Hide away and nestle in to your own fenced sanctuary and a bubbling chromatherapy bath…or share a relaxed, al fresco evening meal at the 12-foot outdoor dining table and share stories around the fire pit under Texas stars. (NO PETS. Infants & well-behaved CHILDREN OVER 8 ONLY.) Completely re-imagined by a designer/architect, this 1950's house was stripped to the studs to be recreated into a modern oasis of cool just ten minutes to the epicenter of downtown Austin. Appointed with every comfort, the home sports sliding glass walls to the backyard to allow the inside out and the outside in. An expansive living room gets even larger with the view to the backyard's minimalist "mound of grass" and the communal fire-pit beyond. A massive 12 foot long dining table adds casual chic to any grill-out dinner party you may want to throw under the Texas stars, or just a leisurely cool morning coffee. Just a step up from the living room and a theatre-style kitchen and serving bar allows even the most gourmet chef to have their crack at cooking anything from the local Whole Foods headquarters. Every amenity is available for the food fanatic, from induction cook-top to espresso machine. Two bedrooms on either side of a long entry hallway provide great privacy for a two-couple retreat. The queen bed guest suite has its own direct access to the backyard with a wall of glass, and its own accompanying bath. The king bed master bedroom is a technical delight, with a ceiling mounted, flat-panel TV that rotates for viewing in bed or in the chroma therapy air jet bathtub. A separate shower stall with digital controls sports both a 12" rain shower head and a hand-held shower wand. The master bathroom, like the kitchen extension is completely clad in a warm zen-inducing bamboo. (NOTE: This house can be rented with the neighboring house for large get-togethers up to 10 people, and the two together provide TONS of outdoor entertainment space including two dining areas, a hot tub, the fire pit, and outdoor spa shower with a waterfall head. Guests have the run of the place including the completely renovated 50's house, and an extremely private fenced back yard including a huge entertainment space with a 12 foot long dining table, a Weber gas grill for outdoor cooking, the fire-pit (wood provided), and the spa-like outdoor shower. The owner resides in a studio behind this property and comes and goes like the wind via the side yard discretely. He is available via text and happy to help expeditiously, but in general guests have all the alone time they want or need! Windsor Park is a laid-back Keep Austin Weird neighborhood where, like Austin, kinda anything goes! Trendy spots nearby include the parks, running trails and pools at Mueller, Alamo Drafthouse Theater, Halcyon Coffee, B.D. Riley's Irish Pub, East Austin Yoga, The kNomad Global Bar, Kirby Lane (pancakes!) and the amazing Paco's Tacos, just to name a few. The eco-friendly, HEB grocery center (.25 miles from the house) has everything from Starbucks & Liquor, to pizza & gas just moments away. There are busses which are frequented by the students in the area, and the nearest light rail is at Highland Mall just 1 mile away. However, like most of Austin, the most convenient option is to have a car. This property is used by the owner for entertaining his own family and guests. It's in tip-top shape and decked out with his personal collection of art and books and a chef's dream kitchen. For the caring and refined guest, this house is an incredible repose and a perfect way to really live in a "Keep Austin Weird" neighborhood but also be accommodated in luxury. The television in this house is entirely driven by digital content and does not include basic cable.

I travel often but regularly stay in the back house on the property. I love getting to know guests and if our paths cross I look forward to talking with you. Central East Austin is a diverse and dynamic neighborhood that is just a few minutes from downtown and yet still quiet. In addition to offering of some of Austin's best restaurants and music venues, it also has important history to explore. In the last century, highway 35 was a tool of segregation, with east (of 35) Austin providing a rich community for African Americans. See how this history lives on through a plethora of old and new businesses is this burgeoning neighborhood! There is a parking spot that you are welcome to use directly in front of the house and there is also plenty of street parking with no permitting or street cleaning concerns. The closest B-Cycle station is a 15 minute walk away at Victory Grill on 11th St. Many of the 6th St restaurants and bars are a 10 minute walk as well. If you would prefer not to walk, there are a selection of ride share services such as RideAustin (our favorite), Lyft, or Uber. The street has two names, Hamilton Ave and Richard Overton Ave. Depending on your map source you may see either one pop up. Richard Overton is the oldest living American and American World War II veteran at 112 years of age. He lives down the block where be bought a house after the war ended.

We live in Austin's Rosedale neighborhood - a super quiet historic neighborhood located in Central Austin. Guests have access to the entire private garage apartment which is fully detached from our main house where we live. Guests may also access the garage to store bicycles, strollers and other bulky items. We greet our guests and then are happy to provide guidance and advice as necessary. Enjoy your stay! Rosedale is located in Central Austin, just a few minutes from downtown. It is right next to the Shoal Creek hike and bike trail, making it easy to bike to downtown Austin. The MetroRapid bus stop for Rosedale is a short walk from our house. We have plenty of free parking on the street directly in front of hour house. Rosedale is located in Central Austin, just a few minutes from downtown. Our property is 2 blocks from Ramsey Park and walking distance to Central Market (groceries), Taco Deli, Houndstooth Coffee, Rudy's BBQ and more. It is right next to the Shoal Creek hike and bike trail, making it easy to bike to downtown Austin.

I had a great stay here. Austin is responsive and ready with neighborhood recommendations. The location is awesome - with a convenience store/cafe right next door which was great for grabbing beverages, snacks, etc. There are a number of restaurants and food trucks within a few minutes walk on 11th st. It's about a 10 minute walk south to 6th st if you're looking for a busier area. Overall, I loved the location and would recommended to anyone wanting to stay in the city. Thanks Austin!

My daughter and I stayed here while we were having some work done on our home. Not only was Johann's place welcoming with an open feel to the kitchen/living area, but the porch was always shaded and inviting. For our dog (and us), I love that it was surrounded by green space despite the neighborhood having so many great restaurants within an easy walk. Definitely chose right for our staycation!

Absolutely loved staying here! This unit is well equipped with all the amenities and more! Location is amazing and I loved walking and exploring the neighborhood, including the cemetery grounds. Loved having a washer and dryer in the unit! Everything about the space was clean and well organized. John even provided K-cups! While the mattress was a bit too soft for my liking, I realize that is individual preference and I was still able to rest well. Whenever I return to Austin, this will be my #1 choice for ABnB!

If you’re a runner or walker, the proximity to the Lady Bird Trails is a plus. Annette & Whitney were responsive and helpful. We would definitely return!

We loved our stay in the elegantly decorated beautiful home. Christie and Chad were amazing host, super responsive to any questions or concerns. We even had an issue with our Nespresso maker and within hours they quickly replaced it for a working machine. They went over and beyond to make our visit comfortable. The pictures are exactly as the house is, cozy and very clean. Highly recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back!

This little place was so perfect for our needs. It was incredibly close to all the activities we wanted to do. Very close to downtown and yet in a really cute and clean and nice neighborhood. The place itself is darling. It possibly at one time was an older apartment but all redone and upgraded, It has a darling area to sit at in the lower entry part, or you can sit up on the balcony, lovely trees everywhere. The bed is tucked in a little cubbyhole, luckily we’re still young enough to climb in there. You just have to maybe put your phone under your pillow if you need it by you for an alarm or something, since there are not room for tables, but we made it all work! We don’t sweat the small things, the location was worth everything. Oh, and not to mention the covered parking! The host went above and beyond helping in any areas we needed! Would definitely stay again.

This was a nice home nearby Downtown Austin and UT Austin. Super close to lots of restaurants and Activities but just far enough to relax in the suburbs of Austin. Airbnb was clean and spacious and the interior decorations are very homey.
