Holiday rentals with a kayak in Bras d'Or Lake

My husband and I had an incredible stay here in Bras D'or. We loved the area and accessible to the Cabot Trail. 2 nights was not enough and we'd so love to come back!! Sharon thought of everything and more! This place was the perfect stay for our little escape. We played board games, bbqd and had a bonfire overlooking the river. We're so grateful for your little slice of heaven!

We stayed here with 4 other couples. The house was perfect for our needs and I’d imagine, for any large group. Each couple had their own beautifully decorated room. The kitchen-dining-living room L-shaped open area was spacious enough for all to gather. And the record player and record collection was a pleasant surprise! The outside area was great. We made use of the hot tub, an individual mini golf set and the fire pit out back. As other reviews stated, the wifi and cell service is a little spotty throughout the house. But we enjoyed our time together. Sheena and Bryce were flexible, friendly and wonderful to deal with. We would definitely stay here again. :)

This is a dream location. There are lots of windows to fill up with spectacular views of the ocean. The cottage is lovely and comfortable with an open space to unwind and soak up the beauty of the place. Lots of necessities in tge cupboards. All you need for an unforgettable stay.

Great stay! Michael was there to personally great us and walk us through the property. House is spacious and clean. Nice views from the front two bedrooms.. Kitchen was well stocked for those who prefer to cook. Good selection of spices. While there are resurants 10-20 minutes away, they all pretty much have the same style of food. So, having the kitchen was great. Didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the property and the lake as we only had a couple days. But if you have time, the lake is beautiful. Our trip was 10 nights throughout NS and PEI. So Bonus having a full size washer/dryer. Nice to travel with not have luggage with a week of dirty clothes. Will stay here again, but longer.

Laura’s home was exactly as described, very clean and had all the amenities you need. It is in a beautiful picturesque bay with incredible views - so peaceful and a great place to recharge. There are several options to enjoy the outdoors from a screened sunroom to an outdoor deck to chairs on the dock or around the fire pit. We made a day trip to Louisbourg Fort which is very close by and definitely worth the drive. I would highly recommend this Airbnb. Thanks Laura!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here. We explored the area and completed lots of hikes near by. We visited the Co Op grocery store every day and made our food at the Airbnb. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed. We loved the view from the kitchen and living room area. We also enjoyed having the space upstairs as well as the separate space in the basement. The 3 bathrooms was a bonus!

We wanted a chance to switch off after a busy period and this location was perfect. Inside was cosy yet spacious so we felt we could spread out and unwind with lots of games and books available. Outside was stunning with a lot of our time spent admiring the lake view and wonderful weather. The icing on the cake though was the availability of Kayaks and a launch pontoon to escape onto the lake and get lost in the absolute calm out there. We honestly cannot fault Jean and Angela and are so grateful for their responsiveness and happiness to help with any little questions we had. We would love to go back if they will have us again!

Tara and Lee were wonderful hosts! The house and property were absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed spending time on the back deck and evenings around the fire pit watching the spectacular sunsets.

Kirk and Kelley were very welcoming and lovely. The cottage was easy to locate and had some stunning views of the mountains and the lake. Thank you for hosting us and would indeed return for another get away in the future.

This was our 2nd stay and it was even better then the first, and only cause the weather was better. Both times, the place was clean, quiet and exactly as listed. Even was able to have a nice campfire as Tanya provided wood pellets and a firepit. Top notch all the way. I would recommend any of the 3 Caper Cottages for anyone looking to explore Cape Breton or just looking for even a weekend getaway. Will def be going back for a 3rd stay at some point. oh and the baby geese were ADORABLE!!!

Capers Landing was a wonderful gem we discovered during our visit to Nova Scotia. Nikki has put a great deal of thought and planning into making the home comfortable and delightfully decorated. Her attention to detail really shows. A high priority for us is how kitchens are equipped. This kitchen was both well equipped, modern and had stunning views of the waterfront. The Internet was very fast. The beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms had a luxury appointments. Our only wish is we had planned a longer stay. It is clear why this home gets so booked up. We spent our 10th wedding anniversary here and it was exactly what we needed and wanted. The deck overlooks the beautiful harbour- we were able to relax and enjoy watching the fishing boats coming in, many sea birds and song birds , even a pair of eagles who made their appearance several times. The wharf was wonderful as well, I read my book while my husband even dove off a couple of times - and the water was refreshing after a long hot tub soak (and easily accessible for a cold plunge.) We really enjoyed the kayaks and exploring the nearby beaches and even a little island. The house was exactly as described - just like my grandmothers house, with cool trinkets and knick knacks. The nostalgia was appreciated. Very clean, lots of towels and beds were comfy. No shortage of cooking supplies / cutlery or dishes either.

Beautiful location and beautiful cottage. Pristine condition and everything a person needs to settle in. We came prepared with our own items but they have provided many things. It is set up to have an experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Get some lobster and relax!

Everything at the cottage was fantastic; we felt right at home. There were eight of us, and the house had enough space for us all and enough bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the appliances that you need. It was a great stay, and I recommend it to anyone

A Dream Getaway in Port Hood Staying at this Airbnb was truly a dream come true. Everything was exactly as described—and even better. The home was in excellent condition, peaceful, and so thoughtfully put together that we immediately felt relaxed and at home. The location made it easy to explore the area. We drove to the Skyline Trail, stopping at Glenora Distillery along the way, and the entire drive from the cottage was absolutely stunning. We also visited the local beaches and restaurants. The Co-op was easy to find and had everything we needed. If you’re heading to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, I highly recommend taking the scenic route from Port Hood—it’s far more beautiful than the main highway route and made the journey feel even more magical. We’re so grateful to our hosts for such a perfect stay. Highly recommend!

Christine and Jeremie are exceptional hosts. They communicate very well. The cabin is exactly as described. The location is awesome; it is a very beautiful part of the world and they have maximized that with their property. Christine and Jeremie have thought of a lot of the little things; from the trails on the property, to the gazebo, from the lights leading down to the beach, to the beautiful back porch. I really can’t say enough about the cabin and the property. If you’re looking for a place to rest and relax, this is a great option. I think Chedebutco Bay and Guysborough are wonderful places. Charlie the dog gives it three paws up!

The idea was to chill out and recharge by the lake - and that's what happened. We had a terrific time and the staff were so responsive and helpful. Hot tub was excellent and looking out on a stunning view. Great little touches like a welcome gift for Archie the dog too which always helps!

Lovely place right on the water. Will return next time I am in CB.

Excellent and very kind hosts. The cottage was beautiful, cozy and clean. Our stay was very enjoyable we are looking forward to coming back again!

Roberts place was just a described, it has the nicest view in the mornings and was perfect for a home away from home while away working. Roberts place has everything you can think of in the kitchen along with a nice BBQ on the deck.

We used the place as a launching point for the Cabot Trail and it was perfection. April is not the best month in Cape Breton and the winds were up. The place is so solidly built that we were cozy and warm - enjoying the great fire and wonderful views. We are the rare couple that have special accessibility requirements. This place is so well done - universal and simple design. We appreciate the host taking such care to make this a welcoming place. We hope to return - maybe when we can enjoy the outdoors more comfortably - the views and natural setting are stunning. Thanks to the local team including Jennifer who brought us some additional items we needed. So friendly and hospitable. Finally, thanks for making Roxie so welcome - the dog bowls with a view - she liked is as much as Les and I did.
