Our studio is located in Carmel, less than a mile from the town center. The house faces out over Hatton Canyon and affords a private rural setting yet close to Big Sur, Pebble Beach, Monterey, etc. 15 Minute walk to Carmel downtown. A hub to explore Big Sur and all the Monterey Peninsula has to offer. Due to certain regulatory changes regarding minimum stay, the dates you are requesting may not be available. While we prefer longer stays, do make an inquiry to us about the dates you want.

Our cool and comfortable guest studio has a separate entrance. It is just 1-2 miles from Carmel beach and Carmel by the Sea restaurants and wine tasting rooms. It comfortably accommodates two. It has a king size bed and a small kitchenette with a microwave, wine refrigerator and coffee pot. It is located close to downtown Carmel by the Sea, Pebble Beach, Point Lobos and Big Sur. Petite but sweet studio built by our grandfather, Chaz, in 1940. It is one of four units formerly known as Piney Woods Lodge, where our grandparents welcomed travelers for years. We're excited to return Francy Free to its roots and hope you will join us (two sisters) in continuing their legacy. Gorgeous little apartment, easy drive to the beach, downtown, or the Mission, but still very quiet. We were very happy with our stay. Note that the bedroom ceiling is quite low - I am 5’ 6” and had to be careful, but I didn’t think it was a nuisance. Would overall recommend and stay again. Thank you Lisa!

Kevin truly displays what it means to host. He is informative, kind, and responsive making your stay super comfortable. We enjoyed his local recommendations for coffee, restaurants, and sites. The space is clean, unique, and exactly like the photos. There is so much charm and meaning behind all the things in this home that elevates the stay. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, peaceful, and so beautiful for walks . Good distance to nearby sites as well.

Great location. Walkable to beach & Mission. Only really good for 2 adults - not 2 adults & 2 kids. The Futon sleeper was very small and not in good shape. Pillows need replacing! Nice outdoor area for relaxing.

When we arrived, it was dark so it was a little awkward for us to find our way in the dark with parking and carrying golf bags and a suitcase up the stairs but it was us and had nothing to do with the directions. I think the pictures actually don’t show how big this place is! We used the patio every night. We took a little speaker and listened to music. Very nice. Enjoyed the golf. We ubered and drove to surrounding areas no problem. Went to Toasties for breakfast a lot. Enjoyed dinner at Spanish Bay. There was no Splenda for the coffee but we just bought a bunch and left it for the next folks to enjoy. Overall enjoyed the location and never had a problem. Would recommend.
