Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Clayton County

Our group of 8 adults felt so welcome and comfortable in this space. Flexible check in and out. Beautiful view and all the supplies we needed. Beds very comfy and couches too. Any question we had answered quickly. Eggs and extra kitchen staples were so sweet and helpful. We had plenty of space to eat,relax and enjoy our weekend in the area. We enjoyed trains, boats, barges, bird, played bags Sunday by the tracks. Recommendations for restaurants in town good too!

This is my second stay at this property. Love the location and property. House is clean and everything you need for a great get away. We even caught some fish off the beach. The host are very nice and communicate well.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay. We are retired and looked forward to a restful vacation in a comfortable place…and that’s what we got. Comfortable beds, clean, well-stocked kitchen and easy to walk around town. Pikes Peak is a beautiful park with many walking trails and spectacular views. We look forward to a return visit.

House was clean and thoughtfully appointed. Within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay there again.

Good location to explore the nearby parks. Easy check in and comfortable stay.

From the second we walked into R lodge we felt right at home. It has all the amenities, the hot tub is amazing. Everything in town is adorable and easy to walk to. We had a wonderful time and will be back soon.

an amazing place to sleep, we really didn't eat there but had a nice kitchen, bedrooms, and living area. will be back soon, I would recommend it to family and friends if they want to stay somewhere close to elkader.

This is a gem of a property - the view of the Mississippi and lock from the terrace is the best in town. The penthouse suite is open and grand. This is our second time staying here, and we love it. Dave was easy to communicate with, helpful and flexible.

Just like during my first visit, Cindy’s house was perfect with a location on the river that is stunning and easy walks to shops and restaurants. This time ‘round my wife was with me and she loved the house, too. It was very comfortable, quiet and well equipped with everything we needed. We highly recommend Cindy’s place.

Another wonderful stay! Deb and Andrew were so great! Perfect location for us and they are just so nice! They always make sure we feel at home and have everything we need Trout fishing and hiking nearby. Great time as always!

This is an airbnb we just loved. We loved the decor, the size, the value, one of those places you'd live in if you could. Tanya left us treats and that was really great, having 2 bathrooms was sure nice so we could both bathe and get ready at the same time. Had a bit of an issue with the power in one bedroom and the living room, but it didn't effect our stay really since it happened at midnight and most of the unit still had power anyway. Tanya fixed it first thing in the morning though before we got up, and said we could check out whenever! i thought that was awesome and it helped us have a nice relaxing morning. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat! Also Virginia took pictures of all the cows haha. She loved them.

Mandi’s place is ideal for a couple or a small family or two couples. Plenty of room, two bathrooms with tub and shower. Kitchen that is very functional for eating in. Nice deck to watch the boats and people enjoy the Mississippi, a nice yard, privacy if you want it. Also, Mandy and her business partner are very gracious, approachable hosts. We came once, just my husband and I and then again with our son, daughter in law and their two toddlers and it was lovely both times.

Dawn is an excellent host. Her place is spacious, very clean with a full kitchen and full-sized washer and dryer. The bed (I slept in one—was there solo) was very comfortable. The living room space has two comfortable recliners with a TV and good reading light. I was in Elkader for a family funeral and would definitely book with Dawn again.
