She also answered messages within minutes and provides us with laundry detergent in the blink of an eye. Also she recommended us a great pub in Bunratty to go to in the evening. So sum it up: Just perfect! Thank you very much. We will surely come back!

Pete is a very special man, and accordingly, Pete's Castle is an extremely special place. If you are looking for your standard hotel room, keep looking. But if you are looking for a fun and funky experience in a restored Norman castle tower, this is it. Pete has lovingly restored his castle stone by stone, and there is some new and interesting feature everywhere you look. Pete - and his partner Eva, who is also a very lovely woman - care about their guests as well, and take care to make every person feel welcome and invited. This was our second time staying here, and I know that we will definitely be back again.

It was a easy to get comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and traveling tips were super helpful!

Connie was absolutely wonderful from the day we booked. She answered all of our questions and had excellent suggestions for catering and other services we would need. She helped us get acquainted with the house when we arrived and brought a lovely basket of treats to help us settle in. Any issues we had in her centuries old home were quickly addressed and remedied or explained. Connie is a lovely woman and welcome in our home anytime. The home is spacious and full of character. We had many guests from many places, so spending time together and being able to take day trips was important. The grounds are well maintained and we had a lot of fun feeding the ponies and mule. The folly, where we held our handfasting, was perfect. We also met so many wonderful people in the little town of Ballycumber. The pubs were a lot of fun and we were happy to support the little grocery store for most needs. This was a great experience for all of us. We are so happy we chose Ballycumber House.

Alan described it just well. Gregg was exactly what I thought it would be. We chose this stay because of the charm that we knew it would offer. Alan's place is accurately described. It is a work in progress in some areas but it was still well worth the stay. The castle is quite unique, and Alan was extremely friendly.

Staying here was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The moment we drove through the gates, our jaws literally dropped—the castle is absolutely breathtaking in person! From start to finish, everything about our stay was magical. Our hosts were so warm and welcoming, and even gave us a personal tour of the castle grounds after a delicious breakfast. Our room was immaculate, cozy, and full of charm—we loved every second of it. As an added bonus, we were greeted by their adorable local cat, Elizabeth, who instantly made us feel at home. The location is also fantastic—just a short walk to several great restaurants, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local cuisine without needing to drive. I can’t recommend this place enough, 10/10!

Wow. The most unique place we’ve ever stayed in. Definitely the highlight of our trip. The place itself: dusty, dank, spidery, tricky stairs, odd layout, weird headroom. In other words, a perfect “castle” experience. The history of the property is evident and fascinating. The owners have done a thoughtful “conservation” of the original 15th century structure. And it was great to be away from the touristy places, in rural Ireland, with mostly locals, small towns and villages, and gorgeous rolling countryside. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authenticity.

Lovely castle and room. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Don't skip the castle tour after breakfast. Mike was rightly proud of his work restoring the castle, and gave a phenomenal tour.

This location was exactly what i had hoped for. It is truly as serene and private as they describe, while being just a short drive to entertainment in Galway. The hosts were very nice, felt as though we were treated as family upon arrival

What an amazing stay! Staying in Ballynagowan Castle was a once-in-a-lifetime for our family of four. Chock full of character, the vibe was spot on from the gated entrance and down the long driveway to the tower appearing beyond the trees. We became really adept at the winding staircase and appreciated having both a rope and rail. Had fires in the great hall most nights and just unwound. Couldn't really walk anywhere from there, but had easy car access to the Burren, shopping/dining in Ennistymon, and were able to dress suitably for the medieval banquet at Knappogue Castle with the costumes provided. This was a brilliant private tower castle stay with just the right amount of 21st century amenities. Thank you SO much for making this possible - worth every penny. Thank you to Jade for the hospitality and responsiveness - it was absolutely grand. Wish we'd had the chance to meet you. Oh, and my 18-year-old history major and gamemaker created a scavenger hunt - hope someone enjoys it!

Excellent stay with excellent and attentive hosts. Very friendly, informative, helpful in providing recommendations. Also Elizabeth was the best cat!

This was such a fun experience, and such a treat to stay in sign an old castle. it was a dream to stay here for our honeymoon, and the complementary bottle of wine and breakfast were icing on the cake. It's so worth splurging a little, and honestly it's priced very reasonably for the experience!
