We absolutely loved our stay at Shelley’s place. The location is simply stunning – the scenery is to die for! The property itself was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. A special highlight was the CD player and the selection of CDs – it felt like a nostalgic trip back to our youth, especially listening to some Enigma and Red Hot Chili Peppers tracks. Shelley and her partner were incredibly welcoming and accommodating – nothing was ever too much trouble. If you enjoy nature, hiking, and peaceful surroundings, this place is a perfect choice.

My partner and I were only here for one night but as soon as we left we had wished we'd stayed longer! Since it was a short stay we did not need to communicate with Soozey and Jen frequently, however prior to our arrival they sent us a very detailed welcome message regarding finding the place. It was exactly as we expected; a tiny home that was super cosy, had all the amenities we needed plus the lovely extra perks of a greenhouse and rooftop deck chairs. Most importantly, it was the perfect location for several hiking trails, considering we didn't even have a car! Buxton town centre is only a 25 min walk and a very scenic one at that! It was completely worth the cost and I would certainly come back to the Coal House if I were to end up in Buxton again.

An amazing weekend James was such a great host & this place was home from home … we will be back. The park Inn for a Sunday evening was the icing on the cake. Brilliant evening

Marks Quarrymans Cottage is nicely situated in a row of cottages just south of Buxton. Very relaxing with views from both the front and rear of the cottage plus sheep, lambs and horses on your doorstep. There is a very nice walk from the cottage where you can explore the old quarry works and take in the panoramic views of the high peaks. Would highly recommend Marks cottage as a base to explore the high peaks area
