Our studio is located in Carmel, less than a mile from the town center. The house faces out over Hatton Canyon and affords a private rural setting yet close to Big Sur, Pebble Beach, Monterey, etc. 15 Minute walk to Carmel downtown. A hub to explore Big Sur and all the Monterey Peninsula has to offer. Due to certain regulatory changes regarding minimum stay, the dates you are requesting may not be available. While we prefer longer stays, do make an inquiry to us about the dates you want.

Open your front door and explore downtown Carmel or take a 10 minute stroll down to the beach. Stay in our Carmel Rustic Cabin along with your dogs (see dog fee below) while shopping, visiting local wineries and restaurants or just walking your dog off-leash along Carmel's white sandy beach. Hidden in the woods, our rustic cabin is like a treehouse with all the amenities and minutes from downtown and the beaches. FYI the coast drive is now accessible between here and LA, but may be shut down during stormy weather, so be sure to follow local weather reports or just call Caltrans.

The home is in a very quiet, peaceful, rural setting. Enjoy the fresh air, and the sunlight through the beautiful oaks.

Fancy-Free by the Sea

Petite but sweet studio built by our grandfather, Chaz, in 1940. It is one of four units formerly known as Piney Woods Lodge, where our grandparents welcomed travelers for years. We're excited to return Francy Free to its roots and hope you will join us (two sisters) in continuing their legacy. Studio is ground-level, easy to access and a short (1/2 mile) stroll through the woods to downtown and iconic Carmel beach.
