The deserted Dookinella stone village still stands in the field nextdoor. Keel village is a 5-minute drive with restaurants, local butcher selling Achill lamb and fisherman selling from boat. Joyce's Cottage lies below the imposing Partry mountains and on the shore of Lough Mask. This is the very best of the west of Ireland. Solitude, peace and breathtaking scenery. Visitors can either swim or boat from their private beach, go for a cycle (bikes available) or simply sit at an outside table and take in the spectacular scenery. Joyce's cottage is one of two adjoining traditional cottages (the other being Derrypark Cottage which is also available for rent).
