Beachfront holiday rental in Westmoreland County

Sebastian, the owner was very welcoming and helpful with all our needs. The area is beautiful and peaceful. Local farmers were great! The best place to eat was Marie’s Diner. You do have to drive a bit for more stores but it’s not a bad drive at all like 20+ minutes and easy. We went crabbing & fishing out back as well as sat by the fire pit on a hammock plus we made s’mores. This is a place to mainly relax aware from every day life! Enjoy!

From the moment we opened the door, it felt like home. The neighborhood was quiet. The house was clean and well equipped to handle all our needs. Seeing the sun over the water first thing in the morning was absolutely breath taking. My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. We’re looking forward to returning. Amazing. Just amazing.

We enjoyed our second visit to this property and look forward to more visits. The view is exceptional as the house is on a bluff overlooking a wide river view. We sighted bald eagles, osprey, hummingbirds, cardinals and so many other birds while drinking coffee and enjoying slow mornings on the covered patio. We used the kayaks and canoe for trips to Sharktooth Island where we found many shark teeth, stingray teeth and beach glass. We enjoyed time around the outside fire pit making hot dogs, mountain pies and smores. The gas grill was useful to make cheeseburgers for dinner. The property is very secluded and private and is well suited for a family retreat. The house is equipped with everything you need for cooking meals, playing games, reading books or watching movies. Additionally, the owner supplies linens (sheets, blankets, towels), paper products (toilet paper, napkins, paper towels), cleaning supplies and shower products. We definitely recommend this property!

We had an unforgettable Memorial Day weekend at Ana’s beautiful beachside home! Peaceful, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly well-equipped, it was the perfect getaway. The house was immaculate, modern and charming with all new appliances, including a huge washer and dryer, which made cooking and cleanup easy. The kitchen was stocked with tons of dishes, utensils, cookware, spices, bottled water, and other essentials. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap, cleaning supplies, a hairdryer, and a very well-stocked first aid kit. The beach was a dream—quiet, scenic, and just steps away. We spent hours enjoying the sunshine, gentle waves, and the serenity of the setting. The sun-drenched deck had comfy furniture, a grill, and plenty of seating. Inside, the sunroom was a true highlight—bright and airy with oversized windows, perfect for relaxing with a book or glass of wine. Ana is a fantastic host—responsive, warm, and welcoming. We can't wait to return. Thank you, Ana!

Jessica's place was awesome. We felt right at home. walk outside and being 10 feet from the water was amazing and super relaxing. the other side had a dock and more water. the area was super quiet and peaceful. they had everything you could need. the house was decorated nicely with a beachy theme. the kitchen was fully stocked. they had plenty of towels, linens and more. the owner Lee came by a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. if you looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing vacation this is the spot! we will be going back often! we swam in the river, fished, relaxed. I wish we were there forever! I've stayed in a lot of airbnbs, this was one of the best experiences we have had. thank you for an absolutely awesome time!

Kinsale Cove was a relaxing, peaceful property. The community beach was lovely, the house was very comfortable, even the bed! Water view from almost every room. The ping pong table was a blast. Maria is excellent. She communicates promptly, honestly and even mailed my bag I left there back to me!!! Wonderful experience overall.

This was our family's second stay at The River House. We had another relaxing and fun week! Kayaking across to the state park is one of our favorite things to do there. We also enjoy shopping and eating in Leonardtown. We had one rainy day, but reading on the day bed with a beautiful view (in spite of the weather) and working on a puzzle were an enjoyable way to spend the day. We hiked out to Calvert Cliffs State Park one day and enjoyed lunch on Solomons Island on the way back. John's pet friendly Airbnb is such an awesome place to vacation with our dogs. One of them loves to fetch her floating stick off the little beach area and play frisbee in the yard (bring a long leash that you can tie to the badminton net poles). Our other dog loves basking in the sun in the yard and on the deck. There are so many great things about this place, but the sunsets alone are worth the stay!

First off the view is amazing! The home is private and very relaxing. We enjoyed the sunset over looking the river and had a fire lit at the same time. Neighbors were very friendly and informative. We did meet Jenny who allowed us through her garden to the small beach area. Very sweet little community. We visited Leonardstown and enjoyed Sweet Rays restaurant and Ruddy duck in St George’s Island for a spectacular water view dining. (Only 15 mins from the house). We also drove to Solomon’s island just 25 mins from the house but worth the drive. I will definitely miss the swivel chair overlooking the water in the house aswell as the adjustable bed with a view upstairs. All in all we had a great reunion with my daughter and son in law and created many memories both in the home and surrounding areas. Don’t miss Heritage chocolatier in Leonardstown, artisan gift shop, plus the indoor market with over 97 vendors including blackpoint chocolate gifts and our favorite spot was Social coffee.

My daughter found this gem online to book for my 65th birthday and a family get-together on the Northern Neck. We stay in Airbnb homes quite frequently all over the world and this is the loveliest home we've had the good fortune to stay in. Christine is the most gracious host and this home is special because she has made it that way for her family. It's a huge difference to stay in a vacation home that the host rents and a home that the host lives in. Christine's eye for beauty is exquisite and the home is comfortable as well as beautiful. It seldom happens that you say, "I wish the house had (fill in the blank)" and this house has it. The river is a gorgeous backdrop and there are kayaks to use. The saltwater pool is a great addition and a reason to hang at the house. And there is everything one needs to knock out a meal or if you don't want to cook, plenty of places to eat in the area. All in all, this house is a 15 out of 10!!

My family and I had a terrific stay. The house was very accommodating, clean, and comfortable. Allison was a great help and responded quickly to every inquiry. The outdoor space is great - we used the fire pit every night and I brought my boat and kept it at the dock. We would definitely stay here again!

Misun is aptly named as she is funshine sun shine and david was the strong silent good in the kitchen and able cabana boy! We had a great time at their place ad loved all the little cute touches, The house is gorgeous, bathrooms very clean, we had all we could want, Breakfasts were really interesting and delicious. House is well placed to be near all the cool things you want to do adn right next to the beach. The pool and patio area were super cool. I cant say enough about what a great little spot it was I loved that it was grownups only. We had a wonderful weekend and would love to come again.

The area and view are beautiful and the home's decor is welcoming. The home was very comfortable for our family group and had a VERY well-stocked kitchen. The master bed was VERY comfortable as were the rest of the beds. My husband and I slept well. We all felt at home. MJ was very responsive when I had questions and communicated about the property in clear, concise language. The host provided many outdoor recreation opportunities, which included paddleboards, kayaks, and life jackets. There was a nice sized pool but we were visiting out of season so we did not use it. The exercise room downstairs has a lot of equipment. We all enjoyed our time together. Our family is asking to come back again next year. Thanks for a great stay!

This home was amazing - Jack and Beth were wonderful - everything we needed was right there - game room was perfect for the kids - the house was tremendous and spotless and perfect and I can’t say enough great things about my experience. I would 110% recommend this home to anyone!! Book it!!!

Misunn and David are warm and thoughtful hosts, leaving no need unmet. The freshly prepared food was excellent, and the complimentary touches were nice surprises, including Korean dumplings for an afternoon snack. Five stars indeed.

This place is a GEM. Dave and Misuun were extremely inviting and accommodating upon arrival to this beautiful bed and breakfast. They made great recommendations and kept the place very neat and tidy. Our room was nicely sized with our own bathroom and a really comfortable bed. We woke to well prepared breakfast each morning and really good coffee. We swam in the heated pool, relaxed in the cabana and played cornhole during the day. This place is just a walk away from anywhere in town which was convenient. At night we played in the retro arcade which had an overwhelming amount of games which were all free play. We'll certainly be looking forward to visiting again next year

The house is beautiful and very large. Three families with kids had plenty of room to spread out. The views are just as pictured and the finishes were all high end. As we knew from the listing, the pool was right on the deck with no fence, and this was stressful with our younger kids (as were the stairs). This wasn't a surprise but something to keep in mind if you're traveling with small kids. As another review pointed out the house feels out of place in the neighborhood. Melanie was very responsive and helpful and we had a great trip.

Thanks Nina! My family really enjoyed our stay. The place is well stocked for little ones (toys, games, pack n play, high chairs etc.). The kitchen is well stocked with spices and cooking supplies - the small private beach was perfect for my kids (both under 4). Great A/C and many comfy couches to sprawl out. We would stay again in the future.

Was such a beautiful experience. Such an amazing place worth the stay! The kayaks and canoes were so much fun. Very clear instructions a binder full of instructions and very clear. Also in the binder has lots of cool things to do around the area 10/10 it was amazing!!!

Beautiful cottage, well appointed, clean and very homey. The screen porch (with hot tub!) was a great place to hang out. Sharon was very responsive and an excellent host!

Beautiful. Peaceful riverfront property. Clean! Had everything we needed. Plenty of space. We only left the house once. Spent the rest of the time eating there, playing cards, watching movies, talking and of course, enjoying the fabulous river view! A nice getaway to truly relax.

Perfect location. Spent all our time on the dock and porch when it was too sunny.

We had a wonderful long weekend here! The house is well-equipped and David was even able to secure fishing and crabbing gear so our two kids could try to catch dinner. It is a quiet street of cottages with friendly neighbors in a gorgeous location - the view is so calming. We enjoyed exploring the local area (love the coffee shop and brewery in Montross), kayaking, swimming, and relaxing on the big screened porch. A feature here that you don’t always have at the shore is a great sandy beach! Can’t wait to come back for another getaway.

The view is amazing! This is our second time staying here and we will be back again! Watching the water, the birds and the wildlife was so much fun and we got some great photos too!
