Holiday houses in Akoumia

Our time at Dafni's house was wonderful and we would have loved to spend more time there. It was one of the best AirBnBs we have ever stayed in. The house is far away from all the hustle and bustle on a hillside with a spectacular view of the sea. You can even see the sea from your bed. The beach is only a few minutes away by car. We were there on our own, no one else was there but us, it was wonderful. If you are searching for a place to calm down and relax, this is your place to be. Dafni and her family are one of the kindest hosts we ever had. We locked ourselves out of the house on the very first day. We wrote to Dafni, she replied immediately, and her father came all the way from another place by car to help us get back into the house. The house itself has everything you need for a vacation. The kitchen was well equipped, some things were brand new and everything was very clean. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Crete. PS: We were huge fans of the cats.

We loved our week in Eleftheria and Manolis’s hillside home. Our every need was catered for: we were given a warm welcome with delicious evening meal and other goodies; Eleftheria was full of helpful recommendations of places to eat; the bed was comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped; and the beautiful terrace and refreshing little pool - from which we could look down onto the Libyan Sea - beckoned each time we returned from our adventures around the coast and mountains. Terracotta pots brimming with geraniums and basil, and olive trees around our borders, made it a very special place to relax, though the setting is what made it stand out: we had complete privacy and utter peace (we heard only goats, sheep and the occasional distant dog). Séjour en famille (2 adultes et deux enfants en bas âge) dans le logement de Kostas. Le lieu est spacieux, fraichement rénové avec tous les équipements nécessaires. (Lit de bébé disponible). Le logement est très calme et propre. La terrasse est très agréable (En avril, il faisait trop frais pour profiter de la piscine). Deux tavernes disponibles sur Apostoli. Nous avons préféré celles de Agia Foteni (Sivritos) et Thronos (Aravanes). Rethymno se trouve à 45 min environs. Nombreuses promenades ou randonnées à proximité. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour à LotusLand. Nous y retournerions avec plaisir. Très bonne communication avec Kostas qui s’assure su confort de ses hôtes. Le seul point d’amélioration concerne l’accès. La route est en mauvais état et il est difficile de manoeuvrer. Dans la journée, nous nous garions sur la route principale (en contrebas de l’église).

Ήταν αυτό που ζητούσαμε, ένα μικρό σπίτι που είχε ο,τι χρειάζεται κανείς για αξιοπρεπή διαμονή σε ένα μικροσκοπικό ορεινό χωριουδάκι! Ελπίζουμε να το ξαναεπισκεφθουμε!

Very comfortable, clean and well appointed. We had a small issue with the washer and it was taken care of right away. Excellent service. Highly recommend! The property is located directly next to a quiet little cafe. We heard a little bit of chatter but it wasn’t an issue.

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft, sehr sauber und Panos ist ein sehr netter Gastgeber! Alles war genau wie beschrieben, die Küche super ausgestattet. Man hört fast immer die Glocken oder das Mähen der Schafe. Die Unterkunft ist etwa 15 Autominuten von der nächsten größeren Straße entfernt, wir waren trotzdem jeden Tag unterwegs. Zum kleinen Triopetrastrand waren es mit dem Auto nur 2 Minuten. Die nächsten Tavernen waren noch nicht offen, aber Panos hatte trotzdem super Empfehlungen für uns.

Excellente étape de montagne Accueil chaleureux !

Notre découverte à Akoumia d’une famille gréco-crétoise formidable nous a émus. Il s’agit de Dimitra et Costas. La réception a été au delà de notre attente. Nous avons trouvé un logement avec tout le nécessaire en arrivant: cuisine, salle de bain, couchage, serviettes de bain… La nourriture prise au restaurant, géré par Dimitra, est issue de la ferme-culture-élevage (chèvres, moutons), gérée par Costas. Elle est biologique. Voici ce que l’on trouve: vin, raki, lait de chèvre, viande, légumes… produits de qualité sains. Dithyrambique, c’est le mot non usurpé. Akoumia est un village crétois typique. 3 églises dans un parcours de 200 mètres! Une voiture est nécessaire pour visiter, faire les courses. Les plages, très jolies, sont à une vingtaine de minutes. Nous avons vécu dans un roman de Kazantsakis le Grec. Merci infiniment à Dimitra et Kostas Nous conseillons vivement cet hébergement.
