Cottage holiday rentals in Hale

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

My husband and I spent two nights here on our honeymoon. This place was extremely clean and we noticed how good it smelled when we walked in! The hosts left clear instructions on what to do with everything they offered. The pool table/game room is separate from the house, which I thought was pretty cool! Very peaceful, surrounding neighbors were quiet even during memorial weekend. Perfect place to relax, there is enough to do where you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Very friendly hosts who offered a lot for a great price. Would definitely take a trip here again!! (There’s also a scavenger hunt they include if you’re looking for something fun to do outside- so cute!!)

Cute little cottage on the river. Great location and close to Hubbard Lake. Amanda is a perfect host, great communication and very responsive.

Our family had the most wonderful time. This place exceeded expectations. As other reviewers have mentioned this place is very well stocked. We rode bikes to the ice cream shop, swam at the nearby beach (most days we had it to ourselves), grilled, had a campfire, enjoyed the lovely view from the porch and drove into town to go out to eat. The hosts were very welcoming and even provided a cute little frog table and chair for our little one. We would love to book again some time. Sadly, it does not come with the cute pictured pug. :)

We really enjoyed our stay at this peaceful cabin. The house was very clean and I think the basement was newly renovated and it was perfect for the kids with lots of fun games to play. Fishing on the lake was also a highlight. Highly recommend for a relaxing family getaway!

This cozy, quiet, very clean and homey space has become our favorite rental home of all we have rented. The personal touches really made us feel we were staying at a family or friend’s home. It had paper ware, seasonings, clean pots pans, coffee, zip lock bags, candles throughout the home. The bedding, pillows and towels were top notch. Not to mention the wonderful hot tub, kayaks, dock space, grill and fire pit. I will make mention the 2 bedroom are upstairs. 2 full bathrooms but bathroom upstairs next to bed rooms is a bathtub only. Mark was so pleasant and attentive to answer any of our questions and we look forward to a return trip.

My family & I loved it . Everyone was content just staying at the cottage . Lol but we did check out A couple of the recommendations & they were very nice !! Great stay will definitely book again !!

We were looking for a peaceful retreat-like property and this filled the bill. Every morning we were greeted by colorful sunrises. Each evening we had a full view of the star-filled sky, anchored by a brilliant moon. The property is such that guests have a unobstructed full view of the lake through t the spacious glass door windows. We began our days sitting on the beach as the sun rose. Each evening we ended the day gathered around a fire which was fueled by a generous stockpile of wood provided by Mark and Company. The property has plenty of woods, enough for a mini-wilderness walk. Most everything is provided for every day needs. The modern kitchen is fully-equipped with pots, pans, dishes, silverware etc. Beds are super comfortable. We even surpised ourselves by collaborarting on assembling a jig-saw puzzle provided by the property. Thanks Mark. Great job.

**Review of Our Stay at Teresa's AirB&B** If I could rate this place a 10, I absolutely would! From the moment we booked Teresa's AirB&B, my expectations were exceeded. I anticipated a simple house, but what we found was a fully stocked home that made us feel truly welcomed—perhaps I even overpacked! The cleanliness of the property was impressive; it looked exactly as depicted in the photos. We enjoyed a variety of activities, including kayaking and cozy bonfires in the backyard, which added to our memorable experience. The attention to detail was remarkable, and the proximity to the lake, just a few minutes away, made our stay even more enjoyable. We even drove up to Leland Mi “fish town” Overall, My 35th birthday was awesome! we had an amazing time and are already planning our return. Thank you, Teresa, for providing such a wonderful getaway! 😊

We will definitely be looking to book Shawn’s place again! It was everything we needed for a nice weekend away in Tawas!

Thank you again for wonderful accommodations. This was our second stay at Owl & Anchor and it was even better than the first stay. The host is very thoughtful and the rental is stocked so well with any items needed. The weather did not allow us to kayak as planned since it was very windy but we made the best of our time and it was nice to have the extra throw blankets to toss over our laps on the chilly evenings. There are plenty of games to keep busy with when the weather does not cooperate and the cottage is super comfortable for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view of the lake.

The house was a bit smaller than expected, but it still worked out great. The paddle boards, paddle boat and kayaks were so much fun! Virginia was very responsive to the minor glitch that we did have with the electricity. Very clean. The fire pit was awesome and wood was provided (Bonus!!).

Great location where we needed to be and Eric was very accommodating by letting us in a little early, wound recommend this place and wound stay there again.

Every bit of Michelle’s Haven feels intentional and welcoming. The space is cozy, beautifully decorated, and instantly felt like home. The yard was perfect for our dog—he had the best time running around and soaking up the sun. We spent our evenings around the fire pits, and the front patio quickly became our favorite spot for morning coffee with a view of the lake. In the evenings, we’d listen to the waves and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine—pure magic. The location is fantastic—just a quick walk to the beach, local restaurants, and the Port Austin farmers market. Everything about our stay was relaxing and easy, and we’re honestly sad to leave! Highly recommend Michelle’s Haven to anyone looking for a peaceful, stylish, and dog-friendly getaway.

This is by far the best Airbnb stay I’ve had in Northern Michigan. Steven had given great recommendations and was attentive whenever we needed him. In addition the location is perfectly secluded but complimented by a near by bar and downtown area! Highly recommend!

Had a great time with the kids at Edwards place. Definitely off the beaten path, 20 min drive to property driving on gravel and then dirt/sand after the gate, was a little tight between the vegetation on the path with my truck but no damage done(couple minor scratches). You'll get used to the solar power and learn to conserve, make sure to charge during the day. Amazingly beautiful property, crazy quite. We didn't see much wildlife during our stay, mostly a wide variety of birds. we rented the small boat and made it to the sandbar on Hubbard lake, if your not too familiar with boats I would rent a boat in the surrounding lakes before trying to make it by river to Hubbard lake. River is GREAT for kayak, canoe or paddle board plus you won't scare off the wildlife with the sound of the engine. Overall, we had a great time in this secluded setting and spending quality time with the kids without wifi/internet.

Jillian and Tim's place was beautiful and right on Houghton Lake. It was clean and the sunrise was gorgeous. We were barely here because we had a baseball tournament in West Branch, but it was a very cozy spot to sleep and seemed like a great place to spend a weekend on the lake!

This was an outstanding cottage for a winter getaway for our family! It was a great location close to multiple ski resorts and downtown Gaylord. We enjoyed getting to ski, tube, horseback ride, and play in the snow outside of the cottage. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and everything was clean and cozy! It was perfect for what we were looking for. Dawn was an excellent communicator and didn’t hesitate to give us recommendations in the area and check in to make sure all is well. When we got snow overnight, there was even someone to shuffle and plow immediately in the morning. We would absolutely come back!

We needed to bring Thanksgiving to the area where our parents live but needed extra space so we rented this cabin. Very secluded but not alone (there are other cabins around). It was just great, very cozy during a couple of cold snowy nights! Very well outfitted, especially the full size kitchen. We brought a few things with us worried that the kitchen may not have everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner but it did! Great communication from the hosts at all times, but we never needed anything. We would happily go back again, hopefully in the summer, what a beautiful spot overlooking Starvation Lake.

We enjoyed our long weekend at Houghton Lake in your beautiful home. It was the perfect space for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The kitchen is fully stocked and the home was clean and had thoughtful touches throughout. Also, the sunset views are amazing! You can tell they take pride in hosting guests. We would love to come back during the summer to enjoy the lake more.

The owners did a great job remodeling and we were pleased with the results! Linda was very responsive.
