Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Amsterdam

We loved our stay at Mabel’s cottage while we visited the Netherlands to celebrate my bachelorette! The house has a good mix of seclusion and convenience: there aren’t many neighbors nearby, which offers a good amount of privacy. It is also conveniently located right across the street from the train station - which is two stops (~15 minutes) to Amsterdam Central Station. If you wish to visit a different city other than Amsterdam on your stay, Haarlem was ~20 minutes and is another very cute and quaint city. The home was decorated beautifully and was maintained very well. Nonetheless, Mabel made us all feel right at home and was quick to respond whenever we had a question. I would highly recommend staying here - thank you again Mabel for hosting us!!

Hele hartelijke ontvangst van Ruud en Peter, direct hulp gekregen met tillen. De woning was helemaal naar verwachting, en nog een beetje beter. Een zalig bed, heerlijk fris ruikend beddengoed en handdoeken. Mooie omgeving en erg rustig gelegen. Zeker waar voor je geld .. en ik kom graag nog eens terug. Bedankt !!

Joost et sa femme sont particulièrement accueillants. Leur côté chaleureux a contribué à rendre notre séjour familier et sympathique. Literie excellente. Propreté parfaite. Le petit déjeuner apporté chaque matin avec le sourire était confectionné avec soin, bon et copieux. Ce moment était l'occasion de discuter un peu avec de couple ouvert et bienveillant. L'appartement, facile à trouver - est extrêmement agréable, bien meublé, accessible et dans un cadre verdoyant et paisible. Le tram qui nous mène en centre ville et dans le quartier des Musées est à 3 minutes à pied et les trams très fréquents. Nous n'avons pas regretté du tout de ne pas être en centre ville Tout a été positif. Nous recommandons sans réserve l'appartement de Joost et sa femme

One of the best Airbnbs we’ve stayed in! It was spotlessly clean (not a speck of dust anywhere!), everything had been thought of (including a welcome bottle of bubbles!), it was spacious, and very convenient for public transport....oh, and stylishly decorated! Being close to the train station meant that we could easily get into central Amsterdam, as well as go on day trips to Rotterdam and Zaanse Schans during our stay. Our favourite day was renting bikes in Zaanse Schans for the day and enjoying cycling through the countryside. Very happily recommend this place to others looking for a base near Amsterdam.

A superb place! We enjoyed staying at Monica’s place very much - it was beautiful, had all the conveniences of a modern home and yet a beautiful charm of an ancient place! The building is leaning and everything is at a slight angle - typical of Amsterdam and definitely charming. Our 1 year old who just learned to walk and kept wobbling to the leaning side which was funny to watch. Very steep staircase up to the apartment which again is typical to Amsterdam. We didn’t mind but it’s a workout for sure! Highly recommend for a very convenient location, comforts of a home and old time charm. Thanks Monica!

Joost was an amazing host to me and my family! It was the first time that we were traveling abroad with our 11mo son and he made us feel right at home- even had a travel crib set up upon arrival. The location is very convenient - right above a coffee shop which Joost gives vouchers for :) very walkable and overall great space!

Ruben's sweet ground Level Flat was perfectly Situated for our 2 night stay in Amsterdam. Located literally around the corner from the Rijksmuseum and the major tram stops it was so easy to get around. The space is clean and bright. We really appreciated the quiet backyard Patio after a day of exploring Amsterdam. We would stay again.

Saskia und Tijmen so liebe und herzliche Gastgeber. Die Wohnung liegt schön ruhig und der kleine Garten ist traumhaft. Es ist ein richtig schöner Rückzugsort zu zweit, wir haben es sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber und es ist alles vorhanden, sogar Fahrräder konnten wir kostenlos leihen. Mit den Fahrrädern ging es auch auf Tour entlang des Haarlemer Meer, nach Haarlem und bis zur Küste (alles machbar). Die Gegend ist sehr schön, die Stadt Haarlem sehr sehenswert und entlang des Haarlemer Meeres gibt es viel zu entdecken. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Danke für eine tolle Zeit.

This is a fantastic airbnb in Amsterdam. The location is very convenient and everything is within easy walking distance. The apartment is extremely comfortable, very clean and tastefully decorated. It provided everything we needed without any unnecessary clutter . The beds are very comfortable. Agnes was very responsive to all the questions we had before arriving to Amsterdam. We were welcomed at the apartment by Sander. He was very friendly and warm while informative and clear explaining how things work in the apartment. We really enjoyed our five nights stay and will plan to stay here again at our next visit to Amsterdam. We highly recommend it. .

Fantastic apartment, really clean and comfortable in a great neighbourhood: peaceful but walking distance to everything you could need. Loes and Fokke are wonderful hosts, warm and helpful- we had a brilliant few days exploring the city from the perfect base.

A great place for a couple to stay in Amsterdam, great restaurants, lots of sights in walking distance and very close to the railway station. This made access from the airport on public transport very easy. The apartment is spacious, modern and very clean. The downstairs bedroom is very comfortable with an excellent en suite shower room and free from noise as it is below ground level. As advertised, it is accessed down a steep spiral staircase which was fine, but would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. The kitchen has a fridge, and an espresso coffee machine which allowed us to make a simple continental breakfast. There are no facilities to cook food, but there are many excellent restaurants within yards, of the front door so treat yourself!! For those who like a Dutch dining experience, we would recommend Van Speyk which is next door ( where we went twice). Food, service and ambiance excellent both times. “My stay at Evert’s place was 10/5 stars. The location is wonderful - right on the canal, down the street from a lovely cafe and flower shop and central to popular and nontouristy attractions alike. Evert is a wonderful and warm host who has meticulously curated a beautiful and homey flat. He provides extensive resources on the artistic hidden gems of Amsterdam within the flat’s book collection, which I found helpful and charming. The flat is on the second floor of the building owned by Evert and looks onto the canal. Evert welcomed me and showed me how to access the property so I could come and go as I pleased and had the independence and privacy that I desired. Would be a dream to stay here again.

Yafit and Jerry’s apartment was everything we wanted and more! Such a beautiful spot and well equipped. Me and my friend stayed for 3 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed chilling on the outdoor seating area after a long day of sight seeing in Amsterdam. On our first day we explored Zaandam on foot and on the bikes provided at the apartment. We visited nearby Zaanse Schans which was great! The other two days we spent sightseeing in Amsterdam which was easy to reach on the train. We loved our trip and we would happily stay here again!

The location of this Airbnb is excellent — situated in a quiet neighborhood that made for a peaceful stay. The studio is small but cozy, featuring a comfortable bed and a shower with great pressure and temperature. Since the apartment is in the basement, you could occasionally hear noises from the residence above, but it was never a major disturbance. One of the best parts is that it’s right next to a lovely park, making it super walkable. Plus, you can easily walk to many of Amsterdam’s main attractions from here, which is very convenient. The host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again if I return to Amsterdam.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in dieser Unterkunft direkt am Strand. Die Lage ist traumhaft und die Gegend bietet viele Möglichkeiten zur Erholung und zum Erkunden. Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit – ihre Tipps für Ausflüge und Aktivitäten waren sehr wertvoll. Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr luxuriös eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können diese Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen!

We had a great stay! Hugo was easy to contact, gave us many local recommendations, and easy to follow directions. The place was clean, had a great view, and is on a quiet street. Location was great, very walkable to all of the main tourist attractions. We were worried about not having a tv but didn’t miss it. Just a heads up to people in the U.S.-bring wash cloths to Europe. All 3 of the Airbnb’s that we stayed at did not provide them. I read that they consider it a personal item, like a toothbrush, and expect you to bring your own. Thank you Hugo!

Perfekt gelegene Wohnung von der man abends einen traumhaften Sonnenuntergang genießen kann. Die Beachbars liegen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Zum Zentrum sind es ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Ein Pluspunkt ist der zur Wohnung gehörende und auf dem Grundstück liegende Parkplatz. Wir können das stilvoll eingerichtete Beachhouse auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

This place was wonderful! It was just as described. We enjoyed listening to the birds (wild parakeets and others) as we sat on the balcony in the mornings. The stairs are steep and narrow but that is just part of being in Amsterdam. One thing to note, there are 2 showers, 2 sinks, but only 1 toilet. It didn’t cause any problem for me, but those staying in the first floor bedroom will have to climb up stairs in the middle of the night. Overall, I highly recommend!

Henri our stay was very nice and the personal touch like ,fruit,beard,eggs etc in the fridge and the other personal touches in the flat made us very welcome,if we come to Amsterdam again i would definitely stay there,it was excellent.thankyou mel & henri for allowing us to share your home with us . A pleasure to stay here. Much better than a hotel. Felt like home from home. As a result of a great stay, will come back again with my wife. So close to the centre but also perfectly set a little away. Great restaurants, bakery and bars nearby. A great place for taking a run each day and of course, pick up a bike and take a ride.
