Holiday rentals with lake access in Caniçada

We really enjoyed the spectacular views, the amazing terrace and the fun pool. BBQ area was a real plus and all the amenities were adequate for our party of six. Joao was a very friendly and responsive host. The main bedroom was large but the other bedrooms and communal areas were small with limited soundproofing. The location was beautifully private but the noises from the town and river could be loud.

And as if the surrounding nature and the tranquility of the place were not enough, we had charming visitors: adorable kittens that appeared unexpectedly and immediately won our hearts. They were a sweet and caring asset, which gave even more life to our stay. We recommend it with our eyes closed — and with our hearts full.

We love our stay! The house was impeccably clean and comfortable to welcome us. Cristina and her husband were very friendly and attentive! The outdoor space is excellent for enjoying family moments, as well as the view from the kitchen/living room, every day we dine with a view of the sunset. The house is very close to supermarkets, restaurants and even the beach and the walkways. We really like it!

Beautiful property with even more beautiful grounds! Eusebio's place is very peaceful, with a big pool, flat yard, and beautiful plants everywhere! The home was perfect for our family of 3. We loved exploring this remote area, as well as driving to Viana do Castelo to shop and eat.

The hosts were incredible, they walk you through every aspect of the house and send you local recommendations for places to eat and hiking. We loved it some much we contemplated extending our stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at Isabel's apartment in Porto! The location was perfect—right in the heart of Ribeira, just steps away from the Douro River, iconic bridges, and charming cafes. Waking up to the view of colorful houses and the river was unforgettable. The apartment itself was spotless, stylish, and cozy, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay—fast Wi-Fi, a well-equipped kitchen, and even some local treats waiting for us (thank you, Isabel!). The bed was super comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure (a big plus after long days of exploring). Isabel was the perfect host—responsive, friendly, and full of great recommendations. She gave us insider tips on the best pastel de nata spots, hidden miradouros (viewpoints), and even a fantastic fado bar that wasn’t touristy. Delightful spacious place. A bit remote, but also nice and quiet. Everything present. Friendly owners. And delicious oranges from the tree for fresh juice! From here, you can quickly reach the Douro valley.

very pleasant stay, we stayed at T0, all very clean and tidy, the villa is very pleasant and is in a very quiet place with a beautiful view right at the door, there are creeks and the sound of nature only, José was always available for us to help in everything, it was very nice, the house has everything necessary to spend a very quiet days in nature, it was all amazing, if you think about going back to the Serra do Gerês, with all the certainty that I will look again for the villa to rent out in it

The location is overlooking the river Douro and Porto, so the views are amazing. The metro was also very close by, as was the bridge crossing by foot, so we were able to get around very easily. The house itself was very comfortable and we appreciated having a washing machine.

The apartment was spotless. The location was quite good. Check-in is quite flexible. Mrs. Luísa is super friendly and attentive, she gave us some information on what to do in the surrounding area. I'm sure if I return to Gerês I will repeat the stay.

Perfect house, excellent location

I had a wonderful stay in this cozy stone house. The atmosphere is super quiet, ideal for those looking for rest in the midst of nature, and the house was impeccably clean and well-equipped. The hostess Célia was extremely friendly and attentive, received us with great cordiality and shared great tips for tours around the region. In addition, it was always available for any support we needed. I highly recommend and would definitely return!

A Hidden Gem in Nature! We had an unforgettable stay at this stunning farmhouse! The setting is absolutely serene—surrounded by lush greenery and fresh air. The highlight for us was definitely the natural water tank. It felt like our own private spring-fed pool—so refreshing and peaceful, especially in the mornings. The farmhouse itself is beautifully maintained, combining rustic charm with modern comforts. The interiors were cozy and spotless, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals. Waking up to the sound of birds and sipping coffee on the porch while looking out over the landscape was pure magic. Our host was warm, welcoming, and very responsive, offering great local tips and ensuring we had everything we needed. If you’re looking to disconnect from the hustle and reconnect with nature, this place is a dream. We can’t wait to return!

Ideal place to spend a weekend with family and friends.

I would use the word "Exceptionnel" for this stay. The chalet was almost new, everything was well done, functional, well equipped and decorated with a lot of taste. As the place is a bit remote, the environment is also very calm and relaxing. Would return any time.

Gui has two houses for rent, in a nice, quiet, rural environment close to beautiful Ponte-de-Lima. She is very friendy and extremely helpful.

We loved our stay so much that we didn’t use our car to go anywhere. We enjoyed the beautiful garden, the river and walking to the village. We so enjoyed the peace and quiet and the sound of the river and we wish we could have stayed for longer. Thank you Júlio and Patricia for being such thoughtful and welcoming hosts.
