Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Carova Beach, Currituck County

This was our second year staying at the Downwinder and once again it was extremely enjoyable! The oceanfront views from the deck and big windows just can't be beat. This house has a great open concept living with unobstructed views of the ocean from the entire main living space and master bedroom. The house is modern and updated, inside and out. We love the deck walkway right from the house, over the dunes and right down to the beach. The shower and foot rinsing faucet at the end of the walkway is super convenient. Absolutely perfect for our family of four! Falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves is pure serenity. Do yourself a favor and book this home for your next vacation...you won't regret it!

Overall, this was a great vacation spot. Hosts were great! House was great! We had a small inconvenience with three people coming the first day to service different parts of the house, but once addressed the host’s accommodated our requests well. Location is nice!

This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. This home has everything you will need for a wonderful vacation-fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, wood for the firepit... we did not want for anything. We spent lots of time on the porch and it's a quick drive to the beach. I look forward to another visit!

This was a fantastic location with all need amenities. Perfect for my family of 4. Clean, well stocked, easy access to both the beach and a pool. Would stay here again!

Audrey’s quilted corners by the bay was perfect for a peaceful, relaxation vacation with my sister. We enjoyed being close to the quiet, peaceful beachfront and the bike/walking path into the state park. Highly recommend for a relaxing virginia beach experience. When we experienced issues with bugs entering the room (which is a very normal occurrence in the southern climate especially in the rain), Audrey quickly contacted us and eased our minds by spraying for bugs inside the room and outside the house. Audrey did everything she could to help. Be aware of the possibility of bugs given the nature of the climate and more wooded, residential area. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

These people are wonderful people me and my friend had an amazing time staying at there place! The place is exactly like what you see in the pictures. You will have there downstairs room to there house they will be staying in while you are there. It’s very nice that you have a walkway with access to the backyard gate which is where you’ll find your sliding glass door to your room and bathroom. You also have access to the beach bikes and the canoe which is really nice. Me and my friend brought our Blackstone down and cooked with Brad aka Sammy Hagar , lots of cool stories were shared. I had an amazing stay and I would definitely go back in the future. These people are wonderful host and the have all the suggestions of what to do , where to go

Gia’s DuckUtopia was everything we hoped it would be! There was something for everyone in my family. Although Gia provided lots of ideas and tips for the area, we loved just hanging out. The views of the sound were amazing. The pool and hot tub were perfect. My husband and son enjoyed the kayaks. My husband and daughter also enjoyed fishing for crab. Cleaning up with the outdoor shower after the beach was so easy. We loved all the amenities, especially the kitchen gadgets! All we needed to bring was food and towels for the beach. The place was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. We hope to return next year…to finish the ping pong match that got rained out! What a relaxing time! Thanks, Gia!

Beautiful home in a peaceful location. Farther from attractions and restaurants but perfect for families that want to cook and have more space to themselves. Beach area by the property is pristine and close enough to walk- plenty of horses to be seen without buying the tour. Highly recommend!

Absolutely phenomenal, 10 Star host!! Pat communicated with me throughout our booking and stay. During our stay we did have a few questions and she answered quickly. She has a convenient ice maker within the space and while we were there it broke. She immediately ordered a new one and was going to send Chuck to get us bags of ice until the new one arrived. We weren't worried about it but just the thought of them doing that was a plus! She met us at check-in and was very thorough explaining not just everything about the space but also a whole lot about the area, places to go, things to do and such. Both Pat and Chuck are extremely friendly and easy to talk to!! All the extras she included for us was absolutely amazing! She truly thinks about her guests and we could tell it's not just a money thing for them! Just as described, the beach is literally about 100 steps away and so totally enjoyable!! We will definitely be staying at Heathsville OBX in the near future! Thank you so, so much!

The house was very pretty and comfortable. It's close to a lot of restaurants and things to do. Katie is great and made checking in and out a breeze.

Nataly’s place was awesome! We’ve already discussed staying here again. It was close enough to the beach to walk, but far enough away that we could feel secluded & “safe” & away from the hustle & bustle.

We (and our dogs) had a lovely stay at Erin’s! The views were incredible, the location was so convenient for things to do close by, and the place was stunning. We will definitely be back!!

Everything was accurately described and very clean. We enjoyed our stay!

We felt very comfortable and safe at Raisa's place. The house was very clean and quiet, as was the neighborhood. We especially loved the four neighborhood cats that kept watch over everything. There is a nice walking path along the water. It's short but pretty and well-maintained. I don't recommend walking in the area over the water, however, since it was very unclean. The house was just as advertised, and it had everything in the kitchen and bathroom that we needed. We also found the bed very comfortable. We came for a concert at Virginia Beach, and this was a great, budget-friendly alternative to a hotel there. The Dome was a manageable driving distance, and we found plenty to do near Portsmouth. We highly recommend the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk and the Dismal Swamp State Park (just a half-hour drive in NC). Thanks to Raisa for being so responsive and friendly!

I love visiting all of the Outer Banks beaches in the Summer what I don’t like is the price to stay in OBX. I always stay in Elizabeth City and drive the 50 minutes down from EC. Donnie’s place was a perfect stay for that! It has all the essentials you need and it’s very quaint!

Jonathan place is incredible! He has thought of everything. Very helpful! I asked about a blender and he bought one for the place. The bath is incredible! I will be staying here the next time I’m here! My cousins live in the area and they loved it too.

I traveled here from Pittsburgh with my three kiddos, and as a single mom this was a perfect location and a great spot. Very clean, lots of board games to play provided for you. I personally loved the extra towels!!! Will definitely be coming back to this location

Beautiful, clean, and conveniently located condo! Loved having coffee on the balcony and being just steps from the beach. Great location, close to restaurants and shops. The host's list of recommended restaurants were spot on. Can’t wait to come back!

Definitely worth it, will stay again

The location could not be beat! We loved walking to Scarborough Faire and biking to restaurants or the beach. House was clean and stocked well. We would definitely stay again!

This was our second time staying at one of Rebecca and Sean’s VA Beach condos — and the experience did not disappoint! This is just a perfect location, at the very end of the Boardwalk, with a private grassy lawn and outdoor seating just for the condo residents. Lots of restaurants in the surrounding blocks. Our favorite thing is the view — you look right out onto the ocean from the patio, and you can see the beach and the sunrise from the comfortable bed each morning. We spent unhurried hours sitting on the patio in the evenings enjoying the sound of lapping waves and the night sky. This cozy studio was just right for the two of us. Highly recommend. I’ve no doubt we’ll stay there again in the future!

Beautiful home! Very close to the beach and boardwalk. Overall we had a pleasant stay!

I enjoyed my stay at this residence, especially looking at the Sound from the window and walking to the pier to take pictures of the nearby osprey nest. The place was clean and had what I needed so I could cook on most days. The condo is in a quiet complex, in a nice residential area. I liked that it was on the first floor so I didn’t have to lug my belongings up a bunch of stairs. The place is well set up for families, with a lot of beach toys and equipment in the garage. I would return again if I found myself coming back to OBX.
