The lodge and its hosts are amazing! Our only complaint is that our stay was too short to fully appreciate all that this lodge had to offer! My husband and I and our 8 children (ages 22, 20, 20, 18, 16, 15, 13, and 11) were visiting grandparents in the area. We had a fabulous time hiking the trails, playing poker, having a campfire, playing basketball, fishing in the creek, cooking in the kitchen, visiting with family, and taking in the amazing views. Several of the kids even said that it was good that the place didn't have great cellular service. The house is spacious with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked for any kind of cooking. We would highly recommend this home and plan to stay again soon!

The farmhouse was perfect for our family get together this weekend! Very spacious and the front porch with a view was exquisite!

Max Meadows property is centrally located to parks and other attractions. Home was spacious and clean. Not far from Virginia Tech whee we celebrated graduation. Had fun hiking at Claytor Lake and New River. Anika, our host, was very responsive and provided accurate instructions and suggestions for local restraints and activities. Enjoyed our stay and would return in future.

This place was the peace I needed! I had a rough year and wanted to celebrate my birthday but quietly and this was perfect and serene! I feel so much more at peace and it was sad leaving. Got to catch some beautiful wildlife and even had a river nearby! The hosts were prompt with check in information and even give recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc. Amazing price for a sweet slice of quiet and relaxation! I’ll be back for sure! 🤗❤️

This little cabin has become my home away from home when I’m having to get yucky medical stuff done in a close area. So clean, peaceful, easy is what I need; and that is this beautiful place! Haley is unbelievably wonderful! The home is amazing with fabulous wildlife to watch and tucked back away from the road. If you’re looking for peace, this it! Hands down amazing! Normally I’m critical of “away from home,” but not here! This home is everything and then some! You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful views and surroundings. Great back deck to enjoy the area. House was well set up and kitchen had everything we needed, and appreciated the coffee! Rebecca was super helpful and responsive….we had a great getaway!

Just book it!! Y’all, this place is amazing. The photos don’t even do it justice, it’s just too pretty to describe! Not a single detail is missed, and the views are incredible. This cabin just feels like home. Alison has so tastefully decorated it, and it feels like a luxury space with cozy elements in every corner. It’s SO clean—smells so fresh, everything is pristine. The covered porch is obviously incredible, but we also adored the fire pit area for the views and seclusion on top of the mountain. Yes, the driveway is tough, but it’s 100000% worth it once you’re up there. Like the host states, as long as you have 4WD, you’ll glide right up (just take it slow)! We had no trouble in a pickup with 4WD. I promise, it’s not nearly as steep as it first seems once you actually drive it, and it is sooooo unique and incredible up top!! I would live here in a heartbeat. Trust me, just choose this place! Alison was a wonderful host as well, and so helpful and friendly :)

This is a quaint converted farm house; from early century I'm guessing. The decor is nostalgic and the building is authentic. If you're looking to get away to a quiet area with all the little necessities of travel, this is a great place. You're only a few miles off the highway and there are no commercial enterprises nearby. It's very quiet and peaceful. It is adjacent to an old run down school house so the back view is not great but the spaciousness and grounds are very accommodating. The rooms and kitchen were all very well equipped and they provided the biggest basket I've ever seen of "things you may have forgotten" for travelers to use as needed.

Lisa's cabin was perfect for a family getaway! The cabin was super clean and was better than the pictures. The cabin was private and most bedrooms had a good amount of privacy. The attention to detail was beautiful and the location was perfect. Lisa was very responsive and accommodating to our group. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend it to families, groups of friends, or even for a romantic getaway.

Our Family had an amazing mountain retreat at this property this past weekend. The house was very quaint and clean. It was very bright and cheerful. We had a lot of fun playing air hockey and pool as well. We would definitely visit here again and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the landscape and river. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thank you for hosting us!

Excellent place for couples to stay. We felt at home there and we had very easy access to the New River Trail to ride our bikes. The location was also nice to visit my parents in Wytheville but still feel like we were on a get away. Thank you for letting us stay.

We go on a girls' weekend every year on the water. This was our ninth year! We absolutely loved this place and we're already talking about coming back for our tenth. It has so many amenities I can't even list them all. It checks all our boxes -- plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms, plenty of bedrooms, large covered deck, easy river access, great kitchen.

This house was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Clean and clutter free home with an almost fully stocked kitchen. We agreed the beds were not actually queen sized, probably full sized. Very easy river access and easy to find in a very peaceful area. Hope to come back again soon!

Wow! It was perfect! I actually told my friend that God must live there, it was perfect! Soooo pretty. We rode our bikes everywhere. Hung out by the river, and just chilled. Bill, the owner was super super nice. We didn’t want to leave. We hope to go again!

My husband, baby, dog, and I had the absolute best time here! As other reviewers have mentioned, the pictures don't do this place justice. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and out! There was plenty of room for all the things we have to bring with a baby and it felt right at home. We have stayed many places over the past several years and this was hands down our favorite place yet. We would definitely come back! Also as other reviewers have said, follow the written directions opposed to GPS directions and you'll get there just fine
