Beach house holiday rentals in Downhill Strand

A beautiful home, ideal for us with the dogs, walking distance to the beach and shops. The sunshine was an added bonus! Can't wait for our next break to beautiful Ballycastle!

Great unit for two! Pictures didn’t do it justice. Lovely unit with great location… quiet residential street but with quick access to the beach and very walkable to town. Easy parking. Had everything we needed and hosts provided great local recc’s. Cutest doggo next door too!

If you’re looking to get away from the world and enjoy endless sea views and slower pace of life this place is for you! It’s idyllic and we even got to see the dolphins. The house is homely with everything you could need. And the hosts were very responsive and friendly. Definitely one of the finer places in a very nice place of the country.

The cottage was in a beautiful spot, lovely view looking out onto the river, the house was very comfortable & clean. Emma was very helpful & replied to any queries straight away. We also left something at the cottage which she kindly dropped off at our relations house after we left. We would definitely stay here again & recommend it to other people

Absolutely fabulous stay at Julie’s. We didn’t want to leave. It is a beautiful house with really cool decor as well as being really comfy. The views were out of this world, the upstairs living room is so fantastic to sit & watch the world go by. The beach was just across the road & it was perfect to get up & out each morning to walk the dog. I would love to stay again!

Jill and Alistair could not have been better hosts. From initial booking inquiry through checkout, they were incredibly helpful, responsive, friendly, and went the extra mile without any prompt. Directions to the stay were crystal clear, the property is immaculate, beautiful, private, and well located for the exploration of Finad and all of Donegal. Rathmullan is a wonderful town, and I can not recommend enough a stay with Jill, and Alistair, and especially their wonderful dogs. Alistair was extra helpful in navigating the area, providing recommendations, asking for feedback, and saving a few strokes up at Portsalon Golf Club. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay well within reach of some of Ireland's most beautiful drives, landmarks, and scenery, this is the place to be. We have travelled quite a bit over the last few years, and this stay was the best we have experienced due to not only location, but the hospitality of Jill and Alistair. A review of 5 stars is too few.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful Airbnb in Fahan. The house was outstanding in every aspect, offering an amazing view for every cup of tea & meal. There was 11 of us in total & the house at all times felt spacious & tranquil. The kids especially loved the beach, the pool table & the cinema room. Alexandra, our host, was exceptional. Approachable, friendly, and always ready with excellent advice on local amenities, which truly enhanced our experience. (Thank you especially for Crana Stables & Leenakeel Beach, both gave us amazing memories that will last a lifetime). We couldn’t rate the house and our host highly enough! Everyone had a magnificent holiday. Finally, this was a perfect getaway, and we sincerely hope to return to this beautiful place again. Highly recommended!

Perfect location for easy access to the promenade, the strand and everything in between. Gorgeous views, lovely period home which retains its character but is warm and homely. We really appreciated the clean linen, well kitted out kitchen, washer and dryer and big back garden. The living room is a standout - really comfy sofa and armchairs, beautiful bay window and fab views. Also very grateful for Sean’s support in accommodating our needs at the end of our stay. Would happily stay again.

Alan and Hilary were a perfect first Airbnb experience! They were incredibly helpful from start to finish, meeting us as the ferry came in and taking us to the accommodation.On the way to the accommodation, Alan told us some great information and history about the island , allowing us to make the most of our short trip . The cottage was spotless and had a wide range of amenities, although, apart from sleeping most of our time was spent outside admiring the stunning view . Rathlin has been an amazing destination to experience .Alan and Hilary's helpful , friendly nature is reflective of our overall experience with the other island locals . We will definitely be returning ! ☺️

We had a fabulous time with our children at this beautiful house. The views are stunning and the house is immaculate. Lots of things to do nearby with children and great restaurants.

Lovely house in a great location. We booked last minute but Pauline was responsive and at the property very quickly to let us in. Everything was as described and Pauline showed us everything and how it all worked. Lots of useful leaflets in the property and some great recommendations for food. Everything is on hand and we had a lovely stay in Ballycastle. Thanks 🙏

House was very clean , could not fault it in any way . Everything works perfectly as it should , and has everything you need in the house. Very modern and comfortable house in a very convenient location which is not far from letterkenny , with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby . Christine is a lovely host and is very easy going . Check in was very straight forward. I would highly recommend this house to someone and I will definitely stay here again !

Ruthanne’s place is a gem! We had a really enjoyable stay, the house is beautiful and everything was immaculate inside. The back garden really stood out for us, beautifully laid out with plenty of seating and a hammock (which our girls adored!) Honestly could not speak highly enough of the accommodation. Nice quiet spot,ideal for travelling the Antrim coast. 20 min walk into Portrush. The house is well equipped and modern. Easy to find and park. All you need and a very reasonable price

Fabulous house in an ideal location which was very quiet. Karolina was extremely helpful and very prompt in answering my queries. We were 3 families and the playroom was a big hit with my grandchildren. The facilities were great especially use of washing machine and tumble dryer for young children. Overall we had a great time and the location allowed easy access to the promenade for safe walks. Look forward to a return visit in the future

Amazing few days in Donegal, I wanted to move in and keep that view for ever! Lovely house and plenty of space. So much to do in the area, we'll have to come back! Brilliant communication about location and check in etc, thanks for everything!

We have been coming to Northern Ireland for the NW200 event for 10 years and have stayed in a variety of places. We chose to stay in an air bnb this year for that home from home feel and we certainly got that. Rozzy communicated everything clearly, was incredibly helpful and everything we needed was to hand. A lovely home which was clean and comfortable. The event was walking distance from the house and the added benefit of being able to park the motorbikes in the garage made our stay less stressful. We would happily recommend this accommodation and hope to use it again in the future.

Everything in the house was as presented in the photos/description. Great central location for the town and other attractions on the coast. Bed was cosy and Miranda was available for any questions. It worked perfectly for our two-family meet-up.

Let's not bury the lead: Kyle's place is maybe the nicest, most well furnished, Airbnb's I've seen! This is not an obvious "made to rent out" Airbnb; rather, the furnishings, from the kitchen to the bedrooms and everything else, felt like we were staying in someone's ideal home away from home. The beautiful dining room table, the super interesting wall clock, and the very comfortable bed were just a few of the details that really elevated Kyle's place to a level above what we've come to expect from Airbnb. Honestly, I wish I could give it 6 stars 😁
