House holiday rentals in Galloway Forest Park

Andy’s house is fantastic for a celebration weekend. Twelve of us stayed there comfortably and there is so much public space that it’s easy to do different things yet assemble for meals. The view from the conservatory and garden is stunning. We had one person in a wheelchair and the house worked well for him too. Andy and Joan were welcoming and helpful.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Mark the host gave us super easy and clear instructions to get to, and get in the caravan which made things super easy. The caravan is absolutely stunning, so clean inside with absolutely everything you need, from plates, cleaning products, even a slow cooker and dishwasher. Everything was left for our one year old including a cot and blankets, and they even had bubbles, loads of games and books for all ages. The WiFi worked really well and honestly we couldn’t fault it. The site was lovely, although there wasn’t loads to do for the kids, they made use of the golf, football pitches and pool. The entertainment was decent and we even won £500 at bingo! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Cruggleton Lodge is such an idyllic place to stay with beautiful views of the sea and nearby woodland. we really enjoyed our time here. it is definitely an off the grid place to stay which was part of the appeal, but it is very warm and cosy. the driveway through the woodland makes it feel so tucked away and secluded but it allows you to see so much wildlife, definitely a great place to stay if you like spotting wildlife and enjoy hiking.

Host was very friendly with very good communication throughout. On arrival the host made it very easy to get into the lodge and came in and explained all amenities on site and was very polite. Overall, throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and return.

Our family of 6 enjoyed being in this Holiday park for a whole week. We had the luck to discover a lot of local beauty sites. Furthermore, we visited some Highlands Loch and castles that was amazing. Definitely will be back in future.

My second stay at this place. Was very impressed the first time. A very relaxing and very tidy place to spend a weekend with family. Very good view of the sea and Alisa Craig island rock. Caroline and Stuart were very helpful and accommodating with my scheduling of the stay. Highly recommend this place.

Great Place to stay

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

Perfect, so peaceful and we had a lovely stay. Loved the location. Only problem was finding the property when we first arrived, we struggled to find the first turn off on the instructions! Very happy with the stay :)

We stayed at Larroch Farmhouse for holiday and were blown away! Joanne's place was remarkable and we truly enjoyed not only the house, but the beautiful scenery surrounding the area! Joanne is a fabulous host and was very responsive and kind when we had questions. Highly recommend the Larroch Farmhouse to anyone who enjoys nature and just wants a secluded getaway for holiday or family reunion.

This was our second lovely stay at Gina's and we had a great holiday. Moniaive is a beautiful little village and the cottage is perfect- we even had some sunshine this time so could enjoy the garden! Gina is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed and very kindly left us a little gift to thank us for rebooking. We would love to stay again- thank you Gina!

Nice clean cottage in a peaceful location. Host was very responsive to pre-check in requests. Great couple days had in Grasmere.

We had a lovely stay in Andrew’s studio apartment which provided a great base for our first trip to Arran. The studio is in a lovely location right by the water with its own beach and it was easy to lose ourselves in the peace and quiet of the area but with plenty of wildlife to look out for as well. Andrew was a great host - he was flexible with our arrival time, offered lots of recommendations and communicated well throughout. Indeed we enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay thanks to Andrew still having availability for a couple more days, and we’ll certainly consider his place for a future stay!

My dog and I had a lovely relaxing time at the cottage. It was perfect for the 2 of us. It was quite remote ( but I like that ) in my opinion so you would need a car. The High ceilings make the cottage seem bigger and the paintings done by a local artist are lovely on the walls. The cottage had everything we needed, the heating was very responsive so in no time you are cosy, I didn't use the log burner but it was great and Betsey left lots of logs. The bath was lovely with lashings of hot water. Loved it, thank you Betsey and lovely to meet you and your beautiful dog.

Honestly one of the nicest Airbnb's I've stayed in - would 100% recommend booking. The cottage itself is gorgeous with everything you could possibly need for a week away, comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen (even an air fryer) and lovely peaceful garden/surroundings. I felt right at home and did not want to leave! It's in a great area with lots to do, whether you like sight seeing, hiking or days at the beach. I will definitely be looking to book here again in the future!

Lovely, well equipped and spacious cottage in a beautiful area. Lots of things to do and see in Wigtown, a town full of history, character and books. Enjoyed walks exploring the town and around the coast. Host Mark was easy to contact,friendly and helpful throughout.

We loved this Airbnb so much. The area brought back such super memories for me as my wee Mum lived at the top of the street many years ago. The house is perfectly appointed with everything needed for a great stay. The big kitchen and spotless bathrooms, the lovely garden, and cute bedrooms are super. The proximity of the train, bus, airport, shops, pubs, restaurants and last but not least …the beach ….are excellent. The sunset last night 200% !!!!! Yes … book this beauty spot now. It is wonderful and the host is very responsive. Thank you John we can’t wait to come back !!!

We had a wonderful stay here and made amazing memories. The surroundings were stunning, and we felt right at home. We loved the cottage and the little touches made the stay even better - the brownies were to die for. Rosie was a great host, and we’d love to come back in the near future.

Extremely clean and tidy. Great location and we loved the sustainable products supplied. Brilliant location and Sandi & Rich were really responsive and welcoming - would recommend!!

Erin has enhanced the smart, clean accommodation with her beautiful original artwork. The house was equipped with all those extras you either forget or have to shop for, especially in the kitchen. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was exceptional. We were pleasantly surprised to find the tv included prime and was easy to use. There was a wealth of local info including a new OS map. Our bikes were safely stored in the garden and parking was ideal, right outside the front door. A real home from home for us! We hope to visit again.

We loved our week at Simon’s place. Beautiful, peaceful and lots of lovely places and beaches to visit. Seals and dolphins passed by. Loved the kayaks. House was warm and comfortable with great facilities. We hope to come back!

A beautifully well kept and presented large home from home. Well laid out with fully equipped kitchen. If you can’t find something, keep looking as the kitchen has everything. Large family bathroom with all rooms well proportioned. Amazing hosts who can’t do enough to make you feel welcome and ease you in to their property.

We stayed for 4 nights at Fern Forrest House and had the most wonderful time. It catered brilliantly to all our needs: my wife and I, 9yrs old daughter, mother-in-law (with some mobility issues) and our dogs. Firstly the house was super clean, stylishly decorated and really well equipped. Layout was good with a downstairs bedroom and 2 upstairs (all ensuite)....which for us worked well. The kitchen is large, light and a lovely place to sit and chat - which also worked well. From the house you can walk to the first of the 2 lakes on a well maintained path (with a lovely Fairy trail) in 5 mins and the second lake is 5-10mins further on...both beautiful. The walled garden is a short walk as is the maze - both excellent fun. The garden worked well, the BBQ was new and there was a plentiful supply of logs etc. Portpatrick, the long glen walk down to the beach, Kennedy Castle Gardens, Killantringan Lighthouse and Beach were fab. Finally, Anne the host was really excellent. 10/10 👍
