Great location and Paul was a very helpful and communicative host, even helping one of our guests recover some belongings they had left behind. Thank you very much, Emily

4 Bed in Finchingfield (85662)

LizRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The Old Farmhouse was one of the best equipped Airbnbs that we have ever stayed in. We particularly loved the hot tub and the four ponies/donkeys. Although you can walk around the fields surrounding the house, you have to drive to Finchingfield for food and drink etc. We had a Sainsbury’s supermarket delivery which worked well.

Our second stay here. It’s a really nice place, peaceful, just as described and with charming hosts. The experience with Holiday Cottages was a little impersonal but Peter & Karen, the owners, couldn’t be more attentive.

Loved the accommodation there is a big step from the veranda so be careful it was so nice to get in from a busy day sightseeing and jump in the hot tub.

Sunnyside Cottage - a beautiful rural retreat

NigelRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Amazing little cozy cottage. Beautifully furnished, great aesthetic. Welcoming food items were a lovely touch along with items in the bathroom in case you forget to bring essentials. Lovely little kitchen area with oven, hob, microwave, kettle and toaster etc means you can knock up a meal during your stay. Almost at the edge of the village, with literally minutes walk to miles and miles of bridleways and footpaths through gorgeous countryside. Very Very quiet location to get away from it all. I walked the dog to the white horse pub (10 mins) in the evening and regretted not having a torch as there were no street lights for most of the route. Fantastic communication and flexible arrival departure times when able. Wifi is a little limited compared to the full fibre at home but you are right out in the countryside. It's adequate enough for email and browsing.

Hour Cottage, Grade II Listed Victorian Cottage

JosephRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This was our second time in Lavenham and our second stay at Esther’s. The house is easy to find (parking outside the front door if available) and get access to. The house is clean, well furnished and had most, if not all of everything extra we wanted. Over the weekend that included a BBQ, fan, clothes horse and some biscuits! Esther is very responsive and accommodating, a great host.

Newly Thatched Buttercup Cottage, Hartest

DerekRating, 5 stars2 days ago
if we had read the description properly first of the adjoining bedrooms and steep stairs we might not have stayed as a couple of people have mobility issues and we were adults sharing so not ideal to walk through bedrooms, however this did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay, lovely bedding and supersoft towels , lovely garden and access to The Crown pub ( good roast) Had everything you needed and was spotlessly clean and furniture comfortable Really like the " steam punk" vibes!

Old Leigh Cottage

ZoeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We booked the cottage to celebrate Father’s Day for my husband and our 8 year old daughter. We know the area and have friends here so needed somewhere to stay to catch up. The cottage was gorgeous, a home from home very relaxed. I cannot fault Lisa she did everything she could to ensure this stay was exactly what we had hoped for. We will be back for sure!

Apple Tree Cottage

CharlesRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a really enjoyable stay at Judy's, her bungalow was as she told us and was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It's location was just a few minutes walk to the waters edge, and to the Coast for a nice meal and 15 mins along the road to our favourite the Art Café. West Mersea was just as I remember it many years ago an unspoilt part of Essex.

The Coach House

AdamRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I had an amazing stay! The place was spotless, stylish, and exactly as described—if not better. The host was incredibly responsive, friendly, and made check-in a breeze. The location was perfect: close to everything but still peaceful and quiet at night. I especially appreciated the little thoughtful touches throughout the home that made it feel extra welcoming. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The Lodge at Middiford Barn

GregRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Sarah and Scott are wonderful hosts. They are friendly and welcoming yet valued our privacy. The independent suite was super clean and cozy, and had everything we needed. The property itself is in a rural area, which we appreciated for its peacefulness, but it does require a car.

A wonderful retreat on the Island of West Mersea.

DavidRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Lovely place, exactly as described and with everything you could want. Close to all we needed - town, beach, walks. Appreciated all the extras (and bottle of wine) provided by Angie. Mersea island is a fantastic place for a rest, for great seafood, for walks (we managed a 15 mile walk around the island) and nearby nature reserves.

Cosy Mersea Getaway

JanisRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lovely cottage on a quiet road, with parking outside. The accommodation is as described & having a garden to sit in is a bonus. There is everything you need and Sarah gives lots of recommendations. Its central location means it’s easy to walk to the shops and the harbour. We will definitely be back as Mersea is a lovely unspoilt haven. Highly recommend Seafood at Dawn, and the Art Cafe( delicious cream tea), also Lorna at Galley Seafoods(next to the petrol station) makes the best fish pies and has a large selection of fresh fish.

We had a lovely time at Little Blue Cottage. It’s located in a very nice village with great amenities. Close by to some lovely walking trails and the water. It was a great place to stay for a couple of nights with everything you need within walking distance. Lauren is a great host and we would definitely stay here again.
