Maui Resort Rentals: Honua Kai Konea 551

ArleneRating, 5 stars50 months ago
I would go back in heartbeat. My favorite thing about the vacation was the condo. I could sit on the lanai all day long! The lanai is huge, with lots of seating. It's partially covered and partially uncovered, which is great if you want sun or shade, or cover from the occasional Hawaiian sprinkles. The view is AMAZING! The inside of the condo was wonderful. All the comforts you need. Two of the bedrooms are like masters with HUGE bathrooms with double sinks, tub, and shower. The third bedroom is still a good size, and the entry bathroom has another shower for that guest. They gave us LOTS of towels, tp and tissue. Kitchen will come with a fresh roll of paper towels, dish soap, and a new sponge. Wifi was great! One son was in school and another working full-time, and no problems at all. We also streamed movies from the computer and it was great. Overall location was good. Just a few minutes drive to Lahaina. There is a nice walking path beachside as well. There are LOTS of young families, and the pools are really accommodating for that with slides and large shallow platforms. We have an older family, but it was fine. I enjoyed watching the little ones. The pool seating goes FAST! You have to grab a chair early morning, or get lucky. This property does seem to be a little windy, but it really wasn't bothersome. The beach was so-so. There is a small beach area in front, and you can go in the water, but it is quite rocky once you go in just a few steps. My boys told me there was a lot of coral too, so not really able to stand in the water. We had floating items and goggles, so they were able to go out a little. The wind makes it a little hard to paddle board, but I didn't even see rentals. I'm sure they were somewhere. But, if you are looking for an incredible beach, this might not be for you. There is a grocery store within walking distance, and in the evenings, there is a court of food trucks you can walk to also. Slappy Cakes across the street has an AWESOME breakfast too. Dukes also serves lunch and drinks poolside from 11-5. We did take out one day and took it to the room. Our property was a lot less crowded than the Westin next door to it. And I didn't see any property with a balcony/lanai better than ours. This room is located closest to the water. There is also a couple water bottle filling stations on the property, so make sure to bring your refillable water bottles.

KBM Resorts | FREE CAR Kapalua Bay KBV-34G4

WilliamRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This was our first experience with KBM, and it did not disappoint! The support staff was fantastic. Everything was as described, and better. We had one hiccup at night with a code, and it was resolved in minutes with their team. 5 stars all around! The property is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet location with wonderful views and close to the ocean. We would walk out our back patio and were on the beach in 5 minutes. The nightly sunset walks along the trails and on the bluff we’re absolute magic. Plenty of restaurants within 1-2 miles to enjoy. The unit was as described. Tasteful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Wifi and tv worked well for both cable and steaming. We recommend this to any single/couple/small family, and hope to use this location again! Maui Resort Rentals: Honua Kai Hokulani 402

SamRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Had a great time with 6 adults and one child. Very comfortable and easy - awesome location for families. The lanai and view from this unit is one of the best in the entire resort at Honua Kai. Live music at night was an ear shot away at Duke’s which added a wonderful ambience. Would return many times if we didn’t live 3500 miles away!

Wailea Beach Villas | PH104

CarolRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Great stay. Beautiful home. We had stayed at wbv at a unit next door and the complex does not disappoint. They were also able to accommodate an additional guest for 1 night last minute. Quiet and not hectic even though it’s a family friendly complex. Super easy and convenient. Can’t wait to return and looking forward to rebooking ph 104.

Maui Resort Rentals: Honua Kai Hokulani 101

KathleenRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Loved staying in this unit!! Literally steps from the ocean. This unit has the most incredible views, it's spacious with private rooms/baths for families + extended family! This unit is well stocked with kitchen appliances, tools, towels and basic bathroom necessities. Blackout shades in all bedrooms, super super quiet rooms. The fridge can be loud and the freezer drawer/ice machine seems to need some maintenance but other than that all good. No plastic dishware or cups though, so keep in mind to bring your own travel/drink cups for beach and pool time. The have great beach chairs and a cooler in the room for use, also a cabinet of games and puzzles which we didn't find until the last day! Can't wait to stay here again, great price for the space, views and accommodations.

We loved this home. Great place on the beach. Great sunsets and a great place to sit out and drink coffee in the morning looking out over the pool and ocean. We just loved the place and had such a good time. The house had everything.

All about Wailea, Wailea-Makena

Planning a vacation in Wailea? We’re here to help!

On the island of Maui, Wailea boasts many acres of sun-kissed golden beaches fringed with lush palm trees. There’s great golfing, restaurants and high-end resorts galore. It’s also easy to get to – just 30 minutes from Kahului Airport, the island’s primary travel hub. Direct flights land here daily from cities including L.A. Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, and more, while one-stop connections can be found from many others.

Maui is a year-round destination, with good weather and warm days at any point in the year. You’ll find the island is at its busiest during the summer months (June-August) and over the winter months, from mid-December to mid-April. A thriving island with a local population of some 150,000 people, attractions, and restaurants are open all year.

Miles upon miles of beaches

Hawaii is famous for its many beaches, which range from white and golden sands to black, and even green sand! In Wailea, the beaches are blonde and beautiful, lapped by the Pacific Ocean and backed by swaying palms.

Wailea Beach, which has been named “America’s Best Beach” in years past offers a wide expanse of golden sand. The main beach in the area, it is home to several resorts including the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons, so you’ll be sharing the beach here with parasols and loungers, but you’ll alose have access to plenty of amenities, including beach bars and restaurants.

Slightly further afield, some 5 miles down the road, is Makena Beach, one of the island’s best-loved stretches of sand. For bodyboarding or just simply taking some sun, it’s hard to beat. There’s a lifeguard on duty and basic amenities but none of the resort scene you’ll find at Wailea Beach. If you want to swim, head down to Little Beach at the western end, but be aware, it’s a clothing optional area.

Golf courses galore

For many people, a trip to Maui is not complete without a few rounds of golf, and Wailea is home to some of the island’s top courses. The area has three championship courses – the Wailea Emerald, Wailea Blue and Wailea Gold, which each offer a different experience.

With spectacular ocean views, the Emerald course is a bucket-list item for many golfers, and it has won awards from Golf for Women magazine for being one of the country’s most women-friendly golf courses.

The Gold course has numerous tee boxes for every hole, making it eminently playable for golfers of all abilities. It was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones II and has been referred to as the “thinking player’s course” due to its many challenging aspects.

The Blue course was the club’s original course, and it still has a whole lot to offer. Designed by Arthur Jack Snyder the venerable course is nicknamed the “Grand Lady of Wailea.” With views over the towering Haleakala volcano and the Pacific Ocean, it can be a challenge to keep your mind on your game here.

Seriously good spas

If golf doesn’t figure in your idea of a good time, how about some seriously indulgent spa treatments? Where sleek resorts set food, world-class spa options follow, and Wailea is no exception. Our favorites include the spa at the Fairmont Kea Lani (where Luxury Retreats also has luxurious apartments) and spa at the Four Seasons.

The award-winning Willow-Stream Spa at the Fairmont resort offers state of the art treatments designed to relax and revitalize visitors, including a facial that uses NASA-developed technology to tighten skin and reduce sun spots. Of course, you’ll also find massages, pools, rain showers, steam rooms, and saunas here.

At the Four Seasons, you can try the HydraFacial, which uses a water-based dermabrasion system to renew the surface of the skin. If you do try the treatment, you might see a beaker full of grubby water at the end, and yes, that’s all the residual dirt and impurities that have been removed from your skin! The surroundings here are chic and calm with an infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

For an indulgent afternoon, the spa at the Grand Wailea offers 50,000 sq ft dedicated to refreshing body and mind. Its spa treatments are based on traditional Hawaiian rituals. Sign up for the Termé Wailea Hydrotherapy Circuit and feel your worries melt away as you move from pool to pool, with loofah scrubs and waterfalls thrown in.
