We are located very close to the centre of Oughterard and just 27km from Galway city. Oughterard is an attractive, bustling village on the shores of one of Ireland’s premier fishing locations, Lough Corrib. The Lough is considered a trout angler’s dream.

It is beside Tullycross village which has 2 pubs, 1 hotel and 1 takeaway all serving food. It is a 3 minute drive to the beach. It has central heating and an open fire. There is no usable garden space but there is a huge deck overlooking Tully mountain.

This was such a FIND! Truly the best place we stayed in our entire time in Ireland. Shawn’s home is gorgeous, with huge windows that overlook the harbor. We felt right at home the moment we arrived—our host even left out dairy free creamer for us because we mentioned we were lactose intolerant. Such a sweet and thoughtful touch. The place itself is in the heart of Galway. Quay street is a 5 minute walk, and there are incredible restaurants and bars within an arm’s reach. The place is also on the harbor so you can catch a ferry to Aran Islands right outside your door. This is a prime location! But most importantly, Shawn & his family go above and beyond to ensure your stay in Galway is exceptional. We would love to return to Galway in the future and would 100% pick this place to stay every time. We loved every second!

Sophie is a very kind host, always available and helpful. Generously, she allowed use to use the kitchen and the dining table, so that, during the four days of our stay, there was quite some opportunity to talk with her, her partner and her son about several interesting topics which helped us to learn a little bit about Ireland. All in all we felt welcome and at ease.

Tessie is a great host and such a sweet person! She was very kind to us and was great to talk to about recommendations around the area and other things. She was also incredibly flexible and understanding. The room was better than we imagined and had a beautiful view which was a lovely touch. Free breakfast was also super convenient!

Meredith was such a fabulous host, and her dogs are an absolute delight! :) The place was clean, well kept and Meredith explained everything in detail as soon as we got there. She made us delicious pancakes in the morning, and also had treats waiting for us in our room! She also had a list of recommendations, and was available through text throughout. I cannot recommend her enough as a host, and it’s truly heaven for anyone who loves dogs! We hope to be back there soon :)

The host was nice, responsive and very helpful. The house is huge and the full family enjoyed time together playing games or reading around the fireplace. The house located 30/40 minutes from Galway allowed us to explore the Connemara, Croagh Patrick as well as the cliff of Moher, even if some drive is needed when the roads get smaller.
