The pictures don’t do it justice. A hidden gem right in the middle of Sarlat with a backyard and swimming pool to top it off. Mathilde was incredibly responsive. She thought of everything an AirbnBer would need and more. The weather was quite warm when we were there, so the pool was a nice treat. I have already recommended it to my sister and her family.

The river view cottage was equipped with all comforts. 3 nice terraces available. Beautiful view of the Dordogne, far away in the valley. Very hospitable stay. The estate is very quiet where it is wonderful to stay by the pool under the trees. Carlux is a 5-minute drive by car. Supermarket, bakery and great restaurant with only local products. Greg and Heather have provided us with a lot of tips. Totally great👍🏻

Dordogne Retreat

This was our first stay with Air BnB and we absolutely hit gold with Mary. Everything about her lovely home in Carlux is perfect for a large family, whether it be dining on the terrace, swimming in the beautiful pool or wandering her carefully tended gardens. This home is a restorative and tranquil haven where it’s impossible not to feel really happy! The views, especially early in the morning are incredible and with access to the river just a short drive down the road, it’s easy to explore area. The local supermarket in Souillac is just a short drive and the other local markets well worth a visit too. Mary herself is a charming hostess who not only puts her guests at ease, but also provides a wealth of advice and information on where to shop, eat, visit etc. It was on her advice we visited Les Tilleuls- a really good restaurant after a day spent paddling the Dordogne! It was just a superb stay and I really would heartily recommend it to those who love the relaxed French way of life.

Lovely characterful house in the Dordogne valley

We spent three days in Richard's beautiful apartment. The old farmhouse has been very well renovated, and the apartment is very tastefully and cozily furnished. Directly below the house runs the Voie Verte, on which you can cycle to Sarlat-la-Caneda without any steep inclines. Also very well located for excursions to the Dordogne Valley or Rocamadour. The kitchen is very well equipped, and we enjoyed sitting in the beautifully landscaped garden in front of the house in the evening. Top accommodation, Richard is a very nice and accommodating host.

This place is an absolute rural french gem. Maxime was a welcoming host and very responsive. The village is beautiful and the restaurant in the square was great for easy evening food. We were near everything the dordogne has to offer. The bakery, a 2 minute walk, sold delicious croissants and there is a kittle shop for any food top-ups. I highly recommend Maxime and Veronique’s gite. We would love to stay again if we are ever back this way. It was perfect
