of a deal. We did a lot of cooking to save money and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The lack of AC was not the end of the world for us although we had to sleep with the front door open and the sliding doors open to cool things off at night enough to sleep. The bedroom does not get much air circulating through it so it stayed quite warm, but that was not a deal breaker for us and ultimately we are happy with our stay!

This was a great location for our family vacation! The view is spectacular and harbor and a few restaurants within walking distance. Barbara was a very accommodating host, and very responsive and clear on instructions. We had everything we needed. The only thing I was surprised about was the 3rd bedroom with the Japanese doors. It was much smaller than it appeared in photos and not a lot of room around the bed to put your items. The bed said double but my adult daughter and bf still felt cramped in it. Everything else was great! Would stay there again!

Truly amazing. This place was paradise. Amazing views, great walkable restaurants and other areas of interest. Our host was outstanding. Not only did she offer local recommendations, she accommodated a late checkout for us as we had a late flight off the island. Truly paradise at this location and we will definitely visit again!

We had a great week at Christopher's lovely unit. It had everything we needed. Air conditioned, but we often kept the doors to the balcony opened, screen doors closed so we could feel the balmy breeze and hear the birds. A/C automatically goes off when lanai doors are open. Christopher was extremely responsive. Local handyman took care of one issue we had quickly and efficiently. Being in a resort with beautiful pools and near the beach a plus. Unit was clean, quiet, well appointed, comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again.

Awesome stay with unbeatable views from the balcony! Saw sea turtles everyday and the overall location was perfect to get all around the island.

Absolutely amazing experience! 10 out of 10. Peaceful & friendly 🩷. Easy access to shopping, markets & restaurants. The beach was perfect! Swimming amazing, no coral in the sand to hurt your feet!! The Road To Hana is a must! Timothy allowed me late checkout because of my late flight & the fact that no one was booked until 48 hours after I checked out! Will definitely be going back!

We LOVED our stay here! The place was clean, bed was comfortable and Schyler gave very clear instructions for everything. She even let us check in earlier than expected without us asking which was so helpful. Having a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and beach equipment were all amazing amenities that made our stay so easy and convenient. Sitting out on the lanai every morning watching turtles and having the view of the ocean was our favorite part! We would definitely stay here again!

The location in Kihei was perfect for our trip to Haleakalā National Park, only a one-hour drive! There were also many beaches and restaurants within walking distance of the condo.

The condo was just like the pictures, and the amenities were great! John was very responsive and made everything super easy. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Overall just as described and the bed was comfy. I also appreciate that there were beach items provided for free (three beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkelling goggles, rain umbrella/ rain hat, and two pool noodles). They had everything we needed for our trip!

We came here for our 20th anniversary. The views and beach are unparalleled. It is a more private setting and not walkable to downtown Kihei. This was perfect for us because we just wanted a chill place to be. It is still very accessible to the entire island and Kihei is really easy to get to. We will absolutely stay here again when we come back to Maui!

Mike's place is exactly as described. So close to the beach! He provides all sorts of things like beach chairs, a few beach towels, paddle boards a cooler, etc. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could imagine that you need. He let us check in early which was a huge help! He's kind and fast on the replies. One thing to note, it can get toasty in the front bed room. He has a big fan which we used to suck in the air and that worked well! I highly recommend his place.

Really nice! Loved the view and the building is perfect direction for sunset. Condo was clean and big. The only thing I would say is that they should maybe add Tupperware and ziplocks but other than that the condo and host were great!!

I was pleasantly surprised that the photos were an exact representation. The view of the beach was amazing. The unit had all we needed and more. The bed was so comfortable. We had my mother tag along making 4 of us total. It was a bit cramped for 3 adults and a child, but we made it work. The complex even had community activities we could participate in along with courts and games like tennis, putting, and shuffle board. There were helpful luggage carts for use upon arrival and departure. There were local food and shops in very close walking distance. Our stay was truely enjoyable. We are so grateful.

Joe’s condo was perfectly clean and cozy! It fit our party of 4 just right. The location could not have been any better - 5 min from the most beautiful beaches, restaurants, and shopping. It was quiet and comfortable. 10/10 recommend
