Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Borough of Barnsley

We had a great stay at Terri’s property. It was the ideal stop off on the way to visit friends and we found lots of things to do with our young children in the local area.

This is a lovely terrace house ! Super cosy and warm, really nicely decorated . I absoutely loved the style and vibe of the upstairs - such a Comfy bed - big bath ! There were also little touches like biscuits , coffee machine and sleep spray ! Loved it

Ideal location for our purposes, clean and spacious. Good to see a group of Yellow Hammers on the farm.

We had the best time at Danny's beautiful house. The photos don't so it justice, it's even better in person. There was more than enough room for seven of us plus two dogs, and the house is beautifully decorated. It's in walking distance of at least two convenience/grocery stores, plus there are some lovely country lanes to walk around (we found horses and baby cows about three minutes walk away!). Our children loved the games rooms and the garden is HUGE, so loads of space for kids and dogs to run around, plus some lovely seating areas. Barnsley town is a very short drive away, and there are lots of other beautiful places to visit within an hour or two's drive (our main reason for staying was to visit family who live in Barnsley, but we also visited Whitby and York). There are loads of local takeaways that deliver, and a huge kitchen with all the amenities and utensils you could need if you prefer to cook. We loved our stay and are already planning to come back next year.

Our family had a lovely stay at the Barn. The wood fire made the space very cozy. Beds were very comfortable and it was lovely waking up to a view of the fields. The welcome scones were a nice touch and we were given space and privacy by the hosts but knew we could ask for suggestions of help if we needed. We will definitely come back on our next visit to the Peak District.

It was extremely thoughtful of Brad to leave some well needed staples, which meant after a lengthy drive we didn’t need to go out again. The place was extremely clean and one little niggle was sorted out promptly and more than fairly. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, as Brad was fantastic at communication and very easy to get hold of. Thank you.

We enjoyed Lewis’ property immensely and felt totally relaxed and right at home from the moment we arrived. Lovely place from which to relax and explore the local towns, villages and countryside. Highly recommended.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 young children on a visit to Holmfirth to see my best friend. Simon was so helpful and went above and beyond for our stay. He ensured everything was set up for us including an extra bed for the children, fresh bread on the side, and milk in the fridge. Also loved the fresh coffee available. Our kids loved running circles around the the flat and Simon even made a point to say to not worry about the kids running around as his children even loved doing that when they were young. So it was very nice to be in a family friendly place. Even the fresh tulips on the table made us smile. Thank you Simon for a lovely stay!

Lovely little place to stay. I'm glad Emma helped with the directions as Google maps found it difficult, but I got there eventually. There are quite a few steep steps down from the parking area to consider but I'm sure Emma will take that into consideration for others who might struggle there. Communication was top notch and extra info.given for the number of a local taxi service. Lovely room with separate ensuite bathroom. Very peaceful setting. Lovely to hear only the birds in the morning. Only a half mile walk into town with all its amenities.

Rosie’s place was **absolutely perfect** in every way! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and right at home. The space was **spotlessly clean**, beautifully decorated, and had everything we could possibly need – from fresh linens and towels to a fully equipped kitchen and super comfy beds. Rosie herself was an **exceptional host**: friendly, responsive, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She gave us great local tips (like her favorite coffee shop downtown!), and was always quick to answer questions. The little touches – like coffee, snacks, and a handwritten welcome note – truly made us smile. The location was **ideal*– quiet, safe, and just a short drive to Peak District . We loved coming back to such a peaceful space after exploring Peak District. **Everything was exactly as described** (or better!) in the listing, and check-in/checkout was seamless. We couldn’t have asked for a smoother or more enjoyable experience. Highly recommend.

We stayed overnight at Diana's and it was perfect. The photos don't do it justice; it was much better and the living area, bedroom and bathroom were all huge! A great place to stay.

Me and my friends stayed here for one night, it was lovely, a quiet neighbourhood and a beautiful view, Karen herself was very responsive and was always available to give me information when needed, the kitchen was lovely and clean,.The description to this room was as matched, it felt at home and safe. Very impressed

We stayed for a single night while working for a couple of days in Leeds, much better than being in a busy city centre hotel. Cottage was clean and well equiped, host communicated well with easy access for our late evening arrival and early morning departure. Would return if we are in Leeds again.

a lovely place to stay, perfect for 1 person (though would fit two people). the host very kindly messaged prior to mention they supplied milk, butter + bread, noticed I was vegan and provided alternatives! there was tea + coffee provided, plus lots of seasonings and condiments in the cupboards should you need. comfortable bed, clean + tidy space and perfect for a 3 day trip. would definitely recommend :)

Myself, my husband, our baby and mother in law all stayed here for a long weekend for a wedding in Kelham island. Khateeb was incredibly responsive, accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. The weather was particularly hot during our stay, which was a bit of a concern with our baby, and he dropped off a fan to help us cool the apartment down (which was massively appreciated). The flat was very clean and tidy and the sofa bed was set up ready for our arrival. The location was excellent, we recommend The Grind Cafe just across the bar. There was ample parking a short walk away and even though the apartment is in the heart of Kelham island, it wasn’t too noisy throughout the night. Would highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay at Pawel’s place. It is in great location in the city centre so it has easy access to places. The inside was beautiful and we felt right at home.

Awesome value for money. Really lovely stay! we had been hiking for 7 days and staying in my camper van so it was a really nice comfortable break. We couldn’t figure out the washing machine but Richard and their partner (so sorry I have blanked on your name!) came right over and helped us! very attentive, and kind. Would definitely stay again.
