Was greeted by host and she was really friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mele Lani. There was plenty of space for all of us to enjoy our time together as well as have our own sleeping areas. One thing to know that is not listed in the main description is that many homes in this part of the island are on catchment systems. The water at Mele Lani is filtered and uv-treated, but if you do not want to drink it, you can also get free water from a nearby municipal water station. I think it would be worthwhile to make this a note in the main description of the Airbnb. This Airbnb is well-stocked with supplies in the bathroom, extra linens, etc. and had a great kitchen where we enjoyed cooking all our own breakfasts. The beds were comfortable, and the building was well temperature-regulated using either windows or AC. One bedroom was missing a screen in its window, and I think it would be nice to have this fixed so both bedrooms can enjoy the fresh air. Overall we had a great time and would absolutely stay here again.

I had such a wonderful stay at Stephen’s place in Hilo! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel so welcomed and at home. The house was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. You can really tell Stephen puts care and thought into creating a space where guests can feel comfortable. The location was also perfect for exploring the beauty of the Big Island. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Hilo—thank you again, Stephen, for such a lovely experience!

Merlinda’s farm was the perfect mix of peaceful, calm and quiet with the benefit of being close to all of the beaches, hiking and restaurants in Hilo and other areas I could want. Her home is exactly as described, spacious and well appointed. Merlinda was a perfect host, both very communicative and also gave me space to just chill. An added bonus was that there was fruit growing from almost every tree/plant on the property and Merlinda was so generous in showing me around and allowing me to taste them! I highly recommend staying here and I look forward to coming back again! This stay was the perfect Aloha experience!

A charming unit conveniently located near downtown Hilo, but tucked in a quiet neighborhood. Rachel was very friendly and accommodating along with Abby and her four-legged friends. The house itself was simple with everything you need. The natural air and fans provided more than enough of coolness throughout the night. The backyard space was a perfect way to start off my mornings with a cup of coffee. Mahalo Rachel for your hospitality! A hui hou!

We absolutely loved Randall’s Garden Suite! The home is located right off the main road but you feel so secluded. The trees were so tall and grandeur, you felt like you’re sitting right in the middle of the rainforest. The yard space was incredible to wake up to every morning, with life teaming all night, frog sounds turn into birds chirping all throughout the morning. (Bring some binoculars and just chill on the lanai, you won’t be disappointed at all!) E’hu the best host of them all, the guard dog, he made the trip extra special, being greeted in the morning or at 2am grilling on the bbq. Yes the fiancé and I wanted steaks at 2am. So did E’hu apparently, he scared the living crap out of me he’s so stealthy and quiet. Such a good boy, he’s living the life! Walking to the botanical gardens was a blast there’s also two good trails close by too Don’t miss out. To anyone deciding to stay here, do it! Unless you and mosquitos have a thing against each other lol. Thanks Randall, cheers 🤙?

We had a fantastic stay at Linda’s air bnb. It was super close to Volcano National Park. Very spacious, could easily fit 5 or so people. Had everything you need in the rooms. We did have a little trouble unlocking the front door on arrival, but if you just pull the front door closer to you it will be easier to unlock with the key. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and would stay here again.

This was my first time using Airbnb, so I was a bit nervous at first. However, Dennis was very kind and always responded quickly to any questions I had during my stay, which helped me feel safe and comfortable. The room was clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything I needed for daily use, making my stay very pleasant. I would definitely love to stay here again if I have the chance. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. Lila’s place is so peaceful and beautiful. Nature’s sounds at night and the night sky is astonishing! The soaking tub is an extra after a long adventurous day. Lila is a great host. She is very responsive and sweet. She went out her way to bring us a requested item that was not included in the amenities and added some treats on top of that. Thank you Lila for hosting us during my birthday getaway. We’ll definitely be coming back!

It’s like the surfers are performing on stage and you have a choice, balcony box seat. What a lovely stay, put to bed each night by frog lullabies and the distant sounds of crashing waves. Hilo was close by, but here you’re in your own peaceful nook in a quiet neighborhood. It was all that was described. Mahalo.

Thank you Melissa for sharing your beautiful 5 star home. This home is immaculate! I can’t say enough about the furnishings, views, privacy, cleanleness and the pool. We loved sitting back and enjoying the ocean views. We did enjoy the last day by the pool, reading, and taking a nice refreshing swim. It was a great way to end a long vacation. The recommendations for food and things to do were helpful. The beaches are gorgeous and low key. We will be back to visit Hilo and when we do, Melissa’s place is where we will stay.

The husband and I spent our anniversary here and it was our first air bnb in Hawaii we’ve stayed at. It did not disappoint. In fact, I feel this will be a regular and favorite spot for us. We have four kids and spend a few days every few months at an air bnb. This one has topped them all! It’s more than a fair price which is awesome given the quality of the place. I’ve seen several air bnbs in this price range and didn’t anticipate the niceties, the amazing quality and serine privacy/grounds we ended up staying at. I would recommend this place to anyone and already look forward to staying again in the near future. It’s a must stay!

This was one of the best AirBnB experiences I’ve had. The place is beautifully decorated and the location is peaceful and relaxing. It had all needed amenities and then some. Being a native Puertorican, I 100% enjoyed listening to the Coqui frogs sing at night. Hidden gem in Pāhoa. Would highly recommend.

Loved staying at the lotus house. The private pool was awesome. We swam every night after being out for the day. If you read other reviews about the sheriff being called on visitors for non issues. That is no longer a problem as that neighbor has moved.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here!! Brandee was a fantastic host who provided a ton of great information for us! The suite was gorgeous, and we were so sad to not have more time there (but that’s our fault for having to fly home lol). It was a great stay, and we highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay! Eric and Joli were wonderful hosts, always quick to respond to any questions we had. The place is beautifully quiet with a lovely garden, yet still conveniently located near both Volcano and Hilo. (We definitely recommend the Lava Thai food truck nearby!) As mentioned in the listing, there’s no air conditioning, but with the windows open it stays comfortable, especially at night.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hale O Noelani in Pāhoa! The guest suite was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had such a cozy, welcoming vibe. From the thoughtful touches like local snacks, guidebooks, and eco-friendly amenities, to the colorful and peaceful decor, everything made us feel right at home. The space was perfect for a relaxing Big Island getaway, and we enjoyed the quiet, safe neighborhood that was still conveniently located for exploring Hilo, Volcano National Park, and the nearby black sand beaches. Felecia was an outstanding host—warm, responsive, and full of helpful local recommendations. You can tell she really cares about her guests’ comfort and experience. We also appreciated the attention to detail in the suite, like the comfy chairs, vibrant island-inspired art, and the little touches that made the stay special. I would highly recommend Hale O Noelani to anyone visiting the area. It truly felt like a peaceful retreat, and we would happily stay again!

Daryl is very nice and wonderful host, he even informed us about the volcano eruption when we still on the way to his house. We are lucky to catch the incredible volcano eruption. The room has everything we need, kitchen, washer and dryer, two king sized beds are perfect. Daryl is responsible for all the questions. We have a great stay in his house, definitely recommend!

Eleanor’s place is quite pleasant and comfortable. It is exactly as she describes it. The location is great, close to everything but in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent value.

Staying at Matt’s Airbnb was a truly wonderful experience. He was quick to respond to any questions and offered great recommendations for things to do, places to explore, and local spots to eat. Matt and his wife even gave us a personal tour of their property, sharing cool insights about their homegrown produce (which they kindly gifted some to us as well! 😁) and beekeeping. And of course, Macchiato the cat is an absolute delight! I would confidently recommend this place to anyone visiting the Hilo area!

I stayed with my husband and our toddler for one week. We all agree that Bill and Dawn have something truly special here. Bill and Dawn are very friendly and provide a whole binder with lots of great recommendations. The pictures really don‘t do the size of the property justice, we had ample room and everything was clean and in perfect condition. We loved being in this charming home away from home with a beautiful jungle feel to it. Anybody who is looking for a get away to unwind would do themselves a favor booking here! You will be in a peaceful neighborhood that feels very private and yet close enough to everything to explore Hilo and the surrounding area. We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back!

It was a very cute and cozy studio. I loved how easy and very detailed the instructions were to find the place and to get into the house, easy to follow. The space was very clean and well kept. I’d definitely stay here again and the host is very friendly and helpful. Overall 10-10!!
