In a prime location, immerse yourself in a lively Berlin with its typical flair and enjoy a stylish home away from home right on the Spree in the middle of vibrant Kreuzberg. The quietly located apartment in a former jam factory was furnished in January 2012 with love and a sure sense of beautiful interiors. Relaxed beach bars, trendy clubs and good restaurants are around the corner. Countless genuine Berlin pubs are open all night and for the appetite in between there are snack bars with doner kebab, pizza and homemade burgers of the highest quality. It is five minutes to the Künstlerhaus Betanien, ten minutes to the "Badeschiff," a swimming pool with a pontoon floating on the Spree, from which you can admire large passing ships. Quickly get away The transport connection is perfect. You are 300 m from the U-Bahn [subway], 800 m from the S-Bahn [suburban train] and can reach all the cultural highlights and centers of Berlin in no time. Your home away from home The apartment has been furnished with carefully selected individual pieces according to all the rules of interior design. A heated floor made of smoked oak real wood parquet forms the matching – and barefoot warm – stylish basis. Much of the furniture comes from the boardroom of a former sauerkraut factory in Brandenburg – discovered by a friendly location scout during the filming of a film project. For comfort and well-being, there is a large bright bathroom with a bathtub and shower, a kitchen with an induction stove, microwave, various kitchen appliances such as a kettle, etc. and a practical washing machine. Fast Wi-Fi and TV with cable connection ensure fast Internet connection and good entertainment. Right down in the courtyard there are two playgrounds – if you come with your children – and a large communal terrace for everyone with views over the Spree. A good place to unwind after a day in Berlin. All rooms are characterized by a consistently generous design that creates clarity and leaves room for freedom. The colorful pictures of the landlady, a Munich-born artist and illustrator, create a good mood and an artistically inspired atmosphere. House stories The house at Köpenicker Straße 10a has a long history. The building was built in 1911 in the Art Nouveau style on the dry meadows of the calico printers and wool dyers on the Spree. The tenants of this time were craftsmen, merchants and officers – Helmut Aust Marmeladen-und Konservenfabrik GmbH settled in two of the transverse buildings. Directly behind the building, the river bathing establishment founded by Ernst von Pfuel had existed since 1817, the first military training and swimming pool in Berlin, which continued until 1933. The Pfuel'sche Badeanstalt shaped the image of all other Berlin river baths, which were built on piles and had a shielded water pool protected from prying eyes. Over the years, the property has been modernized again and again – nothing has been lost from the original charm of the founding period to this day. Welcome
Please note that the Berlin Senate levied a bed tax of 5% of the accommodation costs as of January 1, 2014 (tourist tax). Unfortunately, I have to receive this amount in cash on site (against receipt) from my guests....
Entire apartment, courtyards and water terrace
I live with my two children in the apartment next door and am available for questions (almost) at any time.
An Italian café is just opposite. There is coffee as well as lunch dishes and cake. A supermarket is right next door. Kreuzberg is a spacious district where many students and artists live. Here you will also find second-hand stores, street art, casual bars and snack stands.
U12, Schlesisches Tor stop, several bus lines, Warschauer Str or Ostbahnhof S-Bahn
The apartment is located on the ground floor of a green courtyard. In front of the apartment there is a bench for smokers.
The apartment has automatic shutters, so the rooms can be completely darkened on request.
