The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. It is in a rural setting about 4 miles outside the market town of Cockermouth but is actually located in the Lake District National Park with stunning views over the fells, Binsey, Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick. The lodge has been designed to make the most of those idyllic views and is a retreat for anyone wanting to relax, unwind and enjoy our “world Heritage” status.

The 'Dragons Lodge' is a beautiful Scandinavian Log House set with others within 36 acres of parkland approximately 800 yards from the unspoilt beach at Sandyhills Bay. Balconies offer stunning views across the Solway Firth. Furnished to an excellent standard this is the perfect base for a relaxing holiday. The biking and walking trails of Mabie and Dalbeattie Forest (7stanes) are close by. Colvend golf course is free to lodge guests. The area is recognised dark sky area.

There is also a large private decking area with its very own wood fired hot tub and barbecue, all wood supplied.

Carrick Lodge is one of two lodges within the private grounds of our larger property, The Old Church. Set in a semi-rural location, it is a private and exceptionally comfortable space featuring a lovely private, secluded and sheltered covered decking area with wood burning stove, allowing you to enjoy nature all year round. The local grocery shop is less than a 5 minute walk, with many restaurants and outdoor attractions only a short drive.
