The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Come and enjoy the Nature Coast right from the backyard.

Rainbow River Experience.

Great place to relax, so peaceful. The home is in a neighborhood with a private boat ramp that is on the Rainbow River, 5 minute walk to a private keyed entry 3 acre park to with FREE use of the kayaks, paddle boards or just tube down the river. A golf cart is on site to tow the trailer for the kayaks to cruise down to the ramp. No smoking, no pets and no parties please 👍🏻. Please note we have a service fee for each additional guest after four. This helps cover maintenance and cleaning.

Upon arrival read the local information guide I have written and start enjoying the “Nature Coast” of Florida. It is essential to read this to get the most from your trip. Use my kayaks and paddle over the manatees in Crystal River, fish the gulf for saltwater fish or for freshwater fishing at Lake Rousseau, and take a leisurely paddle down the Rainbow River in Dunnellon. Kayaks are on a trailer that has a 1 7/8-inch ball.
