Holiday rentals with breakfast in Douro River

This was a dream vacation - we had just moved to Portugal and spent 2 weeks getting setup. We wanted a quiet week as a family to rest before school started. This place was perfect: perched on a mountainside in the middle of vines, the space was quiet, peaceful and beautifully designed and appointed. Paulo, the husband, is an architect who refurbishes vintage designer furniture. Teyna, the wife, is an amazing chef. Her breakfasts (included) we delicious and the dinners they offer in their adjoining restaurant and well crafted and tasty. Their place is pet friendly - we brought our dog, and they have a dog, two cats and two birds. We did outings to Porto, nearby Roman ruins, historic villages and swam in the rivers running through them. It was delightful.

The place was spectacular and was very well maintained and clean. The breakfast provided was sumptuous and plentiful. On the whole was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Para quem procura algo com qualidade, classe e glamour este espaço é a prova disso. Uma habitação super moderna, bem calma e organizada proporciona uma estadia espectacular como o meu caso. O Fábio, dono do espaço neste caso, uma pessoa super acertiva e correta. No que toca a ajudar e a se dispor em poder contribuir para o bem estar é a primeira pessoa. Gostei da experiência e recomendo vivamente!!

Excelente. Fomos tratados com muito carinho. No apartamento o Eduardo nos deixou um belo lanche de boas vindas, com frutas, Yogurte, suco, leite, água, mussarela e Presunto. Além de tudo, todos os dias colocava um saco com pães frascos atrás da porta. Além de tudo é uma excelente localização. Amamos

A Sra.Alexandra foi simplesmente impecável! O pequeno almoço foi excelente e muito caseiro, o check-in muito rápido, sentimos uma paz enorme na quinta! Fomos passar a Passagem de Ano e adoramos os miminhos que nos deixaram. Queremos sem dúvida voltar no verão para aproveitar a piscina!

Our 3rd stay at this lovely place . Everything you need . Great little private back garden to sit and unwind . Nice area 10mins by car to walk around a huge reservoir. Highly recommend.

Appartement spacieux, propre, il ne manque rien. Comme à la maison. Hôtes très accueillants, serviables, sympathiques. Dans petit village calme, non loin du Douro, et à 20 mn de Porto en voiture.

This is a very special find on Air BnB. In a private location, very well equipped, extremely clean, modern, comfortable and pet friendly. Tiago and his family went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I was there during the electricity blackout of Spain and Portugal and they even though to bring me a torch! I highly recommend this property, I’ll be back!!

Fer est un hôte super gentil et hyper réactif. Nous avons eu la possibilité d’avoir les clés avant l’heure prévue. L’accueil est super agréable et Fer toujours disponible. L’appartement est comme décrit dans l’annonce aucune mauvaise surprise bien au contraire. Notre séjour était parfait. Mille mercis. Je recommande et je reviendrais avec plaisir

Ascension е изключително внимателна - беше оставила храна за нас в хладилника, всякакви туристически карти и гидове, както и информация за колекциите на музеите. Апартаментът е много чист, светъл и удобен. Намира се в прекрасен квартал и е в близост до всички забележителности. Без съмнение това ще е нашият избор за следващото ни посещение в красивия Мадрид.

Muy agradable la estancia en casa Elefante!! hemos estado poquito tiempo pero genial todo, como en casa. El centro no está muy lejos y se puede ir andando sin problema. Álvaro super atento y no ha faltado detalle en casa.

leuk appartement midden in het historische centrum vlakbij Plaza de sant Marcelo waar ook een ondergrondse parkeergarage is welke redelijk betaalbaar is. (18 euro per 24 uur)

Alejandro fue un gran anfitrión desde el primer momento. Nos recibió con todo lo necesario para el desayuno, frutas frescas y productos de higiene, lo cual fue un gran detalle. Además, tuvo la amabilidad de permitirnos dejar las valijas después del check-out. La ubicación del departamento es inmejorable: en pleno centro de Madrid, rodeado de opciones gastronómicas y perfecta para recorrer la ciudad caminando. Sin dudas, lo volveríamos a elegir. ¡Gracias por todo, Alejandro!

Alexandra is a remarkable host! She is very responsive and reached out several times to be sure everything was fine. The apartment is very well appointed and there were breakfast items, milk, coffee, and snacks waiting for us ❤️

Small but functional apartment , good security, well equipped kitchen for cooking, although some decent coffee mugs would be a bonus. Great location ten metres from Plaza Mayor and close to restaurants, sites, supermarkets and 30 mins walk to train. Breakfast (where we collected the keys and in the street behind) was supplied and although just coffee, croissants and ham it was quite nice. The apartment is In a little laneway directly opposite windows of restaurants so not private unless blinds closed. Double glazing is excellent for blocking out street noise but does nothing to stop the unbearable noise from neighbours of adjoining walls. Must be a restaurant next door as dragging furniture noises were incredibly loud right next to our heads while trying to sleep. This is of course not the hosts fault. When we arrived, renovations were taking place directly above with lots of noise which we were compensated for by the hosts. Good for a few nights.

Beautiful apartment right on Plaza Mayor. Well appointed, really interesting antiques and art (and furniture), just a wonderful experience, practically and aesthetically. Really just one of our favorite stays ever. We happened to be staying there during the San Isidro festival, so the square was full of people and workers erecting a giant stage (followed by lots of sound checks). Worth noting that the windows do an amazing job of blocking out the noise from the square. Practicalities: great location (although there's a half block walk from any street), near the sights and the markets and so much of the heart of Madrid. Grocery store less than a block away. Tons of great food nearby. Only downside: the apartment was so beautiful that we explored less than we would have otherwise!

From the start she was very helpful, giving clear instructions from the station to the door. Although she wasn’t confident to use English and my Spanish is minimal, she was very quick to use an app to explain the set up. I was only there for one night, which must have been an inconvenience for her, but she was very friendly, and provided the perfect breakfast. It was particularly hot in Madrid that week, but the room had an effective aircon unit, which helped.

Quinta da Xandica, located just outside of Valença do Douro village, was a fantastic, and unique experience. It’s rare these days to find an Airbnb hosted by a “real” (boots on the ground) host who is not only there to share local knowledge and accommodates your needs, but literally who also welcomes you in to the ACTUAL family home. It reminded me of a traditional bed and breakfast, in all of the best ways. (Including a lovely breakfast in a dining room!!!) The Quinta was home to Matilde”s great grandfather, and is shared today with her grandmother and father (three generations). It’s a working farm, and an all around charming, beautiful place. Even during our unseasonably rainy visit, the grounds and area was stunning. Practically speaking, the bed was comfortable & the water hot. Dinner made by Matilde was a reasonably priced and delicious with estate wine. We also thoroughly interaction with other guests, the chipped dog, “Bill”, and access to the surrounding area. A treasure!

Marta's place had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable the room was excellent. She provided great hospitality and services. having the eggs, bread, cereal, juice, milk, cheese, butter and jam were an incredible change from the normal Airbnb fare. Having a washer, dryer and drying racks came in very handy as well. we would definitely stay at Marta's again!!

A very pleasant accommodation, the apartment was great, clean, and well-connected to public transport. Rocio was a fantastic host, and her company was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this accommodation. There are many restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores in the area—whatever you need is within easy reach.

Our stay at Quinta Dos Carqueijais was a perfect 10/10! We chose the Villa das Oliveiras, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. It truly feels like you're immersed in the forest with beautiful views of the lake. The entire property is seamlessly integrated with nature, creating an idyllic setting for complete disconnection. The accommodation itself is stunning, perfectly equipped, and incredibly comfortable—far better than what you might expect from the photos. The breakfast is plentiful, with great attention to detail. Additionally, we had the chance to enjoy the spa facilities, which include a jacuzzi, sauna, massages, and a heated indoor pool, all at a very competitive rate. Quinta Dos Carqueijais is the perfect place to unwind for a weekend getaway or to celebrate a special occasion near the Peneda-Gerês National Park

Un lugar encantador y perfecto para desconectar y con unas anfitrionas muy atentas y cercanas.

Imposible más por menos. "Casa Alberto" es un alojamiento fantástico en todos los sentidos, cómodo, limpio y con fácil acceso al centro (bus y estación de bicicletas a un paso). La perfección sería si tuviera ascensor, pero así te ahorras el gimnasio. Pero lo mejor, con diferencia, es Luís Alberto, su anfitrión. Un tío excepcional, atento a todos los detalles, volcado en conseguir que te sientas como en tu casa. 11 sobre 10.

Foram extremamente simpáticos. Espaço agradável. O Sr. António recebeu-nos muito bem. Deixou entrar antes da hora e sair depois da hora facilitando as refeições das crianças. Espaço partilhado sendo que os proprietários vivem lá mas respeitam imenso os hóspedes e a privacidade.
