Amazing stay, full of history and natural beauty. The building really is awesome, commanding great views across the fjord, with covered outside seating for bad weather. Kitchen fully equipped for cooking. Rønnaug is a great host. A beautiful place to be - highly recommended.

If you love nature, beautiful views, and enjoy spending time a little off the beaten path you should stay at Ivar's cabin! Even if you wouldn't normally consider staying somewhere without running water, you won't miss it! You have everything you need to experience the beauty of Norway. Ivar greeted us with a bottle of local cider and went through recommendations for local hikes. We took him up on his favorite trek and were not disappointed with the challenge and the rewarding views. Each evening was spent in front of a cozy fire while watching the sun slowly set over the lake. We slept so peacefully and were sad to leave Jølster behind! Ivar made us feel welcome and if we are able to come back in the future we will!
