Jan and Filbert were fantastic hosts, and their place truly felt like a home away from home. Jan thought of every little detail to make our stay comfortable—from the welcoming touches to the fresh eggs and wine waiting for us in the kitchen. Meeting the dogs and horses were an absolute delight and added to the charm of our stay. The house and grounds were exactly as listed—peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfect for stargazing at night. The towels and bedding were top-notch, with a thread count that rivaled luxury hotels, making it easy to settle in and get a restful night’s sleep. The location is a perfect base for exploring the area. We did day hikes at White Sands, explored Lincoln National Forest, and enjoyed scenic canyon trails nearby. Whether you're cooking in—Jan’s kitchen setup is excellent—or heading out to eat, you’ll have great options. Don’t miss PistachioLand; their ice cream is a must-try!

We really enjoyed our stay - we weren’t expecting the little extras including a fully stocked kitchen with spices and even tennis rackets for the nearby courts! We also greatly enjoyed the sleds at the dunes. Plenty of room for our family of four and doggy friend.

Loved our stay. Cottage was truly cozy but roomy. It is listed as one bedroom but it has a small room next to the kitchen with a pullout bed (very convenient). Kitchen was definitely the center of the home with a huge fridge and lots of stools to sit around the table. The one shower in the bathroom is a bit short; I’m 5’5” and it was a bit tight. We encountered a couple of tiny spiders, but we were in middle of the mountain, so it’s not too big of a deal. This place has an amazing view of the stars at night and has a couple of beautiful walking trails very close. It’s also close to the town of Cloudcraft. We would definitely stay here again!

From the moment I arrived, the cabin felt like a tranquil retreat. A soothing scent greeted me, and the thoughtful arrangement of every detail created a truly peaceful sanctuary. It’s the kind of place where you just exhale. Anna was exceptional. Despite my spontaneous booking, she made everything seamless and welcoming. The selection of tea, coffee, and delightful Japanese treats was a lovely touch. She even took the time to recommend local hiking and dining spots, and snapped photos of the view of the sky in advance when considering bringing my telescope. The patio provided a fantastic vantage point for watching birds and wildlife. Each morning, I’d sit outside with my coffee and simply breathe in the calm. Nestled among beautiful trees and roaming elk & horses, the location offers a serene escape without feeling remote. It’s the perfect reminder that a peaceful getaway can be simple and rejuvenating.
