We renovated a part of a 40-year-old house built in 1985, and all the wooden furniture in the accommodation was made by my husband, who runs a woodworking workshop. We opened this private space, which is also a furniture showroom and our family's vacation home, as an accommodation so that many people can experience it. We have prepared it more meticulously with the hope that all guests who come to Suwon, a city unfamiliar to travelers, and to our accommodation, will have a comfortable stay. ... Dongchonjae is located in Seochon Village, close to Gwanghwamun Square and Gyeongbokgung Palace in the heart of Seoul. Dongchonjae, built about 100 years ago, is a traditional hanok that has been officially certified by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Korea Tourism Organization. Dongchonjae has been operating since October 2020, when a retired couple opened their home to guests. Dongchonjae is located on a 380.17 m² plot of land. It consists of one building, and the space is divided into the main building (Anche/Main) House), Sarangchae/Detached House, and Annex. Guests have exclusive use of the Main House and the Annex. The host is in a separate building. You will be staying in a detached house, and we will personally assist you with necessary services such as providing breakfast. We hope you can comfortably experience the tranquil beauty and subtle atmosphere of a traditional hanok at Dongchonjae.
