Picturesque, Historic Villa with Island Views

Gaze over stunning 180-degree views of islands on Lago Maggiore from the expansive, floor-to-ceiling windows of this lovely, 230-year-old rustic stone villa. Antique furnishings perfectly complement the historic architecture. The house is on 3 floors so a fair bit of walking up and down stairs is required. The main bedroom is on the upper floor and the 2nd bedroom (two single beds) and bathroom on the lowest floor. Ideal for couples and families but not for the elderly or groups of 4 adults.

Gadestatt is a traditional Maiensäss. A Maiensäss is a cultural peculiarity of Swiss history. These simple but beautiful wooden buildings used to be inhabited on the Alps during the summer. From here the cows were guarded and cheese was made from fresh milk. Gadestatt offers you an authentic overnight accommodation with lots of charm and attention to detail. The house is located a few minutes from the Formazza valley and from Alpe Devero. Its independent position with respect to the town, will allow you to find your space of peace and serenity at all times. The Terme di Premia are also just 1 km away. For climbing lovers, the famous crag of Cadarese is only 1km away and can be easily reached on foot. Most of the others famous walls of Ossola are just a few minutes away by car.

Our caravan is located 1200 meters above sea level with a fantastic view of the entire valley and surrounding mountains. The caravan is located on a private road used only by us. There are a number of hiking opportunities around the village. The caravan is simply furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom is located outside the caravan ca. 100 m away in a building. Piano di Campo can be reached by bus.
