Chalet de Hooglander

We had a great time, the place is as pictured and described, a very nice well-equipped tiny house. No problem for our dog too, he was comfortable. We didn't know this part of the Netherlands, but we'll come back for sure!

Group location Groot Baarda

What a beautiful place to stay! The location is very quiet and special with views from every room, lots of light and a lovely garden. Marlies and her husband were welcoming and helpful. The decor was tasteful and cozy and even with many guests the house was spacious. In the kitchen there was plenty of crockery to cover nicely for a dinner in the house. Highlights were the ping pong table and (tuned) piano!

Coach house near Organic Farm

MarcellaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
In 2016, I already spent a weekend with friends in the Coach House. I liked that, so just booked again. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Sjoerd and Jeltsje. Fresh eggs, flowers and a welcome card on the table. The Carriage House is an oasis of peace just a few minutes from Dokkum. Behind the cottage you can enjoy the beautiful view from the wind in the spring sun. Also nice that we were free to take a look in the stables. In the evening we had a nice glass of wine in the hot tub. The downside was the extra cost; the hot tub was more expensive than listed on Airbnb and it was also not indicated that we had to pay extra for the towels (€15 for 5). Too bad, because we would have brought them ourselves. Nevertheless, it is and remains a great place to relax and enjoy.

At the Market | Unique home at the market in Dokkum

Stay for us was excellent. Kitchen not used but was provided with everything incl. dishwasher. The bedroom was upstairs. Plenty of space and a large bed. Only the cushions were barely filled. But yes, we are also used to more luxurious pillows. The environment is great and there are plenty of restaurants. We thought the best were grand café de Waegh in Grote Breedstraat 1 and hotel grandcafe Abdij if you like share dining. Breakfast was a bit difficult but the coffee pot was the best for us. Everything within a very short walking distance The surroundings are Lauwersoog (seals), mudflat walks or a day in Schiermonnikoog and for shopping in Leeuwarden. Had fantastic days. Definitely worth repeating.

A hidden gem in Friesland

LisaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We booked this stay as a gift for my parents. The cottage is cozy, clean and fully furnished. Everything you need is there - from fine lighting to good blackout curtains and a wonderful bed. The bathroom was fresh and comfortable, with a nice shower and plenty of towels. The garden is spacious and quiet, with a cozy seating area. Inside, there are fun games, which is a nice alternative to a TV. The kitchen is compact, but practical with an air fryer and hob. The only downside: there was no freezer compartment. The contact with Anita was great. She is very friendly, welcomes you warmly and had decorated the cottage extra nicely for the occasion. She also gave great tips about the area. The location is quiet, yet close to Dokkum and Leeuwarden. Parking was also easy. All in all, a very successful stay.
