Holiday houses in Beira

We spent a week at Peter and Rosemary's lovely BnB and we could have stayed longer! The home itself is beautiful with a fully appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and a cozy atmosphere. We lucked out on warm weather, so we spent most of our time on the porch, with gorgeous views of the surrounding area, and in the pool. What a great way to relax after a day of touring local towns and riding horses through the countryside. We also found the local hiking trail that provided a fun way to see the history and beauty of the countryside. It was walkable to the trail from the BnB. Peter and Rosemary are amazing hosts. They welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home. We enjoyed their friendship and their hospitality. We would absolutely come back to their place when visiting Portugal again.

The communication with Antonio was always very warm and cordial. Very nice was the tasting of port wine. Can't accurately describe the great feeling of our stay. The place simply had its Genius Loci. ♥️ Thank you.

This is a tranquil place to stay if you are looking for spot to relax! I would stay here again. If you are traveling with dogs, note that their rules do not allow the dog to be left unattended in the unit or to be on furniture/bed. They have doggy beds and water/food bowls for dogs if you need them. The units look exactly like the listing photos. The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. If you are coming in on a Sunday plan to bring some groceries with you as there are not grocery stores or restaurants open nearby. I’d recommend going to Salto for a glass of wine and a stroll across the border to Portugal. This spot is also a great home base if you are looking to hike to the Dolmens or stargaze at the lookout for Berrocal de la Data. Thank you again for your hospitality. This was a wonderful stay.

We loved our stay in the Fontanheira houses, without a doubt I give 5 stars. The house has all the conditions for a couple with 2 children, very spacious, modern and beautifully decorated. My daughters say it was the coolest house where they stayed, they loved it! But note to those who have smaller children, that access to the mezzanine can be a bit dangerous, because the stairs do not have lateral protection, which for us was not a problem, as my daughters are already older. We stayed in the house farthest from the pool, which has a stunning view to the mountain (I don't know if the side house will also have). Great house to disconnect from everyday stress and recharge batteries in the middle of nature.

We were 2 couples staying in this lovely spacious home within the walls of Marvao. Loved being able to explore the castle and its walls simply by exiting the house. Driving the streets can be very challenging but if you are a skilled driver it can be done, otherwise, immediately after entering the castle wall, stop in front of the tourist office and carry luggage up the stairs the lead you directly to the house. Then park in the public car park. The house has many bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and functional kitchen. Highly recommend this home for your Marvao stay!!!

amazing place, everything is really wonderful and the care in every detail is remarkable.

The house is wonderful, beautiful and impressive. It is also situated in a beautiful enclave. Everything is perfectly equipped and clean. Joana was super friendly and was always in touch, she answered us at all times quickly when we needed it. The area allows you to enjoy great routes and waterfalls, as well as disconnect and enjoy nature. We have undoubtedly been short and it is an experience to repeat. Being able to go with our dog is a huge bonus. Totally recommendable.
