Beautiful tranquil place, great for a big family outing outside the city. The hosts were very flexible and understanding to check in and check out.

We had a great stay! The property is absolutely beautiful, with amazing gardens that are so well maintained – perfect for relaxing. The whole place was incredibly peaceful, clean, and comfortable.

Madelein looked after us over our anniversary weekend and was an amazing host, so welcoming with petals and sparkling wine! We really enjoyed our stay and recommend to others looking for a time to reset 🥂🌸🌺🍾

There was a double booking so Pieter gave us the Manor House instead. We really appreciated this. The facilities are very nice, but the stunning mountain view is what made this extra special for us.

I still feel that i am still in a dream. The house was very spacious. the kitchen was excellent to cook. all the equipment in the kitchen were great. very quiet but very nice for kids everywhere on the farm. kids had a chance to feed the bottle to the baby goats. There were goats , sheep, dogs and horses. it was a heaven for kids. Usually we travel often but it is the first time to see my kid is so sad and feels emptiness in her heart when she arrives at home. Danie and his wife, even his 5 year old handsome young child are so kind. all the animals are in peace. it was a blessing to be there. We believe that they are always ready to bless people who visit their farm.

Awesome place close to the botanical gardens and a great view. Huge tv, jacuzzi was great and ideal romantic getaway. Friendly staff and great attention to detail made for a great stay,

A wonderful stay at Chuckelwood. We felt right at home with everything we needed. As a family we loved the peaceful neighborhood, enjoyed meals on the terrace and appreciated the confort of having a washing machine and a dryer. Désirée is extremely friendly and ready to help in any ways to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We felt the love of hosting and recommend Chuckelwood 💯.

I had a wonderful time at Peter’s home. He went beyond my expectations on making my stay comfortable and welcoming. He is a real super host and an amazing cook. The property is spotless and peaceful to just make it a retreat of its own. Looking forward on to returning again!

A Perfect Peaceful Getaway! From the moment we arrived at Bietjie Vrede, we felt an incredible sense of peace and tranquility. Schalk was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to assist with anything, no matter how small. We had a minor issue with the TV, and before we knew it, Schalk was already on his way to help, though my husband figured it out just before he got there. It’s truly the little things that make a stay memorable, and Schalk ensured that every detail was perfect. We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary, and they went above and beyond to make it special by preparing the jacuzzi for us—it was such a thoughtful touch! Our time at Bietjie Vrede was absolutely wonderful. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with exceptional service and attention to detail, this is the place to go. We can’t wait to come back! Lovely hosts, fresh flowers AND a KitKat. Great location and a very safe and comfortable plus you get to see 2 rabbits in the garden and a tortoise.
