We had an amazing stay and felt right at home! It was exactly as described. Both the sound and ocean were in walking distance. We even had a few stores we could walk to. We would definitely come again!

We had a wonderful vacation time staying at Shenanigan Shores. It's proximity to the beach, the hot tub, and the swimming pool, all made for an enjoyable and relaxing time. Although we had a delay in being able to access the house, it was clean, nicely decorated, and provided a quiet and restful place for our vacation. We would be happy to stay there again and feel sure that other families will enjoy it as well.

Overall, this was a great vacation spot. Hosts were great! House was great! We had a small inconvenience with three people coming the first day to service different parts of the house, but once addressed the host’s accommodated our requests well. Location is nice!

Great location and home for our friends with family trip! The pool and backyard was the perfect hangout and the beach was a quick walk away. Very comfortable for 3 families all with kids! Grateful our fur babies could join as well! Travis was very communicative and helpful. Highly recommend this spot!

These people are wonderful people me and my friend had an amazing time staying at there place! The place is exactly like what you see in the pictures. You will have there downstairs room to there house they will be staying in while you are there. It’s very nice that you have a walkway with access to the backyard gate which is where you’ll find your sliding glass door to your room and bathroom. You also have access to the beach bikes and the canoe which is really nice. Me and my friend brought our Blackstone down and cooked with Brad aka Sammy Hagar , lots of cool stories were shared. I had an amazing stay and I would definitely go back in the future. These people are wonderful host and the have all the suggestions of what to do , where to go

What a wonderful place to stay! All around such a great spot for some time at the beach! Everything is exactly as described. With the incredibly easy walk to the beach, seriously breathtaking views all around, convenient location to restaurants/shops and great communication from the host, I couldn’t recommend this place more! You won’t regret booking here. We can’t wait to come back!

thank you for maintaining such a fantastic space. From the moment we entered it felt like home. With the venue being in the 3rd floor you were giving an amazing view far above the reeds of the expansive wetlands. Being so responsive it left me the time & mental bandwidth to spend precious time with my family since I work states away. Hear me clear you will not find a better bnb in the area & should the chance arise for an available stay, you should just to know what a proper professional bnb is like. thank you again for the opportunity & great experience.

This place is the place to be. I had a summer getaway with some of my friends and it was the perfect place to fit our group of 6. It was clean, comfy and super modern, yet it also felt as if I was in a quaint beach cottage. All the amenities were functional, specially loved the foot and full body outdoor shower for an after beach rinse. The beach was also only a few steps away from the most beautiful and open beach I have ever been to. I could say much more about this place but if I do I’ll miss it too much. 10/10 100% recommend, owners were very nice and had very clear instructions. Thank you for a wonderful week.

We all felt very at home, the house is gorgeous and the beach is right there. We each had our own room and bathroom. Carrie was always quick to respond to our questions. We definitely want to go back there if possible next year and use her house again. None of us wanted to leave. We even saw dolphins from her deck, it was amazing. Thank you Carrie for everything!!!

This place is absolutely beautiful! You can hear the waves all night long and the the AC works beautifully! You do need 4 wheel drive as there home is in-between dunes and the parking situation with other Airbnbs cause for some 4 wheel drive action but it's part of the experience and we loved it all! Everyone around is extremely friendly and we were able to enjoy our pup on the beach at all times! EXTREMELY dog friendly vibe! Beware this location is about 30 minutes from more urban city areas BUT there are plenty of local markets and deli's to make your easy! Ice machine is fantastic and honestly makes up for no freezer! We will be booking yearly

This was our first time in the Outer Banks and we loved this cottage for our family of five. It was convenient, clean, had a great kitchen, very cute, wonderful views of the beach and ocean, and the deck had a walkway over the dunes right to the beach. The location was close to grocery stores and other amenities. Diane provided beach chairs and an umbrella and the deck had a shower to clean up before going back in. All of this made our stay here easy, relaxing, and fun. Would definitely consider staying here again.

We just got back today. This home is absolutely perfect for a quiet getaway. Sit on the couch, at the dining table, wake up in bed, wash dishes….wherever you are in this home, you will have an ocean view!!!!!!! Richard was very responsive and attentive. We travel down to OBX 2x a year and this will definitely be the place we stay! Rodanthe has that small town feel and just perfect for those that do not want to be around the crowds. Step right off the deck and onto the sand. Walk the beach and enjoy the sounds and views. Sunrise, sunsets? You get both in this home from every room! We loved our stay and will be back this fall!

It's a vacation home and the location is the selling point. You have a view of the ocean out of most of the windows. And the sound of the waves is beautiful. Darren was extremely responsive and helpful. He was an excellent host. We would gladly go back and visit maybe at a different time because the cost was high in comparison to the others on the street. Side note; In my opinion the property management company and cleaning crew they have maintaining the home takes full advantage of the owners not living there. I hope he has appropriate conversations with them regarding their lack of.

Paradise!! This home makes you feel like you’re living in paradise! The pictures capture the home but to be there live is on another level! The home was extremely clean and fit our family of 7 perfectly but could have easily added more people to the home. We cooked every day and all cooking utensils we needed were in the home. We walked to Food Lion and Duck Donuts (10-15 min) because there is a sidewalk on the main road. I would absolutely come back to this home and would HIGHLY recommend The Beach House to everyone I know who would like to visit OBX.

We loved Avon, the beach was private, the weather was gorgeous and our location was perfect, fairly close to all restaurants, stores. Our hosts were helpful and friendly. Even going out of their way to provide us with any creature comforts, coffee pots, recommendations etc. Would definitely recommend.

Janelle and Adrian are absolutely wonderful hosts. Their home is beautiful and perfect. In every way the second you walk in you feel like you are on vacation and you don’t wanna leave. We actually extended our stay because the house was so beautiful and the location of the home was so perfect that we Just needed that one more night before we were ready to say goodbye. They are so quick to respond if you have a problem with anything and they immediately fix it for you I will never use any other Airbnb again when traveling to that area.

Excellent beach getaway on a quiet street with an easy walk to the beach. A quick walk from a local market with everything needed. House was clean, kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed for a stay. Grill was clean and plenty of gas. Pool was clean and private. Plenty of room for parking. Balcony and porch made for excellent evenings. Beach access is close and private. Everything was clean and ready to go when we go there. Hoses and outdoor faucets made cleanoff beach stuff and dogs easy. Will definitely look to rebook in the future.

This house was so beautiful and EXTREMELY close to the beach! We also really enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. Plenty of seating and beds for our group of 14 people! Very comfortable living conditions. Would definitely stay here again!

The beach house was in an amazing location close to beach access and local restaurants. Rooms are very large and could accommodate a big group with lots of space. The pool and pool area was a great bonus. We spent a lot of time on the front deck for meals and hanging out. The owners were quick to respond to inquiries and very friendly. We hope to visit again in the future!

I am pleased to say that my stay at the house was absolutely incredible. The house was in immaculate condition and it felt like a normal house. With a full kitchen and a laundry machine and drier it felt like a perfect vacation home to me. There were plenty of things to do around the house. I did a lot of fishing in the Avon area and the house fired my needs perfectly. The 2 hoses out side the house and the outside shower made it super easy to rinse my gear off. It wasn’t super far from a few different beach accesses. I would 100% stay at this house again. I highly recommend it if you’re thinking about traveling to the obx.

While we were on our way to Arlene's house she contacted me to let me know the street and driveway were flooding due to the high waves. She said if it was too hard to get in, her husband would take us to the house in his truck. We were able to make it in but it was a very kind offer and went above and beyond! Arlene's house was comfortable with an amazing view. A lot of the beach had receded away due to storms which made walks on the beach difficult at times but the view from her decks made up for it. The only thing we could have wished for was a bit more yard with less tall prickly vines to walk our pup and to walk thru to the beach due to the driveway and road being flooded. All in all, we had a WONDERFUL time and I would come back again. Thank you Arlene for your very fast responses and offer of your husband's truck to get in! If we come back to the area we will absolutely see if your home is available again.
