We absolutely loved our stay. The whole house is an adventure of discovery when you first arrive, much like visiting grandma's as a child. It's beautifully decorated – appropriate to the historic and bucolic surroundings it resides in. It feels as if the love of the family who lived there has included you and cares for you. We enjoyed viewing all the small treasures of history and felt relaxed and comfortable. Suzanne was kind, attentive and informative in perfect amounts. She is a perfect host. Book extra days so you have time to experience all the places to lounge and visit without the rush. We are already talking about when we can come back to tour more of the area now that we know just how centrally located the house is to so many historic sites.

My daughter‘s wedding was at the tent at Eastwood so we rented the cottage. It was perfect for getting ready! Really cute little place!

Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

The Galleywinter farm offered an experience we will never forget. Overall, the accommodations were comfortable with the surrounding farm peaceful and serene.

I had a wonderful stay. Ruthann’s place was beautiful both inside and out. The room was spacious, spotless, and full of light, perfect for a solo traveler. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, great water pressure in the shower. I especially loved the raised nook beside the bed; it was a lovely place to begin the day, reading by the morning light and listening to the birds. The private patio is peaceful, a well-shaded garden with comfortable furnishings; you can spend all day out there. Ruthann is just lovely. Her instructions for parking and accessing the space were clear, and she was very responsive and checked in with me each day. It was great to chat. I felt very welcome. I appreciated all the little touches, from snacks and water to the collection of DVDs. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and hope to stay again!

Beautifully decorated and extremely clean! Had everything we could have possibly wanted and the location was perfect for visiting wineries and breweries! We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area!

Leora's place is one of about 8 rustic cottages around a small lake adjacent to what appears to be a dairy/cattle farm. (One of the cows found a way through the fencing and wandered peacefully around the cabins 2 of the 3 nights we stayed there! There is a beautiful 2.0 mile loop walking trail around the property, as well as free use of canoes and mountain bikes. It is very beautiful, peaceful, and pet-friendly! There are a number of nice hiking trails within a short drive. We visited in March when it got quite cold at night and in the early morning. There is a good natural gas heater in the main room, and a portable plug-in heater in the bedroom (both worked fine, esp. after I figured out the controls on the latter unit). The cabins are said to have window AC units when needed, but they were not in evidence when we were there, nor were they needed. Leora was very welcoming and responsive & we highly recommend her place!

What an amazing sanctuary to relax between graduation events. Directions were perfect and the horses, they make the stay truly special.

Very nice place to stay with great views of farms and mountains. The pictures are accurate and everything was very clean when we got there. The furniture and construction are all very high quality (comfortable king bed). The AC worked well and was quiet. The other unit was rented while we were there, but there were no noise issues (you could only faintly hear the outside door being closed, but no voices). The pool is also accurately pictured and the owners seem very reasonable about letting tenants use it freely. It is 10-15 minutes to most things in Charlottesville, but I would highly recommend for a peaceful and beautiful place to stay.

My wife and I stayed here two nights while celebrating our son's graduation from UVA. Such a peaceful place with beautiful scenery, outside of the hustle and bustle of Charlottesville, yet close enough to quickly get into town. Wish we had more time to relax on the deck and enjoy the farm and countryside, but Molly's place was a perfect retreat from the graduation parties and a great place to recharge. She was a great host and we would return.

A beautiful little home on an absolutely stunning farm. Sam was a helpful and attentive host who was always quick to respond. We found ourselves enjoying our time on the farm even more than our time off it! The farm cat was an absolute riot to watch playing outside. He is a sweetheart!

We rented all three cottages for a family get away! We attended a wedding at Keswick Winery, it is 12 min away. The cottages are quaint and outfitted well for me to fix food for a family of 6. We enjoyed a mid morning lounging at the pool, and spending family time together before the wedding.

This lovely cottage is nestled between hills and orchards just off a winding country road through stunning fields and woods. The view is so peaceful off the back deck. Beds are very comfortable. Many things to do close by. Great biscuits at the Batesville Market about 2 miles away. Charlottesville is a charming town with lots of great restaurants and only about 25 minutes from the cottage.

Wonderful, peaceful place to relax in close proximity to Charlottesville. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to friends.

My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time staying at the Jefferson cottage The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The host, Steve, was incredibly responsive and made check-in super easy. The location was perfect, close to everything but still nice, quiet and so peaceful. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an incredibly beautiful getaway. ❤️ Thank you for the great hospitality!

The Inn was the best place to prepare for and stay during our daughter’s wedding weekend. We had everything we needed; the house was beautiful and clean; the beds were comfy. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and around the fire after the festivities. We received 20% off the brewery restaurant and the food was extremely tasty. We highly recommend the Inn!

We had a great time staying at Chevy Chase Farm! It was our second time staying here and we enjoyed it. The eggs, sourdough and fresh meat from the farm are always a highlight. It has everything we needed for a nice weekend getaway!

Very cozy and cute stay close to Charlottesville! It’s super close to town and easy to ride share. Property is very peaceful and relaxing to be at.

This home and hosts are both rare gems, from the ease of checking in to the homes beautiful ambiance, its makes a great place to get away and enjoy nature. We would love to come back and explore more of the trails and wineries.

Very comfortable stay for a night after a concert. Sue was very easy to get in touch with. We did not get a chance to use the hot tub. The beds were very comfy. The location was a little difficult for our Uber driver to navigate, but otherwise everything was great.

Beautiful, peaceful stay! My mom and I loved morning coffees on the back porch. Adam and Joy were so communicative and left no questions to be asked with their information packets, maps, etc. It was the perfect stay in such a beautiful area after a long trip from the west coast. Highly, highly recommended.

This was a perfect place for a peaceful getaway. The fireplace was a treat, and we had a very cozy stay. It's hard to add to what other reviewers have already said, but here is one detail: on a winter's night, when the moon is down and the sky is clear, the stars are fantastic! Because there is no nearby light pollution, the view from the deck of the night sky is deep and brilliant.

This is our second time staying at Tranquil cottage. It's a beautiful, clean, and comfortable place to stay close to Charlottesville and feels like home. We love the peaceful atmosphere and all the animal friends. And Cynthia is a great host. We'll definitely be back again.
