Beachfront holiday rental in Ellsworth

We had the most wonderful stay at this charming Airbnb in Bass Harbor! The location is absolutely perfect — right on the water, offering stunning views and a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. After a full day of exploring and sightseeing, it was such a joy to come back to this cozy and homey spot to unwind and relax. The home itself has such a warm, inviting feel. It’s thoughtfully decorated, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It’s also in a prime spot — just a short drive to the iconic Bass Harbor Head Light and several beautiful coastal hiking trails. Plus, just a short drive to Acadia National Park, making it easy to explore the best of the area. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with close access to both nature and some of the region’s most popular attractions. Can't wait to return!

Absolutely loved our stay here! If you're someone who enjoys being close to nature and traveling with your dog, this place is perfect. The surroundings are peaceful and green. Fabiola was super friendly and made everything easy from check-in to check-out. The house rules were clear and straightforward, which made the whole experience stress-free. We felt really welcomed and comfortable the entire time. All in all, a great stay—we’d definitely come back!

This was such a delightful, peaceful & beautiful place to stay. Shelby was extremely responsive & helpful. I appreciated that she went the extra mile to alert me to the Aurora Borealis & encourage me to see it from the point. When the power went out b/c of a local car accident, she kept me updated with information about cause & when power was expected to return & provided flashlights & a special battery powered lightbulb to provide light. I couldn't have asked for more!

The cabin was breathtaking, with a history painted and photographed among her walls. Perfect amount of space to accommodate a family should you have one. The morning sunrise was spiritual, and humbling. Host was incredibly friendly and accommodating for our dog. Arjuna. Will absolutely be returning. Thank you for an amazing and beautiful experience.

Probably the most amazing vacation rental setting we're ever experienced. This place sits in a nature preserve on 2.5 acres of beautiful Maine coastline. Going to bed and waking up with seals and wave noise, watching Bald Eagle fishing... Just like living a Discovery Channel dream. North of the property is the preserve, 300' South is your first neighbor. Craig/Kadedra were super responsive, extremely nice and helpful. The house is a 70' blast from the past, well maintained and has all the pluses (dishwasher, washing machine, good internet). We will be back!

Christy’s cottage was absolutely amazing. From the outdoors to the interior she thought of everything and the property was very dog friendly. Loved the quiet neighborhood and proximity to surrounding areas. Was very easy to get to Bar Harbor. We had an amazing time and hope to visit again and enjoy all the cottage and area has to offer. Highly recommend!!

Spent a relaxing long weekend at the cabin. Idyllic location right on the water with plenty to do outside. We enjoyed making fires, fishing, and exploring in the canoe. Inside, the cabin was thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. Camden is nearby for a nice dinner or a stroll and shopping downtown. Acadia is also close enough for a day trip. Checkin/checkout was very straightforward, and the host was helpful and quick to answer any questions. Hope to visit again!

We loved our stay! Everything was as described and we had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook several meals. The view is absolutely beautiful from all parts of the house and we loved the outdoor amenities. Lucy was very responsive and gave us some great recommendations! Would love to come back!

My husband and I, and our two pups had a fantastic time in the Carriage House for a week. Part of a breathtaking private/secret compound on the water…with the most incredible private tidal pool. The place is so authentic, which is what we love about staying in ME when we can escape. We were so blessed to find Margaret’s place last minute. Margaret’s mother, Sally, and her husband were in the main Kate’s house. So so sweet they were to us and our girls. A dog paradise. We are foodies. Plenty of good restaurants around - just a few minutes to the adorable village of Stonington. Around the corner is one of the best restaurants in the country - Aragosta. We can’t wait to return…hopefully, in the Fall. A trip we will always remember. Thank you, Margaret & Family.

This stay was absolutely beautiful!!! It looked EXACTLY like the photos, maybe even better! It’s right on the water with a gorgeous view. If you like swimming in your own front yard and sitting up in bed to stunning landscape, this is the stay for you. We spent our time relaxing in one of the most comfortable beds Ive had at any hotel/airbnb, swimming in the water right off the dock, and watching wildlife right from the porch. The area is a large property with multiple stays, and while we passed our neighbors a few times we still had tons of privacy. This would be the perfect location for large groups wanting to rent the entire property/multiple stays on the property. We will hopefully be back in the future with the whole family!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

Three girlfriends and I stayed at Hillside for a week. The setting and location were absolutely beautiful. It was so quiet and peaceful and I loved walking the trail. The house was roomy and comfortable. We highly recommend!!

We had a very relaxing and peaceful weekend at Andrew’s place! The interior was gorgeous and comfortable, the backyard and path down to the water were so pretty and private. Andrew was super responsive, kind, and helpful. Belfast is an adorable little town, we would definitely go back.

A wonderfully charming spot to stay while exploring Acadia national Park and the surrounding areas. Rita was a delight, with fantastic instructions on how to find the place, recommendations for current happenings around town, and she was very responsive for any and all questions I may have had. The pictures don’t do this property justice, I highly recommend!

One of my favorite Airbnb hands down!! It was just as pictures described, very peaceful, and extremely clean. My husband and I wanted to get away from the hustle & bustle but still have the attraction of vacationing close by. We loved this cottage!! I recommend 100%

Beautiful & magical spot! Views of water were gorgeous to wake up to. Being able to walk out onto the beach was wonderful. Cabin was clean, soaring ceilings, very open and bright. Loved it!

One of the most proactive and responsive hosts. Provided a lot of helpful information about the home and surrounding area from restaurants to outdoor activities in Acadia. Location is 20-25 mins from Bar Harbor. Close to a local bakery and grocery store. Secluded and quiet location with great water views from the deck. Bedrooms, towels and linens were excellent. Bathrooms were really clean. Hot water did start to run out by the time the 5th person in our party showered so we had to stagger shower times somewhat and it was fine. Kitchen was more well stocked compared to others. Will look forward to staying here or at one of Robard’s other locations again!

We had a wonderful vacation week at the Nub! It is in a location with spectacular views! We enjoyed watching sunsets from the deck, and spotted seals on multiple days. We also heard loons and a barred owl at night. If you are looking for a centrally located place that is peaceful and beautiful, this is it! The place is cozy and comfortable and Angela is a wonderful host- helpful and responsive. There are great opportunities for hiking, shopping and fine dining on the island. We highly recommend this rental, and hope to return in the future!

A gem of a place to call home for our visit to ANP! We loved the picturesque views from inside. Being on the quieter side of the island was a treat, and we enjoyed discovering all the different sights. Highly recommend!
