Cottage holiday rentals in Antigonish

Lovely home -- feel very lucky to have been able to stay here for a few nights because they often are fully booked over the summer. A large and beautiful home with a lovely sunroom + romantic pier a bit further downhill from the home, as well as so many different outdoor nooks. The hosts provide very clear instructions for things like kayaks, hot tub, and the inside fireplace. The hot tub definitely takes some time to get going (would recommend giving it 6-8 hours), but there was lots of kindling and logs to support us figuring it out. Would 100% recommend bring mosquito spray to make the outdoor experience more pleasant. Kitchen is bountiful with kitchen tools (pots, pans, knives, cutlery) to make cooking such a pleasant experience. If you kayak across the lake, there are also some hiking trails!!!

Kirk and Kelley were very welcoming and lovely. The cottage was easy to locate and had some stunning views of the mountains and the lake. Thank you for hosting us and would indeed return for another get away in the future.

Beautiful location and beautiful cottage. Pristine condition and everything a person needs to settle in. We came prepared with our own items but they have provided many things. It is set up to have an experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Get some lobster and relax!

Lisa & Jared were fabulous hosts! Their place far exceeded our expectations. The cottage was clean and comfy. Had all of the creature comforts we could ask for. We spent a lot of time enjoying the deck while our dog ran the fenced in yard. Sunrises, sunsets, tides, beach walks and relaxing afternoons sitting on the amazing deck, what more could one ask for!! Thank you for your hospitality! It was a great week!!!!

We loved our stay, the place is special. We had deer come right into the yard and the fireflies, at night, in the back field, was an unexpected and fantastic experience! Thank you so much, we cant wait to come back!!

I would highly recommend. Kristy's place. It is very private with your own access to the lake. There is lots to do with canoes, lifesjackets, and washertoss games available. Or you can just relax on the back deck and enjoy the view.

We had an excellent stay at Tara’s place. The place was super clean and decorated so beautiful. We enjoyed the screened in porch, the views and all the little animals ( squirrels and chipmunks) and birds. We were even greeted by a bunny. This place had all the amenities you need to relax and enjoy. We took our side by side and spent a day exploring the trails right to Sheet Harbour which was a great adventure. Tara is super responsive and an excellent host. We loved everything about this beautiful place. We hope to return someday soon.

Our stay was fantastic! The hosts were friendly and welcoming. We had to check in at their charming pub nearby, which caught my eye with its beautiful exterior. It was undergoing renovations and we couldn’t dine in, but the hosts kindly offered us takeout. The food was delicious, and they even hand-delivered it to our Airbnb, which was a nice touch! The view from the cottage was amazing, and nothing beats enjoying it from the hot tub. I have no complaints at all! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a wonderful getaway.

We had a wonderful family vacation at Macloud Cove. My niece and nephews enjoyed playing in the water. I enjoyed drinking tea on the deck. Everyone enjoyed how close it was to the Cabot Trail and Sydney. It was lovely. Highly recommend it.

Super laid back area, lots of room in the backyard if you were to travel with kids or pets! Super open concept and was super homey

Maggie is such a thoughtful host. The amenities available/provided are everything and more than you'll need on your travels. I loved how peaceful and clean the property was. I would love to stay here again if I'm blessed to visit Cape Breton in the future.

We are very happy with our seven night stay there. The kitchen was well equipped, so we were able to prepare almost all of our meals. Eileen greeted us with homemade biscuits and some thoughtful fridge provisions sufficient to get our next morning off to a cozy start. She made an effort to help us access Wi-Fi in the town of Inverness, but it turned out the cottage had good cell reception so we could use phones as hotspots to get a little work done such that we could really vacation in confidence. We were delighted to see a pair of bald eagles on the shore of the property, well as loons and kingfishers and many other birds. Our stay was in mid September, and the weather was delicious, sunny, with a crisp bite to the air on our last couple of days. Congratulations to Eileen on creating a charming getaway, I wish we had stayed three or four more days.

Beautiful house, lots of well-kept outdoor space. Hosts very responsive to questions. Would definitely stay again.

Jody’s place was perfect for a one night stay along our road trip. Very peaceful and quiet surroundings. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the trails on the property due to it being bug season but the quick walk to the brook at the back of the property was lovely (loved watching and listening to the resident raven family!) Jody was the most friendly and responsive host. Most Airbnbs have excessive cleaning rules but Jody really made us feel spoiled and helped us feel like we’re on a true vacation. Overall, a very clean rustic little cottage in a very quiet neighbourhood. Highly recommend as a stopover spot if travelling through the area.

Barbara’s cottage is pristine, relaxing, and beautiful. It is private, cozy, the perfect retreat. Barbara goes above and beyond with special touches around the cabin. I recommend the cottage to anyone looking for some peaceful tranquility!

This was our second week staying at Trina’s and we love staying there for work and it is a beautiful place to watch the sunset every night for sure!!

This was our 2nd stay and it was even better then the first, and only cause the weather was better. Both times, the place was clean, quiet and exactly as listed. Even was able to have a nice campfire as Tanya provided wood pellets and a firepit. Top notch all the way. I would recommend any of the 3 Caper Cottages for anyone looking to explore Cape Breton or just looking for even a weekend getaway. Will def be going back for a 3rd stay at some point. oh and the baby geese were ADORABLE!!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Great spot, and easy access to the beach. Will come back here again.

Janet's place was simply wonderful. If you are lucky enough to go there make sure you do the trail that leads you to the train line and all the way to the beach. Simply magical... Thank you Janet :-)

We had a fantastic time at the Doyle Beach House! Staying there was the perfect way for us to end our Nova Scotia trip as it offered a a great place to relax and as a base for us to explore Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail. The beach is at the bottom of the garden and was perfect for our children with calm shallows and soft sand but also with areas of stones for exploring. The location of the property is perfect for access to the beach at anytime of the day for walks and play and is also a short drive away from restaurants and grocery stores. The sunsets are amazing either from the deck or even from inside and watching over the water was a nightly routine. We couldn’t recommend this property and the hosts more and would love to return in the future.

Beautiful location, spectacular views. John was quick to answer any questions which were minimal as they made everything very accessible upon arrival. I would definitely rebook this house again.

Jared and Toni sent us a welcome message to make sure we made it in ok. The place was immaculate and recently updated, rustic lux. The bunkhouse, or shedroom, as we called it, was external to the house and was super quiet when the wind wasn't howling (we showed up in a storm). The view of the bay had plenty of wildlife and the supplied binoculars made the viewing that much better. Supplied Keurig coffee was a nice touch, but we opted for the coffee shop in Sheet Harbour most days, the oyster stout from Sober Island Brewing at night. Try the Spry Bay special pizza from the campground down the road, you can thank me later. We would certainly stay again, if they would have us.
