Holiday houses in Bolt Head

Paul's property was very well maintained with all fittings in good working order. It seemed to have been recently refurbished very professionally. The central location and private, secure parking was a major plus - and saved some expense. The instructions we received included picrures of the items referred to - particularly finding and accessing the property. Probably one of the best airbnb's I've stayed in.

Freya was very helpful and communicative from the day of the booking to the day of check-in. Gave very clear directions to finding the apartment and a listing of restaurants, shops and other activities to do. the property is located in the heart of Salcombe and therefore meant less driving and easy access to everything. Already planning a trip back there next year with the family, but for a longer stay. Such a beautiful apartment and breathtaking views from the balcony. 😍

We had the most incredible stay at this property. The views alone were some of the best we’ve ever experienced, with the deck overlooking the sea. The beach is a short walk down the cliff side from the property (the walk back up is a workout to say the least, especially on a boiling hot day!) and a stroll across the sand couldn’t have been more peaceful. Christian was a great host and was quick to respond to any questions. This is the perfect place to switch off, with bedrooms with great views and a spacious living room and kitchen. The only thing we’d suggest is possibly bringing your own essentials, such as milk, butter and cooking bits as local shops are about a 15 minute drive. Overall we can’t recommend this place enough, we really needed to reset after a hectic few months and we finally managed to here for which we are so grateful.

We had the most amazing week with our 4 boys at The Old Guard in May. We have been renting various properties in Hope Cove for many years. Wendy's property is now our absolute favourite!! Not only did we have fabulous weather but the location is just perfect for getting out on the kayaks etc The warm outdoor shower is brilliant for when you get back! The balcony is very large and a great space! The views from the balcony are spectacular and the sunsets incredible. The kitchen had everything you need. They utility area with washer and dryer is very useful staying with a family. The property was really well designed & clean and comfortable to stay in. Wendy had said the parking would be tight, but we got our 2 vehicles in no problem just a bit of time to go back and forth and one is a long wheelbase Mercedes Vito! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again! Thank you Wendy for all your messages and prompt replies when we had any questions.

The listing really doesn't do this place justice. If you've ever glamped before, I can assure you that it won't have been provisioned as well as this place was! There was everything from cooking utensils, right through to tea, coffee and marshmallows. They have thought of everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. The location is great. The two bell tents are on a very peaceful and pretty piece of land. The beach and Salcombe are within walking distance if you're fit. The hosts were delightful! They were informative and friendly. We really enjoyed chatting to them and they helped us with local information for our stay. We would definitely stay again!

Leigh and Gail’s place is better than described and photos. We had the most wonderful week, in rain and sunshine. The gardens are stunning and such a joy for adults and children alike. The view is extraordinary, the sound of the birds and considered planting and trees were such a special treat. The home is clean, comfortable and well stocked. It was perfect for a family with kids, lots of kids cutlery, and everything you need to cook from cupcakes to elaborate roasts/BBQ. The washing machine, tumble dryer and iron set up meant we had a very comfortable week with clean clothes after swims and hikes, and plenty of space to get ready for wedding. There’s plenty of books and dvds. It is a very homely and generous space with lots of paintings, mirrors and thoughtful touches all framing views of the sea. The main bedroom has a balcony and steps into the garden, and the garden itself has steps and lower paths in foliage for kids to explore safely. Overbecks and the beach was so close!

We loved our stay in the tiny cottage, the interior was beautiful and the shower was fab. Lovely walks along the SW Coast Path on the doorstep & close to East Portlemouth for getting the boat over to Salcombe. The local cafe & pub both do great food. Gara Rock Hotel is also worth a short drive to for a drink with a view. Sarah and Mark were so welcoming and it was lovely chatting to them; really great hosts and we’d love to return.

This is our 2nd stay at Bay View House. As a multi-generational family group, we all enjoyed it last time and had another fantastic time this time. The balcony is perfect for watching the world go by for those who don't fancy or can't manage lots of exercise. Whilst Salcombe has plenty to look at and there are the beaches and local Overbecks garden to explore, for those that like to get out and about. Almost all bedrooms have their own ensuite bath/shower room and the main living area has space to spread out. We hope to be back again next year!
