Guesthouse holiday rentals in Hancock County

We had the most peaceful & gorgeous stay here—the cabin is cozy and beautifully decorated, right on the edge of the burbling Peters Brook (which has a great trail to follow to a little waterfall in the woods!). The beach is just across the street with a great view of the harbor, but the house is tucked in off the road and felt very private. Only a couple minutes from town and not far from Acadia if you're hoping to see the sights. It was chilly during our stay, but there's a wood stove and space heaters which kept us cozy; be warned that it's a cabin in rural Maine if you're not used to creepy crawlies etc. Lucie was a wonderful host, super friendly and lovely to chat with!

This is a perfect little rustic gem, and actually quite spacious, and the little back deck facing the lupine field wonderful. Minimal traffic on the road, and the walk to the bathroom is an easy 100 feet. Casual and not precious. Perfect for us Mainers on a work trip up to nearby Acadia. Highly suggested.

Karen was terrific, always responding quickly to our questions. The setting and house were beautiful with all the comforts of home. The house was conveniently located for a variety of destinations in DownEast Maine.

Beautiful space and wonderful hosts! Megann and Chris were super welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. And coming home to Chloe and Bay was a perfect ending to each day. Thanks for everything. Until next time...

Place was clean and peaceful. The host was amazing.

We chose this cozy studio based on the location to all the places we wanted to go (Acadia NP/Bar Harbor, Bangor, etc), without being directly in the hustle and bustle of either. The area was nice and quiet, hosts were super responsive and helpful with suggestions. We would definitely stay here again!

Hands down one of the best places I have ever been. Linda and Jay were so warm and welcoming. Homemade cookies, breakfast items, tea, coffee and snacks. Everything we could ever need. The home is beautifully decorated and immaculate! Linda and Jay were very proactive and thoughtful! They even left information books about the area, gave us some recommendations and answered all our questions. I wish we could have stayed longer! It was truly magical!

Lorianne keeps the cottage very clean and feels like home. Lorianne was a very response and proactive host and the suggestions that she gave us were very helpful. Unfortunately it was cold during our stay, so we didn't make the campfire right outside the cottage.

We had a wonderful stay and this location was perfect for our all of exploring around the area/Acadia. Pamela was so thoughtful and we appreciated the hospitality and kindness. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want a unique experience that offers relaxation, charm, and peace. :)

A beautiful, restful home hosted by wonderful people. Great location for accessing nearby parks, including Acadia, but it stands on its own as its own vacation spot on the water. Hosts are super welcoming and helpful, and provide you with all the comfort and information you need. Looking forward to coming back some day.

If you’re humming and hawing about booking the spring house - BOOK IT. An absolute physical and mental oasis in the woods. The stars were spectacular, the cabin itself is so well kept and with so much intention. The bed is so comfortable we could have slept all day. The kindest people and the getaway you’re looking for.

Cozy cottage! Would still recommend for non-couples (I was with my mom!) The location is beautiful and the place was very clean with comfortable beds. They brought us some nice dry firewood and made sure we had everything we need. Not much to do in Winterport itself but we drove to Acadia for the day and enjoyed staying in a more quiet area.

Our stay at Michelle‘s Airbnb was delightful. Accommodations for the two of us were perfect. Special personal touches from Michelle made our stay one of the very very best. We would highly recommend this airbnb. We were sorry that we had to leave. Picture perfect!

This is a cozy and comfortable home and was perfect for our family of 7. The town is gorgeous with many activities within walking distance and driveable to multiple sites. Everything was as described and our host provided tips for touring and was responsive to any needs.

Great cottage that felt like home. Beautiful setting. You can see the water however there is another house that sits between the cottage and the water. Great location!

The Windhaven Guesthouse is a beautifully and thoughtfully decorated gem of a place, tucked in among the trees between two sections of stunning rocky beach and shoreline. The guesthouse isn't directly on the water but you can see the ocean through the trees and hear it night, and you have immediate access to private natural beaches to enjoy at your leisure. We explored several of Vinalhaven's Land Trust nature trails and sanctuaries, but enjoyed watching the tide come and go on the stretches of beach directly around the guesthouse very much as well. The gardens on the property are lovely as well. Just beautiful.

This little Airbnb is perfect for exploring the quiet side of Mount Desert. It’s nestled in the woods and we really loved how quickly we could get on so many trails.

Aimee and David's place is new and beautifully done. We enjoyed meeting them both. Loved the place: The view, ease of access (once you find it the first time!), cleanliness, and the general layout. The kitchen has everything you need and there's plenty of storage available in the rooms and bathrooms. The bedrooms and bathrooms are identical so there was no discussion as to who gets the better view, etc.! Everything from the layout to the conveniences is well thought out. I loved having my morning coffee on the deck overlooking the Taunton bay. Thank you Aimee and David. I hope to go there again.

We had a lovely stay at Aaron’s cabin! His thoughtful planning and design allowed us to enjoy our three nights with our dog and baby. We especially appreciated access to laundry, small appliances, breakfast options in the morning, and a large bathroom. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderland was wonderful! Not only was the place immaculate and adorable but the location was perfect for privacy and peace! We felt right at home at Aarons and appreciated all the amenities including a delicious breakfast with THE BEST PASTRY EVER!!! Aaron knows the area very well and provided us with detailed maps and instructions to great sights that we would have never known of! Honestly this was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in.
