Outstanding views, 5* accommodation with hosts that go above and beyond and can’t do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Recommendations of local places to eat. If you can, take use of the local chefs to come in and cook for you. Family of 7 cost us €280 as a guide without drinks and was beautiful food. The villa is spacious and relaxing and perfectly placed to walk into plaka and short drive to almyrida beach with beautiful fish tavernas and water activities. Party of 3 boys (15,15 and 12), my husband and I and his parents it was the perfect house to have our own spaces but still come together. The photos do not do the house justice at all. The outdoor kitchen, outside bath and jacuzzi plus all the outdoor terraces to each room are spectacular. Enjoy, you won’t be disappointed. Hope to be back again one day. We loved staying here. We could walk into Kalyves and visit the beach, cafes and tavernas. We're used to walking so didn't find it far. The pool was so lovely, and the kitchen had all we needed. The views were magnificent, and it was great to see the mountains and the sea. Lots to do in the area - Aptera ruins, Kalyves Cruise at sunset, Chania, Lake Kourmas...Would love to stay again - a beautiful place in a lovely part of Crete.

It was our first time in Greece, Crete and it was beautiful. The house was even better than the pictures, amazing view and perfect for 6 people. The elevator inside the house was perfect and the kitchen was lovely to spend time cooking and relaxing. It definitely felt like home and we wish we could’ve stayed longer 😍 I would definitely come back to this house again. Thank you for everything!

We've had the most amazing week at villa Keronia. We fell in love with the village of Gavalohori and the villa was just perfect for the whole family. Friendly and welcoming locals, amazing food on the doorstep, 3km to the sea, incredible views all around. We are definitely coming back next year 😊

We had a lovely stay at Stelios Villa. Incredible beautiful surroundings, it’s a short walk into Kalyves, we didn’t realise until day 3 but there’s a small parade of beach bars and restaurants if you walk a bit further than we had been for first 2 days. The stay was lovely, the house was beautiful. We really enjoyed the village and it’s relatively slow pace. Stelios was very responsive to messages and very helpful too.

We had a wonderful week at Virginie’s house. The location is spectacular with views over the mountains and olive groves. Totally private, we felt like we were in our own world during our stay. The house is well designed and tastefully decorated with a well equipped kitchen. Virginie was very helpful and responsive with any questions. We were sad to leave and head home. If you’re thinking of booking, do it! A really special place.

Great stay at this lovely traditional villa, everything you could want for a relaxing, stress free holiday was available, plus some lovely welcome gifts. The villa is clearly a well loved family home and was immaculately clean and well presented. Constantine is a superb host - friendly, welcoming and helpful - instantly responded to any questions we had and sent us some great recommendations for eating out, beaches etc. We have no hesitation in recommending Kermes Oak for a memorable holiday in Crete ! It’s a magical place, it had everything we wished for! The outside area with an amazing swimming pool was the best! And when with small kids it’s very convenient that there are two good tavernas and a grocery store on walking distance. The beach only a short drive. There were mosquitoes outside and some dogs barking as mentioned in the other review but that’s at many places in Crete. There were insect screens and other products offered against the mosquitoes. All in all we felt at home and would come back.

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. The villa was absolutely stunning and had been designed with such an eye for detail. The villa was also immaculate and cleaned regularly throughout our stay. The villa itself had everything you could possibly want, the pool and hot tub were exceptional and the facilities were just as pictured. The games room was a particular favourite of ours. The host was also fabulous! He met us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. Providing everything we needed to get settled as well as for our little one! We cannot wait to stay again! An amazing villa, host and holiday!

The house is simply gorgeous. Our family had a wonderful Christmas holiday here. The host was very generous with items in the refrigerator and a well stocked kitchen. Lots of recommendations of places to eat in the area. Michael met us in the driveway upon arrival and showed us everything in the house, that was very kind. Especially loved access to the washer and dryer because we were traveling with kids. It was too cold to use the pool, but if you are here when it is warm, it would be such delight.

A truly unique villa, the views are spectacular and the villa is absolutely stunning. The garden was full of butterfly’s and we picked our own figs, grapes, limes, peppers and tomatoes. The pool was a huge highlight, beautifully designed with both shade and sun. The location of the villa is perfect, both mountain and sea views, very peaceful and there were plenty of lovely places to eat within a 10/15 minute drive. Kostas and his family were really lovely and very helpful. This really is the perfect place to stay.

We cannot have asked for a better place to stay in Chania. The house is a gorgeous villa perfect for a large family vacation. The location is on a breathtaking hill overlooking the city and old Harbor. There are tons of windows letting in natural light. You can be an old town in eight minutes by car or about 45 minutes walking. There are plenty of local mini markets and restaurants nearby. Michalis was a model host, and gave us plenty of recommendations for day trips, restaurants, treats, activities, and gave us very kind gifts throughout our stay. If we ever return to Crete, we will be staying here again!

This is the best Airbnb we’ve stayed in, like a 5 star hotel. The villa is beautiful and luxurious. Everything is new and works. Christina the host is amazing, very helpful. Each room has a well sized bathroom with a great shower. A breakfast basket was left outside at 8:30 am each morning - delicious! The kitchen is spotless and has all the tools you’ll need. There’s a BBQ. The villa was cleaned midway and the cleaners did a great job. It is quiet and secure. We slept well. The outside space is stunning. The pool is a constant 1.5 metre depth so perhaps not suitable for very young children. The local village is small and very friendly. There’s a great shop 10 minutes walk away, and next to that is a good restaurant (taverna). You definitely need a car here but I’d recommend you have a car anyway to explore Crete. The coastal town of Almyrida is 10 mins drive away with restaurants and shops. Chania and Rethymno are approx 45 mins drive away. Both have lovely old towns.

We have just stayed at Villa Angelos and cannot rate the villa, location and host highly enough! The villa is extremely spacious and very clean on the inside and outside. The pool was large and very well maintained, and this villa offers a lot of privacy from neighbours. The location was great, near the sea and walkable to local restaurants / shops. We did hire a car and I'm glad we did as we were able to explore some beautiful places further afield. The host for our villa lives in the nearby town and was extremely friendly and helpful before and during our stay. I had not used AirBnB for a foreign stay before and was a little apprehensive but Marcus and John helped me feel right at ease. From the moment I booked there was impeccable communication. John ensured we were comfortable during the stay and even was kind enough to supply groceries for when we arrived. We were given loads of great recommendations for locally and further afield. We will 100% be back!!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful, well-kept, and lovingly furnished place. Everything you need is there. The host was super friendly and gave us some good recommendations for restaurants and the surrounding area. Upon arrival, the fridge was already stocked with drinks, fruit, and other items, so there was no need to go shopping on the day of our arrival. It was a perfect stay, and we would love to come back.

This place is absolutely amazing. My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Aikaterinis apartment and we were completely satisfied. The inside provides everything what we needed. The description was absolutely accurate. The fridge is very spacious and there is a freezer as well. We cooked quite a lot therefore this was very helpful for us. The pool outside is very clean and also the temperature was perfect for the hot days in Greece. You can really relax at this place because there is not a lot of tourism at this area on Crete. Also the beach in front of the house is quite nice. We put our hammock under some trees and were watching the sunrise over Paleochora. I can totally recommend this apartment, especially for couples who want some relaxing time and together.

Loved our stay in this remote villa. Amazing views with sunsets from the pool. Beds were very comfortable with quality linens and towels. Nice having the pool heated! House is remote so bring all the food needed. Rather close to Elifonisi beach which was well worth the 20 minute drive. Driving is not for the faint of heart of heart. Many tavernas in the area within 15 minutes drive. Would stay again. Thank you Theoni!

We had a great time ,very quiet and peaceful..the local restaurant was really welcoming and served great food.. 2 recommendations if your planning to book here hard to locate at night time so aim to arrive in the day, and my advice You will definitely need to hire a car ... We had a wonderful stay at Aggeliki’s place! The house was perfect — the bedroom was very spacious and filled with light, and the kitchen was clean and well-equipped. Aggeliki was an amazing host; there’s already a lot of helpful information in the Airbnb listing, and she was always quick to respond to our messages. The location was fantastic: a quiet, charming village with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was within a reasonable driving distance, making it a great starting point to explore the island. There’s a small market nearby, a lovely café with a cute garden, and even a walking trail around the village with some interesting insights into its history. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this place!
