Family-friendly holiday rentals in Douglas

My husband and I stayed 3 nights to celebrate our 25th anniversary. After going through many listings and reading guest comments, we decided to stay here. We wanted to be close to town, but we also wanted to enjoy relaxing in the outdoors. Her home is beautiful! Some guests mentioned that it was a bit outdated. We found it interesting. It was very well taken care of and very clean! We loved the floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom, the screened in porch, and all the windows facing the marsh and Kalamazoo River. It was so peaceful and EXACTLY what we needed. There were so many birds, squirrels, and even some muskrats playing in the river in the evening. We loved the fire ring next to the river. It felt very private even though there are neighbors on both sides, which you can't see too well in the photos. We stayed Mon.-Wed. and there was no one around. The only con is that the Hot Tub needs an upgrade. It didn't bother us as everything else was perfect.

The loft was absolutely perfect! Everything was so clean! The beds were extremely comfortable! The amenities were over the top! Without a doubt, the best Airbnb experience I have ever had! Even in the instruction book, the host mentioned that they supplied disposable earplugs only because the loft is right in downtown Holland on eighth Street. They thought of everything!!! we absolutely loved the history and the music theme of the place! 10/10 without a doubt!! We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful property!! We loved the privacy and enjoyed the surroundings. The hottub was a definite perk! Had a great time and hope to come back soon!

We had a great time with our family and dogs. The backyard was perfect and we had so much fun around the fire and hot tub. Would highly recommend and hope to stay again next year!

Peaceful getaway on Macatawa Bay in a gorgeous and very spacious house. Full of great equipment. Ideal location and the view on the Marina is stunning.

Very peaceful to stay put here--bring what you need and stay in these beautiful surroundings among birds and gardens and an art-filled home. Or spend time on nearby beaches and trails, wander the nearby small-town shops and nice variety of restaurants and look forward to a hot tub soak and campfire. Donna's home is welcoming and inspiring!

Mark’s place was fantastic, just what we needed for a fall getaway. It’s fully stocked and felt just like home. Next time we’ll have to stay longer!

We had a bit of trouble with the air conditioning, which Kim took care of promptly. We really enjoyed this property!

Kym’s place was so cool! In the amazing Heritage Hill district with all of the beautiful historic homes. A big plus is they are LGBTQ-friendly- as a member of this community, it’s always good to know we have a safe place. And the space is large and beautiful, plus the best mattress I’ve slept on. Definitely would love to stay here again.

We love staying at Brian & Melissa’s place! It is well located, spacious, stylish and clean. We enjoy a beautiful day on the beach and some great wine and food.

Cynthia happened to be out with her pup as we arrived. She made the time to take me to one of the neighborhood's beach access sites so I could find the path on my own. Her place is well appointed and comfortable.

Absolutely recommend this place! It is warm and cozy, with a massive backyard which was great for our dogs to play in and for us to relax in! It feels very private and has such a unique vibe! Ann was amazing, she was kind, friendly, and gave incredible recommendations! Mason Jar Cafe is a MUST! Highly recommend and hope to return soon!

We loved Michael's cottage. It was perfect for our Lake Michigan getaway. An easy ride into town or to Grand Mere State Park; and a peaceful, well-tended landing spot for the mornings and evenings. Highly recommend!🌸

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be returning! The house was beautiful and extremely clean, the master bed was so comfy and the backyard was perfect for our pup to run around in. The location was also perfect and in a peaceful area, but also only about 10 minutes to New Buffalo and some amazing restaurants! I would definitely recommend and can’t wait to book our next trip back here!!

Always love staying at Happy Z’s! The house is very clean and it’s just a short walk to a neighborhood beach and a 5 minute drive to downtown. Great location. Cheryl is a wonderful host.

Excellent location!! Perfectly in between the beach and downtown. It would have been nice to utilize the chain ferry to walk to restaurants/shops, but since we stayed prior to it being open for the season, it was just a short scenic drive to get there as well!

Such a cute home. Right across the road from the Warren dunes. Easy to get back and forth with a bicycle. The cutest little ice cream shop right next door. Bed was comfortable and the bunk beds are roomy. Would definitely stay here again.

This is our 3rd year in a row to come for an extended Labor Day weekend and bring our kids and/or grandkids. We love the setting. The pool is perfect for the younger kids and the adults appreciate the beauty of all the surroundings, including at poolside. If we could change anything at all we would add another bedroom as we can't quite get all of our extended family here at one time. That said, we would like to return for a 4th year at Labor Day weekend time next year. The combination of beauty, privacy, amenities, condition (always in great shape!), and proximity to lovely South Haven can hardly be beat!

Jennifer’s home was absolutely amazing—beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared in every way. It was the perfect place for our family getaway. The kids had an incredible time and are still talking about all the fun they had. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Frank's cottage provided us with the perfect spot for a private beach getaway! Just a quick walk to the private beach, this cottage was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We plan to come back in warmer weather when we can use the pool.
