Beachfront holiday rental in Costa Rica

We had the loveliest time at this beachfront house. The pool is gorgeous - not too warm or cold. It was so refreshing to relax in the pool and stare at the waves. The house is in the best part of Esterillos, right in front of the “mermaid” and the tide pools. The house is well designed and makes use of all the spaces. It was clean and well equipped. You can also walk to the nearby store and there are a few good restaurants just a block or two away walking along the beach. It was an amazing place to share with family, we will be back!

Super private! Very cozy space, close to Playa Flamingo (a must in Guanacaste)

The location was less than a minute away from the beach. If you like running this is a great place to run on beach or run to Jaco scenic viewpoint. It was quiet and peaceful. It was not far from the restaurants and main city center. The place itself was great with WiFi and AC. I enjoyed resting here after a long day of activities. Spencer was a great host. We stayed one more night and he made it happen easily . I enjoyed that he wrote “Pura Vida” once everything was organized and set. Would stay here again.

We stayed for four days and had the most amazing time. I had tears in my eyes saying goodbye to Emerita. She and Diogenes were wonderful hosts who helped us with any questions and pointed out a baby sloth that we never would have seen without her pointing it out. It’s truly a magical place, Déborah. Thank you for your timely responses, accurate description, and recommendations. For those considering—know thyself! If you freak out over bugs, this isn’t the place for you. It’s Pura Vida. My son, daughter , and I loved everything! Morning Mother’s Day walk solo on the beach was perfection. We will return!!!!

This condo was exceptionally clean with a beautiful view. It was a very brief walk to the Main Street. Everything was literally five minute walk. They are picky with who they host (with good reason) because of how pristine it is. Thank you :)

Casa Baru is a beautiful home and a perfect location for accessing the beach and many great restaurants. When we walked in the door my kids said, “This looks like a celebrity’s house!”. The outdoor space is beautiful and serene and indoors is spacious and comfortable. Juan was super responsive to any questions we had and he had great local recommendations for restaurants. I highly recommend this beautiful home and Juan as a host!

We had a fantastic stay at Magic Place. Walkable to great beaches and restaurants. Marianne and Rob are so helpful and friendly. The pool is a lovely spot to chill during the day, and it's spotless. Barney the Yorkshire Terrier was the highlight of the place. Would 100% recommend their Airbnb!

The sunsets alone were worth every penny!! We raced back to the house every night just to watch the colors change. The house itself is quaint, clean, organized and quite perfect! It’s small but they have what is needed to hang your clothes as there is not a lot of room to leave open luggage. Our family ran and played on the quiet beach. I think we saw 5 people total.. great hard packed sand for morning and evening walks. There was a spot that was very dirty (glass, plastic, etc) from high tide that you would want to wear shoes to walk through. Giovanni was thorough in communications and quick to respond! His directions were very much appreciated. We knew there weren’t a ton of amenities nearby. But it’s no joke, when you leave the house pack what you need as it’s not near activities and has very limited eating. Not an issue for most - just a heads up!

We had a great time at David's place. It had everything we needed, was spacious, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the pool and the beach is within walking distance. David was proactive and helped us arrange nice dinners, had tips and was very flexible. Thanks David! We definitely recommend his place.

Bernardo's home is beautiful, peaceful, and situated on the beautiful pacific ocean. Everything was exactly as he described. The home is large, clean, and comfortable. The pool and the gazebo/pool house were favorites with our group! We were able to relax and enjoy the sounds of the surf and the breeze from the ocean. There were two pairs of macaws that would fly over in the morning and the evening. Paradise. The home is close to many types of activities in Jaco, Mata de Limon, and El Roble. We enjoyed an ATV trip in Tarcoles, a Jungle Crocodile Safari, and a trip to Natuwa, a local animal sanctuary. Along the way we enjoyed meals at a variety of "Sodas," small restaurants, as they are known in CR. We have to send out a big Thank You to Silvana, who tended to our every need. She's wonderful. Silvana gave us a tip about a great seafood restaurant in Salinas - Cevichero Arrecife - what a wonderful meal. We already miss sitting by the pool, looking at the sea. Pura Vida!

We had such a lovely stay. The view is extraordinary, and the space is comfortable and clean. We especially loved the big comfortable deck chairs on the terrace in the mornings and at night. The pool is beautiful. The whole team is so friendly and helpful.

Jimmy and Annette were amazing hosts! We had the opportunity to chat with them for a bit and it was a pleasure sharing travel experiences. They also have the cutest pup, Brillo, who loves treats and pets. Their place was beautiful, cozy, well-designed, and felt private and secure. Everything was clean and it was a close walk to the beach which was perfect to catch sunrise. The front porch, complete with hammock, was ideal for morning coffee and to take in the jungle. We saw agouti and heard howler monkeys daily. Would 100% stay here again. Highly recommended. A+

Our family really enjoyed this home - especially seeing the monkeys, having great swings for our daughter to play on, and an amazing rooftop view!! When the pool pump was not working properly, Rafal was there very quickly to fix the timer and was very personable. When in this area, we would definitely stay here again.

Cozy place just outside of town but a short walk to the beach where the Malpais tide pools are. It’s comfy and was sufficient for my short stay. I didn’t have a chance to use the tiny plunge pool in the common area. One should note that as noted on the listing there is little soundproofing so the road noise (mostly mornings - night is ok) is audible as well as if any of the other guests are talking in the common area which is immediately adjacent.

Gilles place is magical. I loved every minute of my month long stay there and was incredibly sad to leave. The views are incredible and the wildlife is abundant I don’t surf but the beaches here are delightful for long walks and I really enjoyed taking dips in the cool river and floating in the tide pools. I loved the daily workout of climbing the steep hill but if you are not very fit you’d be wise to rent a 4x4 or an ATV to get around during your stay. Lastly, Gilles presence on the property was an added bonus! He has lived in the area for a long time and offers great suggestions. He is very respectful of your space / privacy but quick to respond to questions and consistently jovial if you happen to see him outside. Highly recommend!!!

Amazing peaceful house surrounded by nature right in front of matapalo surf point. Very peaceful, lots of animals during the day and during the night. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom are very nice.

Firstly, thanks Lissette for everything! WOW!! Is what comes to mind, this home has a spectacular view of the ocean, that we could of sat, watched and listen to for hours. It was very clean and cozy. I absolutely loved it. Lissette was very kind and helpful, even before my check in. She answered all my questions about the area she provided great recommendations. (If i would of had a little patience...lol.)Lissette also have a very helpful binder with instructions, tips, and restaurants provided for her guest. Lastly, don't second guess it, if you come across this listing book it immediately, you will not be disappointed. Pura Vida!!! enjoy Costa Rica is was amazing!!!!

Hands down the most beautiful place we've visited. Our kids (6 &3) basically lived in the pool/bay for the 10 days we were there. We were the only unit rented out of the 8 houses, so we had the whole pool area to ourselves (and the beach most days too!). Our favorite part had to be the wildlife: howler monkeys in the trees right outside the house, countless scarlet macaws flying overhead, manta rays surfing the waves in the bay, and iguanas galore. Jeannette and Bas were wonderful communicators and so helpful with local recommendations. The setting is so beautiful that we didn't eat out once, just made food in the incredibly well stocked kitchen and ate outside with the view. Some helpful tips: 1) bring sleep masks. The curtains don't block much light and the sun rises at 5:30am making early mornings for kids! 2) It took us 7 hours each way from San Jose (traffic, ferry wait, ferry ride, etc.) so it's a commitment to visit. But oh, so worth it! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
