We really enjoyed our stay. The beach is breathtaking! I enjoyed the jungle vibes and the frogs sang me to sleep every night. Matt is very kind and responsive. I would recommend staying here, and we would happily come back.

Perfect place for our family of six spanning three generations. Great spot to explore the south and east side of the island. Volcano Nat Park was close by and Hilo definitely is a foodie paradise! More rain equals more vegetation and beautiful flora and fauna. Brian’s place manages to incorporate the amenities of modern luxury living with the surrounding natural wonders seamlessly.

We had a party of 6 which included a 6 and 9 year old. The home was clean, especially the bathrooms and kitchen you felt right at home. Although no AC it was still comfortable with the fans and we would be out during the day where it was hot the most. The tv was available and the kids enjoyed it. Loves how there was lots of sitting space and layout of the house. Two bathrooms helped so much with the 6 of us. The outside porch was terrific too. Labels on the light switches helped and were thoughtful. A very convenient location. Thankful for airbnbs available like yours !

Pali Hale was pure magic. Perched on a cliff with breathtaking ocean views, the energy of the waves made for a serene, unforgettable stay. The home was spotless, with fresh sea breezes and subtle Hawaiian scents setting the perfect tone. Reading and meditating on the patios was a dream, and the hosts were incredibly responsive, providing great local guides. Thoughtful touches like music on arrival made it even more special. An ideal retreat for family—truly unforgettable!

We had a wonderful stay! The location was fantastic and the views were absolutely stunning. The space was beautifully decorated, cozy, and well thought out. The host was very communicative and made everything easy from start to finish. We’d love to come back!

Beautiful home, the waves put me to sleep every night as well is the comfortable mattress. Kids enjoyed playing Pac-Man and watching the Nena from the back deck. Coffee and the sunrises were the best. Thanks a lot!

Beautiful house across the toad from Kehena Beach. The rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms were immaculate. Kitchens were stocked with dishes, glasses and utensils and much more. Loved sitting on the lanai. Beautiful view of the ocean. Walking distance to the drum circle on the lawn. Just a fantastic stay!

An amazing house in a beautiful part of the island. We loved the shared and separate spaces. Would definitely stay here if we are in the area again. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it!

Michael’s place is very accommodating with all the amenities described. My family travelled from several different locations to be together here and it all worked perfectly. I was bummed that the other visiting guests not staying there could not use the pool, but I understand the liability and respect the rules. All in all, it was a wonderful trip!

The view alone is worth the price! Everything was so lush and beautiful! We felt like we were in our very own private resort. We enjoyed the spacious house itself and the outdoor area. The pool was great and the beds were super comfortable! This was a great base to explore the entire Big Island of Hawaii! I would recommend this home to anyone! Just book it already!

Perfect Stay Near Hilo! We had an amazing stay at this beautiful house just 25 minutes South of Hilo. The location was perfect—close enough to town for convenience, but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet and only 45 minutes to volcanic national park that we visited twice in one day as it was erupted in the middle of the night ! The backyard was a true highlight: spacious, lush, and tropical, with plenty of room to relax or let the kids play. The pool was clean, well-maintained, and a refreshing way to cool off after exploring the island. Inside, the house was comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. Highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat on the Big Island. Our kids enjoyed all the lizards and frogs outside ! We didn’t need AC as the weather was cool at night and on some nights you can hear the ocean sound as well !

Very nice homes on the ocean cliffs. The pool was very warm and refreshing. It was nice waking up to the beautiful view.

Such a beautiful, peaceful and private property. Postcard views everywhere you look. Clean, comfortable, and well appointed. It was hard deciding each day if we should head out and see the various sites or stay and enjoy the house. By far the quickest responding hosts we've ever had the pleasure of staying with. Our stay couldn't have been any better. We can't recommend this place enough!

Beautiful home on the peaceful Hamakua Coast. Our family enjoyed a wonderful and quiet staycation - the pool was delightful and temp was just right with the cool ocean breeze. Kitchen was stocked with basic essentials making cooking easy. Very comfortable sleep spaces - cool breeze at night with windows open. Loved every minute! Suzy was very friendly and responsive. The grounds were so beautiful - lots of flowers and fruits surrounding us. I highly recommend this home as your next getaway. I will stay here again. Thank you Suzy and Peter!

What a great place! Very easy to get to, spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. Gabriel is a gracious host who really wants to ensure his guests make the MOST of their stay in the Puna district. His recs are spot on, and the home is a great home base for a couple or family (or a group of girls!) exploring the area. The garage is a welcome feature - we all know it rains a lot on the east side of the island but not needing to dodge raindrops while bringing in luggage or groceries or returning after a long day of exploring is really ono. We enjoyed nights on the lanai, breakfast too. A short walk to the cliffs (and one more block over to see a cool sea arch) to see Kanaloa battle Pele each morning is a mana-filled way to start each day. Mahalo nui loa! Until next time…

The grounds are stunningly beautiful, and so is the house. We had lovely ocean views in some of the bedrooms, and having air conditioning in the common area was appreciated with our group of mostly middle-aged women. The beds were super comfortable, we loved the private bathrooms in each bedroom, and the house was well appointed. The check in and check out process was easy peasy. We interacted with two women (Moon and June), both of whom were lovely and very responsive–especially June. There were a couple issues with some of the appliances, and we weren’t able to use them during our stay. But June and Moon made up for it in other ways. The house does smell a bit of mold, which is to be expected for an older home in a humid environment. While it did bother my sensitive lungs, fortunately, none of the rest of our family noticed. Overall, we had a wonderful time and very much enjoyed our stay at this property–we’ll definitely come back next time we’re on the Big Island!

If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would. I had to book last minute and Jon was so accommodating. While he couldn’t help me with same day booking he gave me a nearby recommendation and when I asked if I could adjust my booking for the next day he helped me do so. The space was very peace and beautiful. The balcony was great for birding, relaxing, and eating our meals. It was the perfect respite we needed. Jon also had such a kind and relax presence about him that made you feel great about being on his property:)

The place was very nice. It looks like a vintage house but fully remodeled with all the amenities of a new house. It would have been a challenge to find using a map app but Jeff provided detailed instructions and we found it easy to navigate to the house. The house is near the end of a quiet lane so there was no traffic. There were a variety of wildlife outside the house including geckos, lizards and little chirping frogs to add to the experience.

The place was great. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to find. The place was very clean and was very roomy. We loved the balcony! The host was easy to get in touch with and very friendly. The only drawback is that because of the speed limit and route it was further from Hilo and Volcano national park than I expected. The drive was extremely pretty thought so overall it was a great place to stay!

The house is lovely inside and the lanai space and view are great. Neighbors walking past were always friendly, and the drum circle on Sunday was a fun extra. As stated in the description, it is a drive to get supplies, so stock up on coffee, toiletries and toilet paper. We had a little problem with water pressure while there, but Dawna and Andy responded and it was fixed as soon as we reported. The frogs croaking was a nice evening soundscape and we loved the geckos. We were lucky to witness Pele's power as she erupted, as it was an easy drive to Volcanoes National Park. We explored all around Pa' Hoa one day and found off the beaten path beaches and scenic drives up the coast with lava flows, state parks and the small city of Hilo with all its pocket beach parks. It was a nice base for eastern Hawaii wanderings.

Our group of 10 stayed here for 5 days and had a great experience. The house was super spacious, clean, and comfy—plenty of room for everyone to relax without feeling crowded. The full kitchen and washer/dryer were big pluses and made the stay feel easy and homey. The neighborhood was quiet and full of nature, with long roads perfect for a morning jog—I loved running along the scenic volcanic coastline. Communication with Diana was smooth and friendly, a big contrast to a previous host I’d contacted. She even had someone meet us to give a quick tour, which was really helpful. The pool and jacuzzi were awesome bonuses, but what really sold me was the space and thoughtful amenities. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at Fawni’s house. The location is spectacular - right by the water in the lava flows, offering a completely unique Hawaii experience. The house was the perfect base for exploring the Big Island, with a full kitchen, laundry, and screened-in porch that made us feel right at home. What made it truly special was walking to the water for sunrise and sunset - unforgettable moments we'll treasure forever. Despite no AC, fans and nighttime breezes kept us comfortable. Highly recommend for travelers seeking authentic Big Island beauty and a peaceful oceanside escape!
