Waterfront holiday rentals in Douro River

Extraordinary experience!!! We could not have asked for more. From our first booking, Isabel communicated welcoming warmth. She was not only our host, but also our tour guide service. She arranged for airport transport, greeted us at the door and gave us a personal introduction to Porto. Through her recommendations, we booked a wonderful walking tour of the city and a magical full day excursion to the Duoro Valley. The carafe of port on the kitchen table was the icing on the cake. Isabel truly loves her city and her country and her enthusiasm made us feel so very welcome. We cannot give this experience any higher praise than to say we WILL return.

Wow! What an incredible location and comfortable stay! It was a bit noisy from the music and festivities in Jardim de Morro, so just something to be aware of if you want to go to sleep early. I loved sitting on the terrace and taking in the stunning river and city views. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time in Márcia’s apartment. The view of the cathedral was a daily highlight. The kitchen was fully equipped and left nothing to be desired — coffee capsules and tea were also already provided. One day, we had a minor renovation-related incident — a small thing broke — but it was no problem at all! 🤩 Márcia was not only immediately reachable, but had everything repaired and our apartment cleaned the very same day. And the cherry on top: a complimentary glass of port wine and some chocolate. Thank you, Márcia, for this fantastic stay and for the great guide you provided with restaurant tips! Very nice place with perfect location in Gaia . Beautiful apartment with ocean view , kind host , nice people everywhere . The seafood around the river was extremely tasty .

Nice place right at the beach and about 15/20 from Porto City Center - an easy drive or take an Uber. Plenty of parking upfront. Well thought out rooms and all the amenities - very clean and tidy. Highly recommended!

다양한 나라에서 에어비앤비를 제법 이용해 보았지만, 이렇게 완벽한 숙소는 처음이었습니다. 사실 정말로 모든게 완벽해서 어디부터 칭찬을 해야할 지 모르겠어요. 가장 인상깊었던 것은 청결이고, 유니크한 인테리어와 환상적인 뷰, 비상약까지 챙겨두는 세심함입니다. 직접 작성한 듯한 가이드북도 감동적이었습니다. 방 크기는 한국으로 치면 잘 빠진 1.5룸 정도이고, 창문 밖은 한강뷰 뺨 때리는 포르투의 주황색 지붕과 동루이스강 뷰입니다. 한인마트에서 식재료를 사와 라면이나 떡볶이도 해먹었는데요. 오븐, 전자렌지, 인덕션이랑 식기도구들도 너무 잘 구비되어 있으니까, 문어나 대구요리에 지치신 분들은 꼭 해먹어 보세요. 아 그리고 세탁기 사용도 할 수 있어요. 보통 유럽은 장기 여행으로 많이들 오니까, 속옷이나 티셔츠도 빨래할 수 있어서 너무 좋았어요. 번화가에서는 조금 떨어져 있는데, 관광객들이 종종 지나다니는 깨끗한 길이고, 현지 주민들도 자주 왔다갔다 합니다. 치안은 걱정 안해도 될 것 같아요. 그리고 주변 이웃들도 너무 친절합니다. 제가 잠시 곤란한 상황이 생겼었는데, 진심으로 걱정하고 적극적으로 도와주었습니다. 굳이 단점을 언급하자면, 첫 방문 시, 무거운 캐리어를 이끌고 언덕길을 올라가는 것이 제법 힘듭니다. 혹시 포르투로 2박이상 여행오는 분들(특히 신혼여행 온 한국 커플)께 정말 정말 강추 드립니다. 칭찬을 더 쓰고 싶은데, 글 쓰는 재주가 없어서 이만 마칩니다. 앞으로 포르투갈을 다시 오게된다면 꼭 다시 방문할게요 클라우디아. 좋은 경험을 하게 해줘서 감사해요.

Staying in Gaia on our visit to Porto was the right call for us. Beautiful sunset views, in my opinion better than the park or the bridge - right from the bedroom balcony - 9th floor. Just a few minute walk to Dom Luis bridge, 10-20 minutes down to the port warehouses and docks. Easy/lovely cross to Porto waterfront. Very comfortable - this place worked great and Sonia is very helpful and communicative.

I spent a glorious month at Maria Celeste’s home. It was simply the best place to reset, connect with nature & rest. I’ve never been to a more peaceful home. Freshly squeezed orange juice (from trees) every morning. Lemons for water. A natural spring to swim off hiking grime. Mountains to climb surrounding the entire home. Lizard & butterfly friends. And so so quiet. Maria Celeste picked me up & drove me to the location. Taxi services available to go to town when needed. I can not recommend staying at this home more. If you need some R’n’R, stay. You won’t regret it.

We had a fantastic stay at the villa. Highlight was the unbelievable views from the pool and terrace. The villa and garden with pool & basketball/football court is completely private, perfect for small groups. There are some great local restaurants and river beaches, and Porto centre is only a short drive away. Be warned - there are lots of steep and narrow roads! João was a brilliant host - greeting us on arrival, and easy to reach throughout. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Cristina and her husband Joaquin met us at the apartment and welcomed us like family. Cristina's personal touches, fresh flowered from her garden, robes, slippers and her warm and welcoming energy were just lovely. Joaquin gave us an incredible rundown on the map of the area. Cristina checked in with us regularly and made us feel like we had family nearby. The apartment is quite spacious. highly recommend.

Bruno was an excellent host, and had a wonderful accommodation. I will definitely be back in the future, thank you Bruno!

Um verdadeiro pedaço de paraíso! 🌿✨ Desde o primeiro momento, sentimo-nos acolhidos como se estivéssemos em casa — mas com o encanto de um refúgio paradisíaco. O Diogo foi um anfitrião exemplar: sempre disponível, atencioso e genuinamente preocupado com o nosso bem-estar. A sua simpatia tornou a experiência ainda mais especial. O espaço é simplesmente deslumbrante, perfeito para descansar a mente e recarregar a alma. E como se não bastasse a natureza envolvente e a tranquilidade do lugar, tivemos visitas encantadoras: uns gatinhos adoráveis que apareceram de forma inesperada e conquistaram imediatamente os nossos corações. Foram uma mais-valia doce e carinhosa, que deu ainda mais vida à nossa estadia. Recomendamos de olhos fechados — e com o coração cheio.

Prachtige locatie in een rustige omgeving. Mooi uitzicht vanaf het balkon. Inrichting was ook heel mooi, ideaal voor een vakantie gevoel maar ook om je thuis te voelen. Paula was altijd beschikbaar en reageerde snel. Zeer vriendelijke mensen.

Die Wohnung war klasse! Sie liegt in der Nähe des Meeres, und kleinere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar. Für größere Einkäufe im Dorf ist es am besten, ein Auto oder Uber zu nutzen. Um nach Porto zu gelangen, braucht man etwa eine Stunde zu Fuß oder eine Busverbindung. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung war top, ich kann mich nicht beklagen.

Idylle pur und eine Aussicht, an der man sich nicht sattsehen kann - egal ob Sonne, Wolken oder Regen. Marias kleines Haus mit der blauen Tür in Casal de Loivos lässt einen wünschen, man könnte 365 Tage im Jahr auf solch einem Balkon den Abend ausklingen lassen. Im sonnendurchfluteten Schlafzimmer im obersten Stockwerk befindet sich ein zusätzliches praktisches Waschbecken, sodass man sich sogar mit Blick auf den Douro die Zähne putzen kann. Mehrfach in der Woche halten verschiedene Händler mit ihren Lebensmitteln vor dem Haus, sodass man sich mit regionalen Produkten ausstatten kann. Ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen ist das Olivenöl- und Weinmuseum direkt vor der Tür. Tolle Verköstigungen und ebenso Mitarbeitende. Fue nuestra segunda vez en casa de Santiago, y seguro que repetiremos. Nos sentimos como en casa en su apartamento, que es muy acogedor y no le falta detalle. La finca del edificio es una delicia, muy tranquila y con varios espacios para disfrutar al aire libre. Santiago está pendiente de que todo vaya bien. El personal de consejería muy atento también. Volveremos, seguro.

Even though it is listed as being in Figueira da Foz, it is actually in the neighbourhood of Buarcos. Much better. More authentic. You are steps away from the beach. Daniel and Elisabete are a nice, hardworking couple. Very friendly. The place is perfect, quiet and in the old part of town. You are within the old remparts. Nice walks and beach strolls all around. Lidl supermarket 5 minutes away. The terrace is beautiful. Big plus. I definitely recommend this place.

This was an absolutely amazing and beautiful location for ourselves and our friends to unwind and enjoy. Miles and Pilar are wonderful hosts, they welcomed us with a lovely bottle of wine, which we enjoyed immensely while taking in the spectacular views from the rooftop terrace. Restaurants, shops and grocery stores were within walking distance, so we had options as to prepare meals in the well appointed kitchen or to dine out. Overall we had an outstanding experience and can’t recommend enough!

Perfect location for a solo traveler, staying just one night in Coimbra. what I loved was how walkable the apartment was to everything, from the city center to the gardens to the university. And then all of the river walk being so accessible and close was a huge bonus. I really enjoyed my overnight here and found the apartment to have what I needed. Eduardo and Manuela were responsive and helpful!

도루강 뷰가 너무 예뻐서 예약한 숙소인데 아주 만족스러웠어요! 다리만 건너면 시내여서 계속 걸어다녔는데 괜찮았습니다. 가격대비 집도 넓고 취사 도구도 다 있어서 좋았어요 :)

Our best Airbnb experience ever. The apartment is in a building on the perimeter of the historical center of Salamanca. Even though we were at walking distance from the all the main attractions of the center of the town, which can be very busy at times, the apartment is remarkably quiet and peaceful. From the living room we had a lovely view of the ancient Roman bridge and the green park of the river Tormes. The interior is new, very luxurious and of high quality and design. Faguguri provided the best possible level of comfort. The beds, the kitchen amenities and the elegant bathroom are of the highest quality. Faguguri is a fantastic host, very responsive and attentive. She even surprised us on the last day of our stay by personally driving us to the bus station for our return journey.

Ila de Arousa is a beautiful place. lots of easy walks. good supermarkets. Kitchen well appointed to make our first home cooked meals of the trip. view from dining room surpassing any restaurant. would recommend this location for a restful break.
