The perfect spot to take in the ever changing beauty of Haida Gwaii. Abalone Eyes House gave us a comfortable place to relax at the end of each day. The views of the mountains, inlet and town of Daajing Giids were breathtaking whether at sunrise or sunset. The place was clean, comfortable and spacious. We made most of our meals on site. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals, but you do need to remember to bring your own spices, condiments including cream and sugar, favourite coffee and teas, aluminum foil, storage bags and containers if making lunches to take with you. Mike is a wonderful host, so helpful and his dog Tender is very sweet. There is a staircase to the front door, but nothing even a couple of seniors couldn’t manage. The space is good for 2-4 people. Centrally located with easy access to and from the ferry terminal. When it’s time to leave, you will be wishing you had stayed longer.

Sherri was a super host. Hospitable, friendly and kind . We don’t hesitate to give her top rating. She generously shared her knowledge. We had a wonderful stay.

What a fun place to stay! great location looking over the water where bald eagles swooped by (and occasionally caught fish), on a quiet little street, but literal steps away from several restaurants, a grocer, a kayak outfitters (loves that!), a marina, a coffeehouse/bakery, a park and a couple liquor stores. convenient to the ferries, to area hikes, to water sports or just a great place to relax. house full of character, art works, books & games, and No TV! (so nice! - but does have wifi in case you want to plug back into the outer world, but really, why are you here!?!) bottom line, if we visit Haida Gwaii again, the first place I would check for availability would be Steven's place

The place was perfect for two couples. We stayed six nights. The location allowed us to take day trips and visit pretty much all of Haida Gwaii. We ate most meals there. The kitchen was well-equipped and stocked with many staples. We enjoyed eating dinner on the front deck of the house. Beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the beautiful local art that decorated the house. Tim and Skye were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had.
