Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Cherwell District

This is the third time I've stayed in Katherine's 'shepherd's hut'. It is a beautifully situated, cosy and peaceful retreat from which to explore Oxford. Katherine is a great host, friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. I'm sure I'll be back for a fourth time soon.

The hut was absolutely beautiful, in a stunning location, very peaceful, dog and child friendly stay. Jonathan and Jenny were lovely hosts, and always very helpful. Highly recommend!!

Very close to, just 15 minutes, but out of the sprawl of Oxford; in beautiful farmland with fabulous walks and charming pubs, rivers for dipping into. Beautifully decorated space with everything one needs, quietly located in the corner of a field. Really comfortable bed with cushions, perfect place to read, with good light and a window. Recommend local-ish Mason Arms for relaxed coffee and papers. Good shower and thoughtful makeup mirrors in communal bathroom. Very quick response (booked hours before!) and kind and welcoming welcome.

I booked this for my parents in law and Sue was brilliant. Very warm and welcoming and was happy for us to visit them as much as we liked. Beautiful garden with beautiful views, will definitely be booking again.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in Ciara's shepherds hut. It is quite obvious that Ciara has put a ton of thought into this accommodation, it had everything we needed and more in regards to amenities. The photos don't do justice to the overall aesthetic and ambiance that we experienced upon arrival, the space outside and inside was very charming and we immediately felt at home. Ciara was also very communicative and quick to respond to any messages. She even offered a late check out as they had no booking on the night of our departure. There are some scenic walks from the accommodation and it is also a very lovely walk into the town centre. We enjoyed stopping at Bobby's cafe each time we were headed into town for a quick iced coffee (highly recommend stopping here). I will be sure to recommend Ciara's place to anyone who plans on staying in Stratford Upon Avon for a long weekend.

Absolutely gorgeous little Shepherds Hut, exactly as described in the listing. It was spotlessly clean and the food basket, Prosecco and milk were all really lovely touches. I would wholeheartedly recommend! Thanks for a fabulous stay.

Sandra was very kind right from the beginning, offering photos and clear details on checking in and the surrounding area. There was even printed walking trails with local history descriptions. The space is lovely and very peaceful, couldn't have asked for a better two days in the countryside

We had the most wonderful stay at this shepherd’s hut! It was incredibly cosy and spotlessly clean, yet surprisingly spacious inside. The peaceful surroundings were absolutely beautiful, and we loved seeing the animals right outside our window. Judith was a fantastic host - so warm and welcoming. She went above and beyond, leaving us fresh bread, cupcakes, milk, butter, cereal, and delicious homemade jam and marmalade (everything was so yummy!). She was incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. The hut itself was perfect for a weekend getaway. We were so comfortable we genuinely didn’t want to leave! There was plenty of hot water and the shower was excellent. We also really enjoyed the outdoor seating area. Everything about the stay felt so well thought out and cared for. We absolutely loved it and could easily imagine staying forever! Thank you!

The shepherd hut is located in beautiful countryside. It is compact but everything you need is provided. It was a fantastic base for me to be near my daughter & new grandson

We absolutely loved our stay! The hut has everything you need, beautiful and private surroundings and is spotlessly clean. We loved the fire pit and marshmallows! It is within driving of lovely towns and villages and was a lovely and relaxing break away! Would recommend highly! Thank you

Amazing few days staying at Swift! The Shepard’s hut was perfect, so clean and had everything we needed! The hot tub was perfect, when the weather was hot we did have a lot of bugs flying around/on us but as soon as it got cooler they weren’t a problem at all! The location was 10/10 we used the recommended list for a place to eat and to visit! The views were incredible and the loungers were perfect to sun bathe! 10/10 stay! Already recommended to all our family and friends, would definitely come back in the future!

The Shepherds Hut was amazing, so cozy, clean and comfortable. Trish has thought of everything. The table and benches turn in to the bed base, with space underneath to store your bags. The bed was really comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep. The shower was great, towels provided. It's in a really quiet location and we had the added pleasure of seeing a glorious peacock on our arrival ! Trish is a really great host, lots of attention to detail such as: fresh free range eggs, cans of gin and tonic, chocolate biscuits, milk and a bottle of cold water in the fridge. Plus marshmallows for melting by a fire and a jar of sweets. Games to play, a folder with details of local pubs (all dog friendly), maps for local walks and booklets of places to visit. We recommend the Red Lion at Castle Eaton, a really friendly and welcoming pub, with very tasty food. We really enjoyed our weekend, so much to do and right in the heart of the Cotswolds. We had a great stay at Shepards View. Super cosy and in such beautiful surroundings - watching the horses in the morning was lovely! The location was perfect aswell, so easy to get to all the places to visit in the Cotswolds. Our dog loved the enclosed garden. Hosts were very helpful, not that we really needed anything but all instructions were helpful! Would highly recommend a stay!

we had the loveliest weekend at Rachaels shepherd hut, the hut was so pretty, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, so lovely to have a safe secure garden for our dog too, Rachael was lovely, greeted us on arrival and left us a lovely lemon drizzle cake and milk for a very welcome cuppa when we had unpacked. even our dog was treated to a towel, treats poop bags and a feed bowl, these personnel touches made our stay so special, Rachael even bought a doggy pool for our dog as we were having a heatwave, the hut was a home from home, everything you need was provided, shes the best host, and we highly recommend her little holiday home,and we're definitely going back , we didn't want to leave!

The most amazing stay! Every single thing was perfect 👏🏼 The hot tub was ready for our arrival, they had put up a lovely anniversary banner for us and chocolates on the bed. Bryony was really helpful with any questions I had prior to coming. The location and views are just beautiful. We didn't want to leave and cannot wait to return. It was immaculate and we had everything we needed. My favorite place I have ever stayed in. Thank you Bryony & Joe x

A fabulous shepherd’s hut renovated from scratch by the owners. Everything was so well thought out meaning we had all that was needed and more for a lovely peaceful stay. We stayed for a couple of nights and walked to the King William IV the first night where we enjoyed spectacular views and a great meal. Ipsden itself is a small and totally unspoilt village with lots of local footpaths. My husband brought his bike and enjoyed a couple of rides in the beautiful undulating countryside. It was such a lovely place we would like to return some time in the future and spend a little more time exploring the area.
